Top 10 Wing Chun Wooden Dummy Techniques and Fighting Applications of the Muk Jong or Mu Ren Zhuang. I love adding the Wooden Dummy or Wooden Man to my training in Chinese Kung Fu. The Mu Ren Zhuang or Muk Jong is fantastic for close range fighting, bone strength, and hand speed! In Mandarin The Wooden Man is Pronounced "Mu Ren Zhuang" in Cantonese the Wooden Dummy is pronounced "Muk Yan Jong". No matter what you call it, this Wing Chun training device is superb and is a traditional training tool of Chinese Martial Arts especially in the South of China! Just because a few cocky martial artists who bit off more than they could chew the name seems to be "ruined". I understand Ancient doest mean its effective as we see from Tai Chi, good exercise but dont recommend going into a fight with it. Im just saying these people are judging a martial art thats been used correctly and aided many MMA fighters and in general martial artists shouldnt be soiled by a bunch of no names on the internet. My god that was long and if it seems like I attacked you with this info. You are right about Ancient not meaning effective but im just say its been proven for a long time to be an efficient martial art

@@dt4514 well said. And with someone who practices martial arts, they aren't going in with these moves as a plan. Some people get the idea that they think "oh if they do this then I'll do that", or they also think "boards don't hit back", but it's all about muscle memory. It's like playing the piano or guitar, or doing parkour. This includes boxers like Mike Tyson, which boxing is also a martial art. And regardless of how efficient a martial art is for fighting, chances are someone who actually practices one will be better prepared in a fight than someone who doesn't and just thinks they "don't need fancy moves".

1:01 you can't just hit their hands out of the way and expect to throw chains of strikes or punches. Obviously since you use your two hands to hit, the opponent has his hands free.

I think you should humbly follow most people advice and try to get a Sifu to teach you properly Wing Chun, I love your motivation and passion, but sadly you're doing everything wrong, and like said other people under (sometime not in a nice way), you might get hurt one day or let your student get hurt, you should seriously follow the guideline that you put in your video, understand that we can all improve, and for that, we need someone to show us the way, so again, humbly, and I'm saying this for you (I have an amazing Sifu correcting me everyday in my mistakes and helping me to improve), find a Sifu and learn Wing Chun, you will be amazed by the subtlety and beauty of it :) Regards.

I think whats most upsetting. Is not that this isnt wing chun, but the fact that the people in the comments are being so cruel and disrespectful towards this dude. A massive part of wing chun and kung fu in general is being respectful and understanding. Sure folk might say he's being disrespectful for claiming this is wing chun when it isnt... but by shouting abuse at him through the comments folk arn't much better. At least the dude in the video is making an effort to better himself and I'm glad to see he isn't retaliating in the comments.

I love Mook Jung training and do it every day! You inspired me several years ago when I first saw these videos. I actually built my own wooden dummy and now train with it daily. The benefits are many and amazing. Nobody wants to do arm conditioning exercises with my son and I (he trains with it daily too) because our arms are used to hitting hard maple. Plus, it really drills the techniques into us and they quickly become muscle memory. The best part, the wooden dummy never gets tired and never complains! Thank you for being an inspiration and for sharing your passion with us.

Sadly it is not Kung Fu, which roughly translates ”refined skill through diligent work”. Nor is it Tai Chi, which is a very specific name for a martial arts method and practice that is represented by numerous family lineages both famous and obscure.

Can You please explain to everyone how you are teaching Wing Chun Techniques when YOU never learned wing chun in your life? i really don't think you should label what you are doing as "WING CHUN" since it is your own mess that you are teaching. This isn't Wing Chun. Watch a video of Yip Man or Yip Chun doing the dummy form. You can use a dummy for training, but don't pass off what you're showing as Wing Chun. Real Wing Chun sifus and practitioners would be disgusted by you selling something with the same name as our art.

Real wing chun still gets you smashed in mma. Different way of training methods. On the ground wing chun is not strong enough. Also the stance and boxing is to dated. But hey just to protect you're selve on the street it probably saves you.
