Join us for KYD Coffee ☕️ These are smaller meet-ups with the KYD Insiders / keepyourdaydream
We love the big meet-ups, but they take a lot of planning and preparation. KYD Coffee is fun and easy.
ℹ️About the episode: We mentioned in last week’s Alaska recap that the drive home from Alaska was much harder, but it didn't have to be that way! It was our fault for being in a hurry, running low on groceries, waiting until the last minute to get fuel and driving late into the night. All these little bad decisions compiled and created fatigue and grumpy moods.
How did we kill the endless hours driving in the truck? Coming up with the Top 10 Ways to Ruin Your RV Trip. We hope you get just one idea that will help you on your next RV trip.

"Memories and joy," you guys taught him right. That's what traveling is about. When the kids say that, it's priceless. Great Episode. Wish I could get the wife and kids onboard to travel full time. Back in AZ? It's a beautiful fall!

Love your videos! I have lived in Vancouver most of my life. The glass on the buildings is all the same colour because of City Bylaws . They have allowed a few variations in recent years with the new downtown casino. I really enjoyed your Alaskan trip. I'm looking forward to your next adventure.

Your 10 ways list is right on. We have been traveling since April, not in a hurry, winging it for overnight places, mostly small Rv parks and state parks, Today, for the heck of it, we drove thru Petrified Forest Nat. Park, hiked a bit, had a fun unplanned day before driving to our winter base.

Funny story about arriving to a campground at night...... A year or so ago we ended up pulling into a private campground outside of Tahoe pretty late (after dark). The host had been in pretty close contact with us all afternoon, which seemed strange . When we arrived he comes out with his flashlight to tell us where are site was. First thing out of his mouth is, "Oh good you have four wheel drive" 🤔😯 😂 Not what you want to hear after a long day of travel and a trailer behind you. It ended up OK. Just a back in up a dirt hill and then down the longest site we have seen to this day with trees on both sides and a drop off at the end. My husband handled it like a champ, and no one had to apologize for anything they said while backing the trailer 😂🤣

I can’t tell you how important it is and how much I appreciate the respect you two have for each other’s (main) responsibilities....for instance it is so hard as a mom to keep everybody fed and have food on hand to be prepared when the husband has to fight about letting me go get groceries, then is angry because there is no meal when you get to your destination (home, camping, traveling)....ugh, I’m so glad those days are over ! Now the kids are grown, he’s an ex and I buy too many groceries 🙄 Anyhow your respect for each other and for your children is very evident and very refreshing !!!

2 things I agree with on this video! We like to get a pizza when we get somewhere (camping or not) because everyone is usually wore out. I also park the same way for the same reason. I also try to angle my truck to where it’s pointed out just in case you have someone who is inconsiderate!

Welcome back to the lower 48! Your top 10 list is pretty spot on. Weve been full timing for 17 months. On travel days we like to order delivery for supper. We too, dont rush things, we tend to make mistakes when we rush to set up or break camp. One thing we are very different from you guys is we always have reservations made. We are a tad OCD about that. We find great comfort in knowing we will have a place to stay at days end. Anyways you guys rock your videos! Love watching them!

Just another fantastic video. And it could’ve been two or three. Really appreciated your top 10 list. Maybe do it again sometime and expand even further with more details and reasons. I will be traveling solo and I can’t even flippin’ imagine how you all coordinate your travels with a family of 4 to5 people! Kudos! Such a funny border crossing with the whole citrus inquiry and specific questions to the teenagers. I learned to go slowly when I did a 6 week road trip in a 69 VW bus back in the 90’s, so will have no problem not rushing along once I am full-timing 🤗 🌈 But again, it will be just me and a negotiation-free experience 😂 Always look forward to your Sunday videos. Do keep them coming please! 💕😎

Great GREAT GREAT Tips. Tip #6 is our pet peeve. On our trip home from California to PA this month, we stopped every night in the dark. We were so tired and stressed by the time we got to PA we made a pact we would not travel that way again no matter what the circumstances were. Now we are on our trip to Arizona (Quartzsite) and we are in a campground by 2 pm. And we are taking a month to get there!

On parking in a lot, I pull a variety of different length trailers from 14’-48’ everyday in a city setting and find parking in a lot like you do good practice; I just take up more of the parking space in front of you by pulling in deep to the passenger side curb and turning the truck to the left so the truck is out of line with the trailer. This assures me that no one will block me in from the front and I am set up already to pull out of the parking spaces. It also takes up less spaces. 😉.ps I have been on board from your first flat tire on RT 17 heading up to Flagstaff.

So true about arriving after dark! We always try not to but often wind up doing it. We try to be as quiet as possible and approach with minimal lighting when we approach in the dark out of respect of those who may not want headlights shined in their faces at the campfire, or in their tend or windows if they are sleeping.

"Ford F-450". My Dad purchased an F-350 back in 1999, found an outfit in Florida that made Ford badges, so he relabeled his F-350 an F-550. A month later I purchased mine (F-350 Dually) and immediately had it labeled an F-650. One-upmanship is alive and well. Now, with an early '99 with only 100k on the odometer, I still get looks. That first Nordhavn (I saw what you did there) "Due North" is a charter ($6KUS for two, 5-day trip thru the San Juans) the second (N62/37) is, I believe, "Barrington". Currently on the market. M/V Cassidy is apparently back in the SF Bay Area, nothing on their trip back South, hope all is well. Great wrap-up to the Alaska Voyage with my favorite scene being the momentary look on Trish's face when you mention renting bicycles at 16:34. Priceless. Please share my thanks with the entire family for the most entertaining videos on RU-vid. They have never failed to deliver. Carry on.

And I... well I’m different, I don’t like those things. LOL!
