ahhhh unwind!! had to read the first one for english in high school ages ago but it blew my 15 year old self’s mind and i ended up following through the whole series that had been publish up to then and would also love to revisit it this year. there’s some scenes i still remember to this day and think about often. this was what got me into shusterman’s books, i hope you end up loving it as much as i remember loving it!

I gave The Bear and the Nightingale 3 stars and was really debating continuing with the series. But I decided to continue with it anyway and it is now one of my all-time favorite series ever! It’s truly a wonderful series with such an inspiring female protagonist and a beautiful, enriched world. If you don’t like the first book, I still highly recommend you to continue with book 2! 🫶🏼

So excited to see His Dark Materials on the list! Probably my all-time favorite series and a genuine masterpiece in YA fantasy. Really interested to hear your thoughts on Unwind too. I put it on my tbr YEARS ago (close to when it released) and just never got around to it before it just got pushed so far down by newer books. Looking forward to seeing if I should bump it back up.

I read Half a Soul last year because a commenter from one of your videos said they loved it, and personally I really loved it too. It was so good that when it ended I was devastated it wasn't a series (not in an it-felt-unfinished way, more in an i-dont-wanna-stop-reading-about-these-characters way). Loooved the main characters and their banter is top-notch. I look forward to knowing your thoughts about it soon 🥰

OMG! The Miracles of the Namiya General Store ❤️ I really love this book. It made me cry maybe because I'm not in a very good state at that time and it kind of understood what I'm feeling. I read a single book and I think my tbr will become smaller, but then Hannah uploads and 20 books are added 🫠 Lovely list btw. Also, I think that you are gonna love "The Golem and The Jinni", it is one of my favourite books. It is really slow but character driven and the magic system is interesting. One more that I don't see often mentioned on booktube is "The Girl who Fell Beneath the Sea". It has studio Ghibli vibes (mostly Spirited Away). I think you'll like it (I firstly fell in love with the cover, then the story drew me in, I finished it in two days). I hope you have a great reading year!!

omg HECK YES, The Unwind Dystology. I love this series so much. I adore it. This was definitely a formative read for me as a teen, made me love dystopias and fundamentally shaped my reading tastes to this day. And it’s still my like gold standard for dystopias. I‘m so excited for you reading it, I’m so starved for conversation about it. This is the book series that I‘ve been (unsuccessfully) trying to convince people to read for years and also the book series that I‘ve picked beef with the german publisher over (it’s a petty feud on my part, nothing else, but it fuels me).

The Invisible Library Series is fantastic! Great vibes throughout all the book. Its one of those books-about-books kind of stories und also plays with a lot of tropes. OMG! I loveeeeee the Miracles of Namiya General Store. I read it in the last months of 2023 and fell in love with it. This book is unlike anything I've ever read. It has such incredibly magical and enchanting vibes while being meaningful and engaging. I feel that a lot of cosy books (fantasy, mystery and otherwise) tend to be a lot of fluff without much substance but this is such a unique premise, creative storytelling and heartwarming characters that I was and am still captivated by it. It's one of my absolute favourite books of all time (the list is pretty long). Even just thinking about it brings a smile to my face. It's an absolute treasure of a book!

I am so excited to see you read these! Particularly Phillip Pullman's series, it is one of my childhood favourites, I hope you enjoy them PS: Neal Shusterman's series has a chapter in the first book that still haunts me, and I think with the current climate, it's an interesting read to experience.

I've read the first two books in the Invisible Library series and I really liked them. Can't wait to read the rest of the series 😊

I've also been known to put off books by my favorite authors, so I feel you on that one! A few books I want to get to this year are The Stolen Heir by Holly Black (The Cruel Prince is one of my favorite series ever), Her Body & Other Parties (It's been on my shelf for years at this point, and I loved In The Dream House), and Lolita by Vladimir Nabokav (I started it years ago but never finished it, and I want to dive into his works soon)

Mexican gothic is actually one of my favorite books so I highly recommend it (also seeing the host reminds me that I still need to read it since I’ve had it on my physical tbr for years now)

Finishing The Bear and the Nightingale this weekend and it is so good. I’d put it off for well over 4 years for no good reason.

I am a long-time Neal Shusterman lover and the unwind series is incredible. Scythe is similarly amazing!

The invisible library series is so good. i'm cathing up on them. I read the 1st volume back in 2015 and never seen or heard anyone talk about it. Had to lend my copies to my friends so I wouldn't be alone tlking about it and they also really loved it. Really hope you'll enjoy this read.
