The goals that Maradona scored against Belgium in 1986 edition also deserved a place in this list! On both the occasions,he somehow managed to balance himself and scored from acute and almost impossible angle.
People almost feel bad having two of Maradona's goals from the same competition on the same list, but the Belgium goal is top 5 of all time for me. At least top 10.
When talking about beating time and space, the cross of Daley Blind and Van Persie literally FLYING, exactly the perfect timing to hit the ball giving it the perfect curve over the goalkeeper.. out of this world ❤️⚽️
Salute to Diego, a man who single handedly won worldcup for an otherwise mediocre team. There was no else worth a mention in the 86 Argentina team. True legend.
The saddest part of life is when the person who gave you the best memories becomes a memory. Thank you for 1986 and over the years.. Never fail to astonish us. Number 10.
As an English kid I remember watching that match live in 1986, I remember thinking "what just happened". Maradona, the most skillful footballer that ever lived. RIP.
I watched it live too. There's no way I wanted Argentina to win. When it was obvious Maradona had used his hand earlier I was incensed. Yet, no matter what, no-one can take away the fact Maradona was a brilliant player and this goal was stunning. From half-way and out of nothing at all, he got into the box and past the keeper all by himself. Worse still, he made it look effortless. That made it even more galling. This goal encompassed everything he ever was and in that moment he was simply unstoppable. Vale Maradona.
You got to remember England was trying to attack because of marradonnas hand of God goal put them in front this allowed the Argentines to spring this offside trap by drawing the English forward had Maradona not scored the hand of God goal th outcome might have been different I thought England played very well in that Match and matched Argentina throughout the match except for the hand of God goal that changed the complextionof the whole Match love Anthony Fed ex lol

Pele', and Maradona, hands down, the two greatest soccer players ever!!⚽⚽ It was always fun to watch these two, and their respective teams they played with. They were both spectacular. RIP Maradona. ✝️🙏
That Eder goal is just incredible....the dummy, the lift, the topspin finish....goalie stranded....he never ever saw anything like it.....and neither did you!!!
Maradona's goal is the best. Not only it is a beautiful goal from technical perspective but also is it all developing nations' support and desires pouring through the pitch
The theme tune "Heroes" for the Corona warriors and Maradona's goal of the century and Victor Hugo Morales's commentary are very apt for me as they helped increase my oxygen saturation levels and helped in my recovery when i was admitted to the hospital and down with Corona. God bless Maradona.. rest in peace! I used to watch the great goals by Maradona when I was really ill..
All goals are great but Maradona goal is incomparable, he got the ball ⚽ more than half of the court and was unstoppable against England 🏴 great defense, still the best R.I.P. D10S
In 1978, Krankl's finishing against West Germany, Cubillas' free kick against Scotland and Nelinho's goal against Italy were as astonishing feats as Arie Haan's screamer.
Such a Glorious Coincidence to have the Two Greatest Players of All Time (Pele & Maradona) to Crown on the Aztec Stadium and have Our Manuel Negrete´s goal named the most beautiful goal of all time.
Hats of to sir diago maradona - all time great legends of greatest game of football. Sir pele & sir maradona cant be ever forgotten till the world ends😊
Missing Cruyff against Brazil '74. Bergkamp is everything I love about football. Look at his body, his arms, everything balanced perfectly in a split second. From a different planet
Classiest striker of all-time showed poise control striked the Ballon the inside of his right foot to get it past the goalkeepers right hand pure class love Anthony Fed ex lol
@@mdluk199 Bergkamp is one of the most elegant players football has ever seen, however far from the level of Maradona. Diego is a top 3 player in history, arguably the goat, Bergkamp isn’t even top 20.
Personally, Bergkamp's goal is in the top 3 World Cup Wonder Goals. And his unique Bergkamp ball touch, in which the ball sticks to the body like a magnet, which had never been seen before, had a great influence on future generations.
The legendary Maradona goal will always forever be the most iconic goal ever scored in a WC, there will be never ever been a beautiful and iconic goal in a football tournament like this again. Farewell champ, Maradona=GOAT 💪💪
Best goal of all time. One thing people don't look at when considering great goals is pressure! Pressure is the reason why most champions league finals are usually boring. Very high stakes involved and nobody wants to be the player to try something different and screw up when the whole world is watching! Maradona did that in a world cup quarter final against at the time the war enemies. Imagine if the got tackled and England broke away and scored? He'd have been crucified back in Argentina and no legend will have come of him. No world cup. So for me to score a goal like that under such pressure makes it the best of all time...
