I truly enjoy your videos and podcast episodes. The video production is great as well, everything molds together very nicely and from what I can garner you guys play off each other well. Keep it up, gentlemen!
I remember playing Day Of Reckoning as a kid and suddenly all the nostalgia started rushing back... One of my favorite games on my old GameCube. Great list bro!
For me (based on the wrestling games I've played), the best ones are: WWE SmackDown! Here Comes the Pain WWE SmackDown! vs. Raw 2006 WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2007 WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2008 WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2009
Man... Smackdown vs raw 06... The nostalgia is real man! I remember renting that when it came out and instantly bought it afterwards. Wished I could go back and relive that. Buying it now wouldn't be the same.
Byte That Wrestling Podcast Shut your mouth has the best season mode. And you bumped one of the best wrestling games to get wwe 13 into the top 10? A game with no 2 counts, a shitty universe mode that makes no sense and has 2 rivals facing each other every week let alone have any story at all, and countless glitches? Come on..
lightfm I agree that he should have included Shut Your Mouth as near the best, but I disagree on your assault against WWE 13 - this one is by far one of the best they have released in years.
Each to their own. But No Mercy still puts to shame just about every wrestling game. Come to think of it, the WWE games have been pretty much the same since 2006. The graphics got a bit better, the roster changed and we had some new stupid button sequences, yay.
AKI need to do there own game include all wrestlers and let the fans make the content. Focus on giving players tools to create there own matches and stories etc, this is the next logical step in wrestling games.
@@paxhumana2015 What Aki really needs to do today is to abandon their 'Syn Sophia" name and cease the production of this casual girly game called "Style Savvy", we need a new wrestling game coming off from them and from their legendary physics engine.
My Top 10 Wrestling Games 1. WWF No Mercy 2. Smackdown HCTP 3. Smackdown SYM 4. Day Of Reckoning 5. WCW/NWO Revenge 6. Smackdown Vs Raw 06 7. Wrestlemania 2000 8. Virtual Pro Wrestling 2 9. Smackdown 2 10. WCW Vs. NWO WT
Dee指空有 Giant Gram on the Dreamcast is the best wrestling game ever made, that nobody in the U.S. got to play. It's an All Japan Pro Wrestling game. I used to have a Japanese Dreamcast to play it.
Which ever smack down game was the first to let you do back stage fights and had a career mode was my favorite. Can't remember if it was ps1 or ps2 it was so long ago lol doing hardcore matches and TLC and battle royales were really fun
I think I'm the only one who loved WWE Smackdown vs Raw 2008 it is one of my favourite WWE games and it's never on these lists which is a shame because it's such a good game in my opinion
my favourites- here comes the pain, no mercy, shut your mouth, wrestlemania 2000, svr 2006. there was one where you could stunner someone off the roof of the cell. might be svr 2007.
Mdickie's games are fun to play. The premise of the game is pretty a good idea. You start off from wrestling school and work your way to get signed. Having to train in order to keep up your stats and excel in wrestling. The more matches you the more popular you become. The more popular you become the easier it is to get signed and the more money you get paid. The game does have it flaws but overall it's a good wrestling. The size of the roster is larger than any thing WWE has ever done. The customization is limitless and very easy to do as far as customizing graphics. If you know how to 3D model than customization of the arena and characters is pretty simple too. It lacks in match variety but that is about it. The things Mpiremall and few others have done with the game is phenomenal.
+WrestlingDynasty So the premise...nothing that WWE 2K15 and 16 don't do now, replace the "wrestling school" with the performance centre and it's the same...the money/popularity system is easy to exploit....hold N when making contracts and go to the main menu to edit your character's stats. the roster is "large" but of generic ripoffs of WWE, WCW, ECW and Japanese wrestlers the only unique thing is Mdickie's "creations" for Fed Online...and they can be just as ripped off as the other characters are. customization is far more limited then in any of the main far more played WWE games as you have a limit on music, taunts, looks even move sets. the only pluses are that the game is free and is the ease of modding his crappy game to something a bit more palatable and the fact the AI and overall games glitches and weirdness can be hilarious, but that doesn't make for great gameplay. Watch simosimo's playthrough of Mpire Remix and you get the sense it's barely anything more then a comedy game. But great game....sorry....no where near close to truthful there. That's like saying ET for the Atari 2600 was a masterpiece of great gameplay.
