Yeah, people just can't spot parodies of the Left. But it's true, they parody the right more.

It’s not really though. I won’t accuse it of being “woke”, but the shade being thrown is not equal. Or maybe it’s just too on the nose for me. Don’t wanna hear about All Lives Matter and Black Lives Matter by name when you could easily be subtler in your approach, but then again absolutely nothing is subtle in this show.

@@RasKetchum I can’t even list the times the other side is made fun of: from everything Homelander says, to Soldier Boy’s entire dialogue, to Black Hawk, all the Stormchasers, Hughie and every other man being insecure about something or needing women to come to their rescue, or how Billy’s shit father gets half an episode basically explaining how shit he is while Hughie’s dad’s greatness is mentioned in passing, or how Hughie’s mom is never criticised for leaving her family behind, or how Homelander’s crowd are all conspiracy theorists and their media criticisms are never warranted like they are in real life, or how Homelander picks two men to join the Seven at the expense of two minority superheroes (who aren’t really built up so the critique is quite shallow), or how Black Noir has been a marginalised black man this whole time and both the teams he was a part of brutalised him, or how we never follow up on Nadia’s kid after she is basically forced to receive power, or how Ryan, who looks at least 12 or 13, acts like a toddler and seemingly forgives the father who literally abused him in the previous season and who he left behind because of one speech and he also abandons Butcher at the drop of a hat too, whereas M.M.s daughter is portrayed as an understanding daughter who forgives her father and sticks with him despite his outbursts. Ryan at the end is now following in his father’s footsteps despite the fact that his mother taught him and was with him longer than his father. The whole dynamic between Soldier Boy, Homelander and Ryan is done awfully. Maeve’s actions are always dubious but her revenge plot quickly turns to sacrifice so she can be cleansed of her actions. Even Nadia’s actions are done to protect her daughter, even if she is portrayed as a cutthroat politician. Starlight can do no wrong in this season. Not once. But Hughie’s feelings are disregarded as mere insecurity and intimidation by Starlight because he can’t accept that Starlight is stronger than him, even though it wasn’t a problem before. Now he can’t even open jam jars? What’s that about? Even Kimiko is seen as a good person even though she is literally a monster and has been the whole time. Frenchie’s growth compared to hers literally makes no sense, we’ve never seen him as a puppet before, but now he’s a bitch that gets pegged by his boss? Even him ‘taking control of his situation’ is seen as a joke as he is shot down because his shouting is meant to be a punchline for some unfunny joke, but Kimiko’s growth is taken very seriously, especially when she receives Compound V once again. Even Frenchie’s supposed skills are never put into practice, every single time he is saved by Kimiko, even when she doesn’t have powers. We’ve never even seen a flashback of his past to identify with what he used to do, but it’s merely left to our imagination. This is not to say that I expect the writers to be unbiased or not inject their political beliefs into their show. But, they should at least be honest about what they are doing. At many times I was frustrated, because we know they can do it better and be more subtle in their writing. I’m not a right-wing person, hell, I’m not even American, but even I can tell what the writers believe about the world and what message they are pushing. They are free to push it, as long as they do it in a smart and subtle way.

People fail to see that, they only see them making fun of the side they favor. They're 100% making fun of both sides equally and showing how crazy both extreme left and rights are