I must admit that I’ve had a hard time believing that Maradonna scored the goal at #1 because most times I saw the defender come from behind to try and tackle him and it felt like he might’ve played a role in the goal. But thank goodness you slowed the clip down and showed the close up for me to see that Maradonna did in fact kick the ball with no interference.
Acho que faltaram dois gols do Brasil, o do Nelinho contra a Itália em 78 e o do Zico meia bicicleta em 82. Agora esse gol do Maradona é uma obra de arte. Perfeição.
Actually, Baresi and Massaro missed their penalties (while Brazil missed just one penalty, by Marcio Santos if I remember correctly), so Baggio's mistake was not a really decisive one.
As a kid watching Maradona was miraculous. He made it look effortless. That’s the key to genius. Something else takes over. He also transcended the sport like few do. Maybe Mohammad Ali and Ayrton Senna. These types are so really rare because for some reason even people that didn’t like football watched when he played. I remember certain family members who would have never watched football all of a sudden were transfixed. It’s something magical he had beyond football that I don’t think people will see again. It’s a mixture of charisma, persona, skill and complete genius. They are all so good to watch from Pete, Best, Zidane, but there’s something just more magical, indescribable about him the moment he has the ball you know something incredible is going to happen :)))
Oh man I remember watching that Owen goal with a thousand other people at the pub and it was the craziest celebration ever. What a monent.never forget that goal
@@EVOZORE Well, the real villains was the Argentina team, really BAD losers, aggressively provoking and attacking the German team, resulting in a penalty against Torsten Frings. With him we never lose the semifinal against Italy.
Bergkamp is top 3 or top 2 ! What a genius with a very long assist, perfect control, perfect finition. Van Persie and James Rodriguez at least top 10 for me.
Absolutely incredible compilation... I'd just add 5 more to update it (with 2018 in mind) to TOP 25: 2002 - Rivaldo's goal against Belgium (similar to James's) 2006 - Spanish one-touch combination vs Ukraine by Fernando Torres 2010 - Diego Forlan's volley vs Germany (any of his 2010 goals would actually be a worthy addition) 2018 - Benjamin Pavard's volley 2018 - Stones's finishing of a remarkable free kick signal (England vs Panama)
Imagine a guy scoring the most controversial and beautiful goals in the same game and I was lucky enough to witness his greatness live on tv. RIP Don Diego! The undisputed king of football!
@X Henrique hooks and he's going to touch for Diego There he have it Maradona. He's been marked by two. Steps over the ball, Maradona. Starts by the right, the genius of the world football. And he left the third player and he goes to touch the ball for Burruchaga, ¡Always Maradona!. ¡Genius!, ¡Genius, Genius, Tah, tah, tah, tah, tah, tah, tah. Goooaaal, Goooaaalll, Gooooaaaaalll. ¡I want to Cry!, ¡Holy God!, ¡save the football! ¡GoalStriiiike¡, ¡DieGoal!. ¡Maradona!, ¡this is to be crying!. ¡excuse me!, ¡Maradona, in unforgetful hike!, ¡in the all times play!. ¡Cosmic Barrelette!. ¿From which planete did you came to leave on the way so many english?. ¡For the country to be a clenched fist, screaming for Argentina!. ¡Argentina Two, England Zero!. ¡DieGoal, DieGoal!. Diego Armando Maradona. ¡Thank YOU GOD, for the football, for Maradona, for these Tears, for this; Argentina Two, England Zero.
What I also loved about Diego's wonderful goal was the raw passion in the commentator's voice. You know that this goal, this World Cup victory over England meant everything to him and his fellow Argentinians....
It happened immediately after a horrific foul on Hoddle so it should have been disallowed. England were actually the better team in that match and would have won it with a decent referee.
context (1982 war argentina lost against england). translation of the spontaneous comments. “The pass to Maradona, he’s got the ball, two defenders on him, he moves the ball, the genius of world soccer drives right, and he gets past the third defender, he could pass to Burruchaga… It’s still Maradona… Genius… genius… genius! Ta… ta… ta… ta… ta… ta… ta…! Goaaalll! Goaaalll! “I want to cry! Holy God, long live soccer! Oh, what a goal! Diegoal! Maradona! I can’t help crying, forgive me. Maradona, in a memorable drive, in the greatest play of all time… Intergalactic kite, what planet did you come from, to leave so many Englishmen in the dust? To make the whole country into one great, clenched fist, shaking, shouting for Argentina? . . . Diegoal! Diegoal! Diego Armando Maradona! Sweet Lord, thank you for the game of football, for Maradona, for these tears, and for this Argentina 2, England 0.”
