I really appreciate your content and im interested in hearing your thoughts on this matter since you live in Dubai. Let's say one started investing in Etf with trade Republic and after 10 years for example he decided to move to Dubei, should you then sell ur position and pay taxes in Europe and then register in a UAE broker to buy the same position that u were in, or u can transfer ur position to a broker that works in Dubai ! But then u might considered that u dodging paying taxes to the European country, because if u sell ur position in Dubai u won't pay taxes! Or u can stay on the same broker and just change ur residency in the broker! But then if u sell ur Etf in the future, the taxes problem could appear! I don't know how these things work but i see a lot of people and youtubers and traders using the same broker although they travel alot and they do trading on the way also. I don't want to procrastinate to start investing because i may change the country in the future. im interested to hear ur thoughts about this issue.

Hi and thanks a lot, really appreciate that 🙌 You are right, it's not that easy and I can't give you a 100% answer as it depends on many different factors and most importantly your country of residence and their tax laws. As a general guidance if you relocate and you have a broker that operates in your new country of residence you can just move your portfolio with them under your new address that would be the easiest. Trade Republic for example does not operate in UAE you can still use them but if ever they ask you to verify your address for some reason you might have an issue so make sure your broker allows portfolio transfers to another broker. As for selling, in most cases, if you've left your old country for more than 6 months in a calendar year, they cannot ask for tax payments after that, but again, might differ from country to country. Hope this helps. Cheers

@SmartMoneywithKai Thanks that was insightful, I appreciate you so much my friend. so I thing it will be like a good strategy lets to transfer ur position let's say to" interactive broker" even before relocating and then when u relocate u just need to edit in the same broker ur place of residence and then wait 6 months after u add the new address and then u can sell ur position safely and get taxed in the new country, it might need a good old fashioned "Gutachter" to avoid problem 😁 but theoretical am I right!! So just one can start with a clear mind for now with trade Republic and this strategy will come later!

I think a separate broker comparison video would be very useful . It’s impossible to do all of them in detail , all the fees or the countries they operate , but it would help a lot of people . Also may I suggest some sources to help each one do he’s own research? As always thank you for the great work !

Awesome, thanks for your feedback Giannis and some great points. Indeed, hard to do it for all possible brokers, but will pick a few of the most commonly available one's and share my feedback/ranking on those. Cheers 👋

I think Trade Republic is the best broker for European investors

@@daafeedowchannel4056 I got Trade Republic and I love it to keep my emergency funds, but I also have trading 212, it seems better for investing, it's just one thing that I get a little skeptical, it's being regulated in Crypsuss 🤔.

I am with you on that, both are great at different things, but for investing I am also with you that T212 offers better options. And Cyprus, haha, I feel you on that one 😂

Same with those Crypto exchanges, when I check a lot of them registered in... Seychelles..., well at least it would be a nice holiday trip if I need to go there to claim back my money 😉
