The harmonies on room of mirrors, and too far gone are 2 of my favorites from Metallica ( of their most recent albums) and not to mention the harmony in all nightmare long is pretty nice too
the through the never version of Orion is my favorite way to listen to that song because that empty arena they play in creates this atmosphere and ambience that just touches my soul and it's beautiful
I was wondering the entire video whether you were gonna include To Live is to Die, and then i was satisfied when it was ranked 1. Personally my favorite harmony has to be the first one in Orion, just because i think it means something special to me. The first time i heard it it genuinely altered my brain chemistry, i felt like i was levitating. Just for that first harmony Orion is my favorite instrumental of all time, and my favorite song from MOP album.
I'm so glad to see someone else give to live is to die the attention it's always deserved, even though it's the least popular song on ajfa it's always been my favorite metallica song both for it's beautiful tribute to the legacy of Cliff Burton but also just for how hard those harmonies and cleans pull on your heart strings, it's like the guitars themselves are feeling the emotions that each of the band members themselves were feeling
Incredible list despite how difficult it is to pick even 15 favorites. I agree with most of these picks, but would probably include battery into, and justice for all harmony sections, and blackened pre solo section. Fight fire with fire harmony solo is definitely one of the greatest and to live is to die is a solid #1 spot.
The harmony section of "Inamorata" reminds me of the more mellow and 'drifty' parts of Pink Floyd's: "The Dark Side of the Moon" album. It's so good regardless.
Inamorata can be a good introduction into the next Metallica album. We nedd long 2 - cd album with long epic, instrumental tracks and some short songs like "hardwired to self destruct" and even something accoustic - New accoustic version of Blackened is wounderful.
You don't have Battery intro in top 15. That one is one of the greatest ever and truly genius. You had like Disposable Heroes and Damage Inc and shit and not Battery?! And Blackened intro so low pains me, imo it's their greatest alongside Battery.
My Ranking 15. The Struggle Within 14. The Call Of Ktulu 13. Orion (2nd Harmony) 12. Blackened 11. ...And Justice For All (After Solo Harmony) 10. ...And Justice For All (Outro Harmony) 9. One (Outro Harmony Solo) 8. Fade To Black 7. Orion (Bass Solo) 6. One (Bridge Harmony) 5. Fight Fire With Fire 4. Master Of Puppets 3. To Live Is To Die 2. Orion (1st Harmony) 1. Inamorata (Say what you will, it's my new favorite)
Cliff was a huge part of Metallica. Cliff WAS and still IS Metallica. His influence shaped the band to be what it is today. But just subtract the load era and st anger