His game was created before WWE 2k15 and 16 had those features implemented in them. Most of these features are in current wwe games ,but most of these features that were in Mat's games predate any of the WWE games where they're in(2004 - 2008). The premise of the you going through your journey as a wrestler starting from wrestling school , while an on going universe still happens maybe not have been a unique concept but it was the only game wrestling game at the time to do it. Yes the graphics aren't the best and taunts and move sets are limited but that's only if you don't know how to mod the game. (Which is pretty easy ) If you know how to mod the game than the customization of the characters , arena , move sets , taunts , breakable objects , and weapons are limitless. Music isn't that limited either you can hold a good amount of tracks in the game just need to convert them to the right formatting which is WAV. The only feature that has limits is the match types that is it. You're perspective of the game is for what it is now comparing it to today's WWE 2k video games. I'm looking at it for what it was in 2004-2008. A wrestling game with a large roster, on going universe , easy customization and modding , and over all fun to play. Like I stated before the premise of the game for it's time was great. I admit it could have been executed better but over all it's still a good game.
WWF Attitude had something special in it, the fun of hurting people and listening to them screaming and begging for mercy while bleeding from several spots is just the ultimate fun.
Richie Krauss WCW vs NWO games and Wrestlemani 2000 share the same engine as WWF No Mercy. No Mercy was the most refined of all 4 so it made the top out of the 4. That's what i'm guessing at least.
+BooUrns , here is my list. 10. WCW Nitro 9. WCW Vs. the World 8. WWF Smack Down 2: Know Your Role 7. Def Jam Vendetta 6. Legends of Wrestling II 5. WWE Smack Down: Here Comes the Pain 4. WWE Smack Down: Shut Your Mouth 3. WWE: Day of Reckoning 2. Fire Pro Wrestling Returns 1. WWF No Mercy
I would add WCW NWO Revenge just for the roster. It may not have the game modes of No Mercy, but the in ring action is still very good. WM19 for Gamecube looks interesting.
the only wrestling game series youll ever need (start with FPW X on the Super Famicom then move on to the 2 GBA games FPW A/A2, The Wonderswan game, FPW S on the Saturn, FPW D on the Dreamcast, FPW G on the PSX, ignore the PCengine games and the 3 Super Fami games before X/X Premium and the terrible FPW Iron Slam 96', thyen finish it off with FPW R on the ps2/ps3 on PSN
My list: 10. WWE SvR 2009 9. wcw vs nwo 8. wwf wm2000 7.wwe svr 2010 6. MDickie wrestling mpire 2004 5. wwe smackdown here comes the pain 4. wwe raw 2 3. wwf no mercy 2. mdickie wrestling mpire 2008 1. wwe 13

WCW Vs. The World for PS1 was one of my most favorite games ever... They had a ton of international stars, they just couldn't use their names... One of the unlockables was a Bruiser Brody look alike, just a brilliant game. The action was great, and they had a lot of great moves that could be used... I loved being The Great Muta... A wrestling game for true wrestling fans
No Mercy and Here Comes The Pain are interchangeably 1 & 2. SvR 2006 is up there too along with WCW Revenge & WWF Attitude. Also Smackdown Just Bring It.
+akensons Gameplay and roster wise, it was considered a great game for it's time. Scored mostly between 7 & 8 out of 10.... and was nominated by Spike for best Fighting Game in 03.
akensons The one game I'm shocked didn't make their list for customization is Raw 2. I played the crap out of Raw 2 and made tons of great looking wrestlers with a ton of custom stuff.
I'm kinda surprised WWE '12 isn't on this list. In my opinion, it's still the best wrestling game of the WWE line of games which started with WWE '12. It had an original story mode and began the create an arena/finisher/story trend. The gameplay I thought was very smooth and the graphics were sharp, tying the game up perfectly well. I do agree that WWF No Mercy for N64, HCTP and SvR06 were and still are great titles.
1991awest We'd actually like to work on an updated version down the line (after WWE2K16 comes out and add WWE2K14 because it came out after this video and it's a great game!
