Top 10 "Trust Me Bro" Commanders

I played Brago as my only deck for 2 years. from casual up to cedh and what I've learned is: Generally speaking, people who play Brago play him in a way thats not fun for the rest of the table. it'd generally either all value and 10 minute turns with no win conditions, or every stax pieces available and no win conditions I say this to really emphasize my last paragraph. there are, I believe, 11 different ways to play Brago and the most common ways are Blink value or Stax. He's not known for anything else despite how open ended his ability can be Brago generally wants to play cards that only deny resources upon ETB such as Rishadan footpad and win by going infinite with strionic Resonator. if you don't build him well and pilot him well, the pre game action becomes not letting Brago untap

@g4greed502 totally agree and well articulated! I tried my best but it's hard to put into exact words what the "trust me bro" mentality really is, but I do feel all 10 of these apply in their own ways. Some commanders just have that reputation, and tbh i think the one ive had the most run-ins with personally of people either intentional or not, misrepresenting the power level of their deck, is probably Lord Windgrace. "This is totally tame its completely fine" but ive reached the point personally where if I see Windgrace, my immediate thought is "alright well i better bring out a deck with plentiful responses to make then"

@@AvidHerpetologist Now do you keep any or just herp in the wild? Due to my location there’s not many wild species so I ended up mostly keeping. Nerodia are my favorite however

I have a Hingeback Tortoise i keep at home, but in the 11 years ive spent working in the Zoo and Aquarium industry, ive had the privilege of working as a Herps volunteer in the Baltimore Aquarium's rainforest exhibit (which is where my current channel pic comes from, one of the two smooth-fronted caiman, crocodillians are my favorite), as well as critically endangered Panamanian Golden Frogs, an experience i will forever treasure. Dueing my time there i also spent 5 years working in Marine Animal Rescue working with rehabbing Sea Turtles, and have a good relationship with the herps team at the Zoo i still work at part-time as an educator 😊 needless to say reptiles have been a lifelong passion of mine haha

@@AvidHerpetologist sounds amazing, where I am there’s not much for herping nor is there many zoos nearby. The one zoo nearby has a small collection of reptiles than I do. Pretty much the only thing they have that you can’t find at Petco or petsmart is an alligator. So captive keeping is my best option for variety

He was strongly considered 😂 he could even be argued to fit the mold of the potential Eldrazi commander. Personally i think Urza decks that go for actual factual artifact creature wins are a ton of fun, but we all know thats not how most of them are guna do it 😅

What, Blind Seer? What does he do?

@Interesting_Failure alot of the same as some of the ones I mentioned- -he synergizes disgustingly well with stax cards, Winter Orb and Static Orb are practically auto-includes because Urza can tap them before your turn, sheltering you from the effect -hes also an infinite mana sink, so pretty much all of the same talking points as Thrasios

@@AvidHerpetologist It's Urza Lord High Artificer's 2nd ability that's particularly egregious (EVERY artifact you control is effectively a mana rock with Urza out). You could make a deck with Urza, 39 islands, and a random selection of 60 U/C artifacts and STILL have a decent chance of winning.

At least with Zedruu there are other options. With Jon Irenicus and Beamtown Bullies you're all but required to go mean.
