Although I live in a major city, it's been almost impossible to find a resource to teach me what I've needed to create jewelry. But in this video, you explained and demonstrated so much of what I've been needing!! My goal is to create beautiful pieces to gift and to sell and now that I've discovered you, I finally feel a sense of peace going forward. Thank you SOOOO MUCH!!!!! Looking forward to getting your kits, too!
Lol!! I'm sitting here watching you and chuckling because i have one working arm not my dominate one either, figures, eh?Stroke 10 plus years ago.But I try to do what I can like type with one hand. Paint, Stamping, tea dying paper, beading, I guess I either like the challenge or getting really frustrated/disappointed. Lol gotta keep busy while I work in P.T. RIGHT!? You are really good at what you do! Onward!!
I made and sold jewelry for about 13 years and then gave it up. I had to watch your video anyway just because it's you Lindsay. This is just vital information for the beginner. I wish I would have had you around when I started out. I bounced around finding a little bit here and a little bit there. Potential beaders should file this in their favorites. Thank you as always.
What a helpful video for beginner beaders. TIP: When cutting multiple lengths of chain, try putting a head pin through the first link of each length and then either hold up or drag along the mat to make them even. You can then easily see which link to cut to make all the strands the same length. I always enjoy your videos. Best wishes from Buckinghamshire, UK. Sue Q.
I have been beading and jewelry making for many (many) years. Your crimp pliers demo taught me to separate my wires and then to fold the crimp with the tip of the pliers. Thanks for being so well spoken and showing even the smallest of details!
I had always wanted to take a jewelry class...but never took the time...thank you for sharing these basic techniques with us...i feel more confident about making my first piece😀
Thank you for sharing.. It's so important to know where you need to go to purchase supplies. When making your jewelry project... Being Knowledge is so important, cut down on time....Thank you for sharing...I appericate this tutorial
Thank you thank you thank you.....I bought jewelry beads and tools just to make pieces for myself.....because as you know, buying costume jewelry...and I can't always find what I need to go with my outfit(s)...I'll be watching this video time and time again....you give us confidence that we can do it ourselves ☺
I started making jewelry with Annie’s kits and they were very helpful! I saved all the instruction sheets in a binder so I could always refer back to them.
I am currently watching your video on tv. The beading question I had was answered very clearly. Your video presence and command of the English language are wonderful. I could listen to and watch you demo anything! Thank you for being so refreshing and fun, that seems to be a rare commodity these days. I will definitely be looking for more of your videos.
I've made beaded jewelry for about 50 years and I learned some new tool uses and techniques from this. Your explanation of the crimp pliers was very helpful. I have them, but I couldn't quite figure out the channels. And I didn't know about crimp covers either so that's good to know, too. And that was a fast 40 minutes! Lol Thanks so much, Lindsay.
Thanks, I always worry a bit if a video is too long as some people won't even look at one over 10 minutes but I thought it was more important so show all the techniques and not rush:)
When cutting chain. Cut 1st piece of chain on hang it on a head pin. Hang the remaining chain on the same he adpin and put the close hold the headpin horizontal and using your nippers nip it off at the bottom by eyeballing the length is the same!
I took a beading class locally; but, the shop where I took it has closed. The owners wanted to retire and couldn't find anybody interested in buying the store. Sometimes I have trouble seeing the tiny details; but, I did find this video helpful as a refresher. I do not have crimping pliers; but, the times that I used my flat nosed pliers for crimping, the bead crimped as if it were crimped with crimping pliers.
Very very helpful. I'm not into jewellery, but I've had ideas for bead embellishments for Christmas ornaments, etc. But didn't know how. Now I do. Thanks. You certainly are multi talented.
This video was so informative and so very well demonstrated! I had to search and search and watch many videos to learn what your teaching . And nothing compared to your descriptive well versed video! Wished I’d seen this during my struggle I finally comprehended! Thank you Lindsey and to those just learning please do watch her videos. 😇 your the best!
Thank you so much for the clear and concise instructions. I saved this video for future reference so that I can finally try a beading project like I've wanted to for awhile now. Your finished items are very pretty.
