Nicely done . You presented your top 5 in a clear concise explanation. I have used some of your colours and they do work . Keep up the good work. I also have different colours for my Spring/Summer/Fall patterns . It takes a little time to do this and I'm talking time in years here but you'll find that you will always catch fish if you break it down just a little finer . Good luck this season.!

That last color on the tube looks good. My go-to color is called Road-Kill, which is a green pumpkin plastic with a very fine gold and red glitter. It's a sure-thing around here. Can't wait to get out there, but our weather has turned and it's actually getting colder this week with more rainfall. Great video Ben... lots of good info here.

Thanks Joe! Road kill works well up here too but is moreso one of those colors I work through if I'm really finding those fish eating gobies trying to get them dialed in. Northern Ontario near Sault Ste Marie has open season on smallmouth all year. Some lakes offer beautiful views and awesome fishing so if your coming to ontario consider this area. (Hate to sound like a tourism advertisement but I love where I live!)

Doug Miles I river/creek fish all the time. I love the drop shot, because it helps keep the bait down but not hooked to all the depth and water changes to river fishing. For faster presentation, swim bait or spinner bait if the water isn’t clear.

Be sure to note that these are lake baits not river baits. You can use the crank and the paddle tail. Nikko leech and hellgrammite needs to be on your list. Smallies love these and the huddlebug. 👍

6th Sense Divine Swimbait head is great but there are other good ones out there - Anything with a screw lock is great because it will keep that bait on the hook longer. MikeyBalzz also talks about these swimbait grabbers that go through the line tie and keep the bait on a bit longer as well.

Dude you're giving away all my favorite colors. I love the MegaBass version on the LuckE Strike Jerkbait. I need to pick up some of the LES versions I like their price point much better then the Mega. I just bought a bunch before the LES came out. Then you start to talk about my smoke purple. hahaha JK. Do you upgrade the hardware on the RC STX? I have been wanting to try a couple of those jerkbaits as a back up to the the single Vision 110 FX Tour Premium that I own but I haven't figured out what split rings and hooks to upgrade to which will allow it to still suspend. I know they don't have the same effectiveness as the Vision 110 but I've been wanting to get a couple.

Yeah, Elijah, I use the black vmc split rings and use Owner ST-36 trebles (size 6). As far as effectiveness of these vs the Megabass I'm not sure if there is one or if it's just confidence but they're pretty good baits for the cost. Check them out and be sure to let me know what you think!

Benjamin Nowak awesome. thanks for the info! I was looking at ST36 as well. Wasn't sure if they were too heavy or not. Also need to figure out the split ring size. I've heard two sides to the story. some say they're just as effective and others say they're not even close. I definitely want to try them out though!

For sure! I use the VMC split rings size 2 and haven't (yet) had any issues. I've heard the same, some people claim they're the same and some are big fans of the MegaBass 110. After you get a chance to play with them both, let me know!

3/16 to 3/8 oz head - My favorite is a standard football head jig or standard tube jig with a flat eye

Great video! Quick question: some of your lures that you had on "Bass Magnet" I tried adding to my cart on the site but the shipping was crazy it was like $17.99 for shipping alone! Any other site I could get em from? They don't appear to be on Amazon

Yeah, that's one of the things I'm trying to work out with them is how to get them to the US for cheaper. They're a Canadian company so the price is a little high if you're not able to split the order with a buddy or order $100 worth for free shipping. There are some alternative brands of products that are relatively similar. Check out the Eco Pro Tungsten Swing Shad or the Bass Assassin, but I haven't found one with a good "Chartreuse" that I like. Also as something sort of similar to the Twitch, check out the Berkley Twitch Tail Minnow or the XZone Lures Slammer

I recently got into your channel after seeing your Lake St. Claire video, ever since I've been watching all your stuff and been studying/purchasing these baits in preparation for small mouth season. I've never been this excited to fish. Everyday I think about it and your channel has hyped me up. I live less than an hour from St. Claire so that's where we go. Benjamin Nowak anytime. Don't know if you can answer this but are you still planning on making part 4 to the rod building series? And I'm not looking to spend too much outside of the kit so do you think it would be manageable to throw an abu Garcia black max reel on the rod build from the kit ? (7 foot rod) Mainly using deep diving cranks- regular cranks, paddle tail swim baits as well as tubes.

Typically a darter, but it also works awesome on a small jig head dragging slowly along the bottom

Thanks William! The kill shot or warning shot from Yum are good baits as well as Zoom has some good crosstail style baits. Baits similar to the Twitch though would be something like the Berkley Twitchtail Minnow. Thanks for watching as always man!

Yes, the dream shot is a great choice too - the four inch size is great for both smallmouth and largemouth. The Roboworm is something I've had a little luck on for smallmouth but is a go-to dropshot bait around big largemouth

Chicago here, but I've no boat, but i'm not trying to dodge all the lake shore running groups so I usually avoid the big pond. I usually go to the rivers and creeks for smaller fish, but better scenery lol.