@@antonioaltamirano2833 Thanks a lot for this translation… that commentator and that goal of Maradona are just another level… I can’t even bare the emotions simply greatest moment of the game
The truth is that all of these goals are fantastic but we have to admit that the Maradona's deserve a standing ovation even after all these years!!!! 2022
@@edgardolopez1862 Argentina always my favourite but he maid hand goal and other WC he was on coke getting the whole team disqualified . But he was awesome , he's greatness shadows his flaws. Childhood hero and memories just like G.Batistuta etc
Maradona un crack sin igual, velocidad, drible, reacción, definición, en ese mundial estuvo por encima de todos, lejos, crack único el barrilete, este Gol lo he visto cien veces y aún me sorprende.
All said and done, to each his own but that Long Aerial Pass from Dalry Blind to Van Persie and the perfect timing of Flying in Air heading the Ball creating a curve simply Stupendous that's an epitome of Great Goal in FOOTBALL

What an impressive goal from Diego Maradona. Maradona ! what an extraordinary player. I hope another player like this emerges in the world. But all the goals in the video are great.
Saw all of these on TV directly when scored save the Pelè goal (that my uncle saw from the pitch with mixed Swedish emotions). The goal I miss is the Lato-Boniek goal. Great run by Lato, rock hard pass backwards and a rock hard scorcher on a ball zooming against him. The Bergkamp and Maradona goal maybe better, but the Maradona goal will always be tarnished by the foul just before. And Maradona made goals I liked better in other games in that WC. No player was ever more dominant in a WC, sorry Mbappe, Messi.
goals by countries : brazil 5 goals argentina 3 netherlands 3 england 2 italy 1 romania 1 saudi arabia 1 scotland 1 mexico 1 uruguay 1 colombia 1 germany 0
Some of the greatest goals were by Germany and where was Tardelli's iconic world cup final goal? Diego is number 1 but a Saudi player scores a similar solo goal and not in the top 10 ! Pele was good but over hyped.
@@antoniosilvestro2494 correct. Some of our players scored quite some good goals. The goal in the final of 2014 for example might not have been the very best but still very good though and technically very difficult to do. Or Fischers backflip of 1982. But these videos are always dividing peoples opinions. Anyway, good goals though.
I agree with most of these. It's nice to see the Saudi goal. I think I might have found room for Stoichkov though, and, because I view football first and foremost as a team sport, I will always put the Brazil 1970 goal first, just ahead of Maradona. The Brazil goal (probably best presented with just a few more seconds of the footage directly preceding it) is pretty much a showcase in team football and says so much about the style of that world-beating squad in a few short passes and seconds. It just reeks of their command and confidence. I don't think you can beat the fact that the players understand one another so well that Pelé doesn't really even need to look round to know to set the goal up for marauding right-back Carlos Alberto, captain of probably the greatest World Cup squad in history and quite probably the greatest squad ever to kick a football. You see the same team ethic (perhaps ironically, in a team bursting with individual talents who, at least defensively, were unable or just didn't particularly care to make things work quite well enough to win the cup) in Éder's 1982 Brazil goal, when the ball is left (by the great Sócrates, I think) for him to score. Maradona's goal is a wonder goal but almost an aberration in a sport where you can be the best striker on Earth (not that Maradona was a striker) but still get nothing if the service to you sucks. The teamwork aspect is also a big part of why I would put Pelé, Maradona, Zidane and probably Messi, Cruyff and Puskás ahead of Cristiano Ronaldo. It's nice to be able to finish chances like a machine but if when you're not doing so it's because you're too busy providing assists, then you really are one of the greatest.
Maradona's goal is iconic not just for how it was done or because it was at a wc quarterfinal but because it was against England only 3 years after the Malvinas/Facklands war so it was really special for Argentina at the time. Also a fun fact, the guy who narrates his goal is not even argentinian, he is from Uruguay. I find that weird since he delivered it with so much passion and patriotism.
It was a well done video! Great goals being chosen. No doubt about the number one goal. I still think Diego's second goal against Belgium in 86' should be there, top 3 or 4.
Hand of God should be 2nd and Belgium one should be 3rd lol. Diego the greatest player in history what you did in all the world cups people still love and admire and talk that you are 1 off a kind. Shame on England for Falklands War. Revenge is Sweet. ARGENTINA for Ever. From Kashmir
Everyone underestimate Pelé's 58 goal. First brazilian world cup. Finals. The defender tries to break Pelé's leg in the play. Pelé is only 17 years old. Respect the GOAT