Great video Lindsay! I liked how you closed your crimp bead I do that too. Some people have an issue with how to close the crimp beads, I had a person leave me a comment to tell me I was doing it wrong lol so it's nice to see that you did yours that way too! ;-D
Lindsay, no matter anything negative, YOU are great. You energy is infectious, and you are beautiful, and spunky. You are a natural teacher. 👩🏼🏫🧚♀️🙍🏻♀️🦁💐🌼🌻
This was very educational and you did such a great job explaining and showing step by step. Just wondering is there anything that you don't know how to do with your hands in the arts and crafts dept.???😊😊😊 When can or do we move onto car repair and house plumbing issues. Your my girl.☺ kidding just that very few people impress me like you do. You sure don't let any grass grow under your feet. Far better then people who just want to complain about everything under the sun. Thank you for your time and all the free educational videos you pump out you are truly amazing.
aww, thank you so much! I just really enjoy making stuff and I come from a very crafty family and I get so excited about projects that I want to share. Plus it allows folks a way to learn for free if they didn't have the same blessings as I did:) Thank goodness for youtube! I am so glad you are enjoying my videos! I don;t have any plans for plumbing or mechanical stuff unless you want tutorials on how to break things LOL!
Thank you Lindsay. This is a wonderful demonstration of beading and how to use the tools. Also thanks for all of your very helpful tips. It’s a great video!🤗
Great video, especially loved the wrapped loop, I have been doing jewelry for years but still struggling a bit with the wrapped loop :-) practice makes perfect!
Didn't have time to check out this video yet but had to stop and tell you how beautiful you are looking. You of course have always been very pretty but today, just really look radiant. Merrry Christmas!!!
OMG!! I really enjoyed this video I have really learned a lot. You made it seem so easy now. That 4-in-1 tool is awesome I wish I knew about it before ordering alot of tools, and your book with the ruler is great. A beading mat now no other beading monthly company gives you a mat thank you so much.
Great video...another keeper lol, especially love how the necklace looks. I'm finding I am going to your channel more and more for tips on pretty much everything! Thank you so much for sharing your art knowledge. ☺😊
Awesome....most helpful, thank you. I've made mostly stretchy bracelets....have all the tools you've showed & do the jump rings ok but have been to timid, chicken shall we say about trying the necklaces, just seemed involved, hard .(I'm a slow learner also with my knitting) but after watching this I'm super encouraged to try a necklace! :)
My birthday is the first of January... Yes quickly approaching..lol I have specifically requested a subscription to Annie's Bead kit. I cannot wait to get started! Thank you so much honey for sharing as a beginning jewelery maker I feel much more confident and ready to make gorgeous pieces of art! Happy Holidays! Huge hugs!
Happy early birthday! I think you will enjoy the projects! If you ever need to find a specific technique again there are quick links in the video description so you can get back to beading:)
thefrugalcrafter Lindsay Weirich I made sure to save your video! I love all of your tutorials. You have taught me so much from card making to paper crafting to watercolor painting and now jewelery! I cannot thank you enough for sharing your time and exquisite knowledge with us! Your such an amazing Inspiration to us all! Hope you and your family have an amazing holiday season and blessed New Year! And thank you so much for the birthday wishes means the world to me!
Thoroughly enjoyed this refresher tutorial! Never knew there were jewelry kits, I am going to check out the link. Could be fun here in AZ where I do not have any supplies! TFS
when cutting the chain as you do, use a straight pin and put the pin in 1st loops and into cardboard then you can put a bit of tension and use wire cutter, less chance of putting a bend in the last loop of cut chain
Love your videos. I was hoping I was going to learn different techniques with beads, verses how to use findings, might of helped on the title. I have learned lots from your channel, and appreciate the time you put into them.
helpful tip maybe, when i measure chain i do it by putting on the chain that i have measured then adding the chain i need to cut onto an eye pin holding in the air then just cut it off even.
Thank you Lindsay for that very in-depth video tutorial about beading. I am sure many people including myself are very grateful for the time you put into making this. It will, as you said at the beginning make a very good reference video for now or maybe in the future. Thank you for sharing your knowledge to us crafters in this particular craft. :O)
Wow!! Last comment was five years ago. I don't know if anybody will still read this but the best way I feel to cut chain is to first measure the first one of course and then put it on the head pin or an eye pin and your long-chain next to you the one you want to be the length. Then cut. I would feel that placing the chain on a flat surface would 1. Be difficult to align. You even mention this idea but yet you don't even demonstrate how to do so.
