Great video! I was just in downtown Dallas about 3 months ago and it was a cool experience. But my favorite downtown has and always will be in Miami, Its booming right now, its a exciting time to see a skyline of such a young international city expand and grow into one of the fastest growing downtown's in the U.S. today.
I am from Dallas i moved from 1994 i saw a question about 1980s Dallas booming with tall buildings yes oil money and office speculation and lets not forget 1000s of apartments where built. The savings and loan crisis and over building got Big d there will never be a 1000ft building built in downtown Dallas why love field. As far as i know Fort worth can have over 1000ft buildings and it should build one time cow town built something magnificent but don't be surprised if Frisco or Plano build one before. Houston and Dallas got some beautiful buildings but i have to warn those too cities Austin probably get tallest building in texas and San Antonio needs to start building too every city needs iconic building i think it gives folks hope.
Hey, forget just mentioning Dallas as having a cool skyline in Texas. A couple years ago the newspaper USA TODAY named it as being the most beautiful skyline in the entire WORLD. Not just in Texas. Not just in the USA. But rather our skyline was voted the best skyline in the entire WORLD. So, there you are. THE FACTS!
First I want to say that this is a great video and I enjoyed it, however to say that there are no new towers proposed or under construction in Dallas is just flat out incorrect lol there are numerous towers being built in downtown and uptown, including a 25 story tower being constructed by museum tower, a 19 story building under construction in uptown, a 34 story tower in uptown, another 34 story tower in uptown, a proposed 46 story building by fountain place (google it, it is pretty cool looking tower) and a few others that have been proposed, I know this video is a few years old, but I figured I would just update your video's facts about Dallas 😂
Thanks man, and yes this video (like most of my videos) is kinda outdated. But I just don't have enough time to keep all my videos up to date. Anyway thanks for letting me know all this, I'll try to update it somewhere in the near future ,)
slipknotmetalrockful AMLI Fountain Place and Atelier Flora lofts 46 and 40 stories should be starting up soon. Unfortunately because existing Dallas buildings are so tall they don't make the top ten list.
... ... ... "no offense" he was meaning, higher than the former First National Bank Tower(52 stories(they call it "Elm Tower", i do not like too mention the "new amili tower", because being an Architect at Heart, they ruined Fountain Place's Twin Tower Design, at 90° which would of played off each other supremely, plus their 30stories too short(the only one built of the two... The skyline of Dallas is Buitifull ; but lacks "SuperTalls", even InterFirst Tower(b.o.a. was a proposed gold rolex pyrimid, that werr SuperTalls, InterFirst(b.o.a. and Fountain Place, built too their "Original~Specks", would of been Americas Grestest Towers(.)... Sincerely Brother brent
... ... ... i guess he did reply ; i looked at it from a SuperTall Aspect...Love Field has bowed Dallas Skyline(Uptown because of Highland&University Park preventing east to west air traffic, no towers can go above a certain heigth...plus i do not read others post untill i post, because i want too speak from my Heart. Sincerely Brother brent P.S. too see a David Fisher Wind Turbine, each floor revolving 360°, 111 story Tower, would make Dallas "dance in the wind"... ... ...
I can see the Dallas skyline from my house. I thought the Comerica Bank Tower was the 2nd tallest building over the Renaissance Tower. It looks that way to me. It even has more stories 60 over 56. 😗????
The amount of stories isn't always equivalent with a buildings height. And maybe the Comerica Bank Tower is build on a higher place and/or you don't see the Renaissance's spire from where you live which might make it look taller as the other tower?
No, i didn't, it's a nice tower but, it only is 170 meters high, and Elm Place the 10 th tallest building in Dallas is 190 meters high, which is obviously higher.
Do you mean the tallest buildings constructed in the 80's or the Tallest buildings in 1980? And all over the world? or only the USA? Maybe it's something I'll do if I hit 500 Subscibers as a special
Dakota Ballenger Probably yeah. I've just checked, and from the 100 tallest buildings in the world right now, only 5 were already erect in 1980 and they were all standing in NYC and Chicago.
Dakota Ballenger However, I've just found the 50 tallest in 1980 (on skyscraperpage). Except from 5 buildings or so they are all standing in the US, and mostly in NYC and Chicago. But I kind of like your Idea, I might really make it when I reach 500 SUbscribers.
@@TowerGuy then you should make a list of the most iconic buildings in Dallas, Im sure people would remember this building much more than any other, It was not only the tallest buidling it its prime but a very iconic one for the city in a time of prosperity, investment and development.
As someone from Dallas it's just kinda sad. I mean Dallas has a big metro plex behind Houston today cause Houston just passed the DFW metro pop. Still though I mean for Dallas to be this big at 9th largest city in the U.S and third largest in Texas its sad. I'm from Dallas and Houston has ten times the skyline we have meaning more skyscrapers spread out and all over the place with a couple supertalls. My city of Dallas don't have none of that. Dallas doesn't have any supertalls and not alot of buildings and skyscrapers. I even think Seattle has a more skyscrapers then we have and 50 times a better skyline that is lit at night and looks good during the day. I'm from Dallas and we really can't compete with Houston they are on a much higher level then we are, where I am from in Dallas. Also I believe Fort-Worth is gonna surpass us cause it's growing we times faster than we are here in Dallas lol.
Are you kidding? Dallas has 7.7 million metro and 1.3 million population growth in the last 10 years. DFW metro is larger than Houston, and is going to pass Chicago within the next 10 years.
First off. It’s not the Dallas metroplex. It’s the Dallas and Fort Worth metroplex. Fort Worth adds major numbers to the metro area. It’s not all Dallas. And yes Fort Worth will surpass Dallas in about 20 years. And I can’t wait because we hate Dallas. Fort Worth is better.
Chidera Uzomah Nope, construction indeed started in 1983. But the tower took two years to be build, and was only completed (and opened) in 1985. So 1985 is correct.
... ... ...yes a buitifull skyline what is sad, the metroplex will surpass chicago metropalitain in population in five years ; without any(none SuperTalls(Interfirst Plaza, b.o.a., was scaled down from its Gold Rolex Pyrimids, with twin, too the "green building", if only you knew its TRUE GLORY!!! and amlis "new fountain place", ruins( i.m.peis twin at 90°, playing off each other(30stories too short, but Along With the Original InterFirst Towers would of been Americas Premiere Towers too this Date(.) Sincerely Brother brent 💘
But Chicago will still have a berria urban vibe. Dallas is nice but it's too spread out. Chicago is more walkable, has better museum, a fabulous waterfront, great food scene and arguably the best skyline in the US.
Fort Worth is a separate city. We are mot Dallas. And not even in Dallas county. Stop claiming Fort Worth as a city in Dallas. Fort Worth is an beast on its own. Dumb ass.
+Antonio Villarreal You're very wrong about having apartment condos as tall as these Dallas buildings. Houston's tallest 2929 Wesleyan is 500ft. The shortest building in this video is 625ft. In fact Dallas' tallest condo building Museum Tower is 560ft. A lot taller than 2929 Wesleyan. Just thought to correct you. K bye!