People who keep saying WWE2K15 needs to be on this list and/or say it should be number 1, have obviously never played any other wrestling game and/or are too young to know any better.
I think people slag 2k15 off though. It's a solid game. It was the first one for next gen so of course some problems will occur. If it's played on 360 or PS3 it's just like the previous wwe 2k games
I think what diservs to be on this list is WWE Smackdown vs Raw cause even though I didn't play it a lot it was really cool cause for the first time we hear the superstars voices for the first time
For me, the best wrestling video game of all Time is WWE Smackdown vs. Raw. I played that game for years. Still do when I have a chance to rip the ol PS2 out. That game to me was awesome. My second best ever. Is WWF Smackdown. I remember having so much fun playing that game as a kid on the PS1
In my opinion Smackdown Here comes the pain should be listed as #1. The reason is that it gave you more freedom than most of the other games. I played all playstation wrestling games up until Smackdown vs Raw 2012. I felt that each year they tried to make a better version of the game at the cost of something else. Here comes the pain was by far my favorite followed by shut your mouth. These games gave you freedom such as free rome around the arena, locker rooms, subways as well as following and changing your path with different decisions within season mode. I wish they would have kept the way they had season mode for here comes the pain where you could talk to the gm and either switch shows or challenge for a title. This of course does not include the CAW aspect of the game as I was not too fond of spending hours creating the perfect fictional wrestler, while creating myself almost to a tee in the game was fun it was more fun to use Lesnar and demolish everyone through season mode then redo it as the rock or undertaker and face Lesnar as he would still be champ.
1. SmackDown! Know Your Role 2. SmackDown! Here Comes The Pain 3. Smackdown vs Raw 2006 4. Smackdown vs Raw 5. Smackdown vs Raw 2007 6. Smackdown! Shut Your Mouth 7. WWF No Mercy 8. WWF Wrestlemania 2000 9. WWF Smackdown! 10. Smackdown! Just Bring It
I loved numbers one and ten. Sure the Attitude Era in WWE '13 wasn't exactly perfect, certain things were left out during matches and events where a person or thing should have been, but I still enjoy it...although, for the Wii copies of the game no DLC was available for purchase and therefore ruined said version slightly. (For example: You can play Undertaker with the Ministry them in the Brothers of Destruction era but he doesn't have the correct outfit, or at least not at all similar to the DLC addition, and therefore can't be played outside of the Attitude Era.) People have actually poked fun at me for showing that I still use an Xbox 360 to play Smackdown vs. Raw 2006 in 2016 but hey, those were some good times.
+doctordrizzay No Mercy is an awesome game, we just had to think of all the factors as to why we loved '06. Online play between us was so much fun... plus, messing with tables! - Juan
+Byte That Wrestling Channel , you SHOULD play Virtual Pro Wrestling and, for what it is worth, Fire Pro Wrestling D and Fire Pro Wrestling Returns are the best of the Fire Pro Wrestling series, so, yes, you SHOULD give them a chance.
As far as the SmackDown vs. Raw 2006 at #1 goes, I personally never thought so. It was the only game in the SmackDown series I had never purchased, even after having rented and played it. I enjoyed SvR 2007 so much more, even in recent years. 2007 may be my 2nd favorite of the Playstation Wwe games
Smackdown Vs. Raw was no doubt the best series of WWE games. Once 2K bought the video game franchise it went downhill from there. Although I will say they have a great new interactive universe mode.
Smackdown vs raw 2009! And also 2008 ONLY because it had a good soundtrack. 2009 you could pick what your person could do in the entrance and it had so many Amzing match kinds you could do like anything you could even look at superstars road to WM I have it so awesome should have been on the list plus so many superstars and divas to pick from you could even make them wear a belt and one of the entrance things was if you didn't like a sign you could wrap it apart in your entrance you could bring a manager at ringside so much more put it on the list
wwf no mercy will always be the best Wrestling game of all time! Thanks to Project 64 on my windows 10 pc, I can now use mods, etc. to keep no mercy up to date. Let alone the Wrestlers can be edited to begin with! The gameplay is perfect. I remember when it first came out for N64, the Graphics were incredible! They should make an HD Remaster for Xbox One/ps4, I would buy it!
