I really love the way you speak! I read the casual vacancy a few months ago (finally) and I found it so different to her other writing, but I really liked it. Its nice to see other styles of writing from authors you grow up with. Great video, thanks for the book ideas!
Hello! You are by far my favourite booktuber. I love watching your videos! 😄 You seem to have the same taste in books as me and I love taking recommendations from your videos. Keep making em 😊 Also can't wait for your reviews on these books!
Shadow of the Wind is fantastic!! You will love it! Burial Rites is also on my must-read list for 2016. I am currently reading The Night Circus, which several people now have told me is one of their favorite books.
I've heard amazing things about The Shadow of the Wind! I'll have to pick it up and see for myself. So glad I found your channel; you've got some great books on this list :)
Great books! There's a couple I haven't heard of but they sound really interesting I may have to add them to my TBR as well :P Well good luck on reading all of these I hope you throughly enjoy them!
Carry on is so good just finished it. I love rainbow rowell books I have read three of hers! All the Light we cannot see is one of those books that is so well written and it sucks you in and makes you sad its done.
I have so many of the same books I need to read, especially Night Film and Shadow of the Wind. Vicious is AMAZING, I absolutely loved it! And I'm also reading the Casual Vacancy now and it's pretty good, hope you get to finish most of these :)
I was actually tempted to watch Atonement because of James McAvoy ;) and once I finished the movie I immediately picked up the book and my lord...that books was beautiful! The way Ian McEwan writes is so poetic and beautiful and insightful, and of course the story is heartbreaking. I read it about two years ago and the books has stuck with me ever since. I really hope you enjoy it because it is such a wonderful book :)
I loved A Monster Calls, Uprooted and In Perfect Light, so I hope you enjoy all of those reads! They are three very different books, but all captured my feelings in one aspect or another. I've been meaning to read Night Film for so long too. I actually started it and made it like 30% through and I don't know what happened after that. I have a hold on The Casual Vacancy at the library so, now that I'm out of Cormoran Strike novels to read, that'll be up next from Rowling.
Ahh! I want to read so many of the same books... Vicious, The Rest of Us Just Live Here, The Gracekeepers... ahhh, I still haven't read The Night Circus and I really want to! I'm about to browse your videos to see if you have a review. :) Great video! xx
A Monster Calls is so great, heartbreaking but great! Vicious was one of my favorites of last year. I would love to read Simon vs The Homo Sapiens Agenda soon too because I've heard such incredible things about it.
I really want to read Burial Rites and I hope I could get around to reading it. I own both A Monster Calls and The Rest Of Just Live here and still yet to read them. I adored Vicious and Uprooted. They are absolutely fantastic books. We have similar taste in books and I know you'll love them both! :)
I actually want to read Vicious (and the rest of Victoria Schwab's novels) this year! I've only ever read her debut novel, The Near Witch, and really liked that one. And I'm kind of looking forward to reading her other stories! I haven't read The Casual Vacancy yet either, even though I also got it when it came out. I'm quite curious about this novel, but I'm also quite hesitant because it's so different from HP. Still, I should definitely read this! And I too have not yet read All the Light We Cannot See. I picked it up last year because of one of my best friends, but it's just been languishing on my shelf. I intended to read it last year, but it didn't happen... Perhaps this year? Off the top of my head, I definitely plan on reading Emma, A Tree Grows in Brooklyn and Jane Eyre. Classics, I shall conquer you! Anyway... Happy reading! ;)
YAY SO EXCITED FOR UPROOTED. I've seriously been having a terrible, rampant craving for that book but I've been holding myself back because I NEED TO WAIT UNTIL MAGICAL MARCH
+PixieTonic Me too!! It may be that they both have beautiful covers but I agree, I feel like it's going to have Ava Lavender vibes too. I can't wait! :D
my top 3 are: the raven king (I'm a huge fan of the raven cycle series and this is the last book......I can tell there will be tears) winger (I've been meaning to read this one for a while because everyone always raves about it but i just never got around to it) the night watch (no reason other than I love sarah waters but I haven't read this one yet) also, let us know what you thought about carry on! I've never read any rainbow rowell either and carry on does seem like the only one of her books that is my kinda of thing
If you are a reader, you should try site “fetching lobon only” (Google it) as well. There are several books you could read here. It provides fictional or non-fictional stories, or any reading material which will help enliven your mood. Not as responsive as an actual book, but its the next ideal thing. Love how the books are setup like someone just photo copied them in.
Not sure if you're going to include it in your series video, but you need to read The Wrath and the Dawn!! Its so good and the sequel comes out in the spring I think :) I just checked out Uprooted from the library! I checked out The Museum of Extraordinary Things too, because it kind of gave me Night Circus vibes. Not sure if the two are really related but it sounds good, so you might want to check that out!!
+Heather Nelson A few people have actually recommended that one to me so I definitely need to check it out! Also yes! The Wrath and the Dawn will be on my list :D
I've been really wanting to read Vicious, The Night Circus, and Uprooted. I've actually read both The Rest of Us Just Live Here and Carry On! TROUJLH (whoa that's a mouthful) was actually a bit of a disappointment compared to the high expectations that I had, but it was still a fairly good read. Carry On was just AMAZING. It totally changed me. I actually wrote a blog post about it, explaining why I started to blog and why I still do, haha. -Amy
I don't mind sad books as long as the ending is happy. Wish I could read more sad books but alas my heart, it cannot take it. Could you do a recommendations on books that have a sad beginning but happy and satisfying ending?
My top three are The Name of the Wind, Sorcerer to the Crown and Warbreaker. I adored All the Light We Cannot See, its a beautiful, beautiful book. I also have A Constellation of Vital Phenomena, my sister bought it for me for Christmas so I'm hoping to pick it up soon. I've heard great things about Burial Rights so hopefully you'll end up enjoying it if you get to it.
My top three FAVORITE BOOKS ARE 1. The Great Gatsby 2. Everything Everthing 3. Early Sunday Morning: The Pearl Harbor Diary by Amber Pillows Hawaii , 1941 _______________
To anyone who liked The Night Circus, I highly recommend The watchmaker of Filigree Street by Natasha Pulley :) It's the same vide, the same magical atmosphere...and really enjoyable
For me, I want to read The Night Circus this year to see if it lives up to my high expectations or not. I've heard it's quite similar to my favourite book of all time so we'll see...When it's released in paperback I'll get Uprooted. I really dislike the UK hardcover and although the picture will probably be the same wishy washy picture I won't have to pay as much for it. I don't think this is a stand alone but I'm not sure...I want to read Legacy Of Kings by Eleanor Herman, which tells the story of Alexander the Great as he grows up. There's only one book atm.
First book that you should read is the one you borrowed from your friend. Come on, it's been with you for at least 6 months? Even if your friend's cool with it, you shouldn't push it.
+Abigail Bell agreed! a short blurb about the plot of the story is more effective than talking about why you didn't pick up every book in the past. You've got a great selection! And as a viewer I'd love to know more about the books bc I haven't heard about many of them. Just a suggestion to improve your TBRs :) great work though!
Ok, I compared books with you on Goodreads. Here are the top books that I have read that you have on your to-read list. Classics: The Lord of the Rings, Anne of Green Gables. Fantasy/YA: Graceling, Cinder.
There are so many amazing books I have been wanting to read but keep putting it off. I have done the same with The Casual Vacancy by J.K. Rowling in the sense of I do not know why I have not read it yet.
