During my trip to Shillong, I decided to scan some of the best Cafes in Laitumkhrah area of Shillong, Meghalaya. A lot of you have been asking me to incorporate food in my videos, so here's my first attempt. Let me know your thoughts in the comments section. :)

Thank you everyone for your recommendations of Cafes and eating joints in the comments below. It will be of great help to people who are visiting for the first time. I couldn't have tried all of them because of appetite and time limitation of course. But I look forward to coming back soon for more! :)

Tanya, I just came to know about your channel. A friend of mine suggested. As i was watching your videos, i found this and I'm having flashback of my college days. I m missing my friends like crazy. We used to hang out here in Dylan's cafe, Shillong cafe, ml05, munchies, living roof. We fought over game of uno. we used to sing songs and dance like no one was watching in living roof. Those bicycle rides in MLO5 and teaching a fren of mine who didnt know how to ride, how scared she was... I can hear those laugh, we were so loud.... Nostalgic. Now we all are in different part of India, everyone is busy pursuing their career and m sending this video to them and through this video we are revisiting those days... Thank you so much.... I always love going back to Shillong. I'm from Nagaland but shillong is just different. It takes you back to a world of its own. Lovely happy people and such a lovely place. Should have visited The grub and Bread Cafe too

You missed Swish Cafe! It is one of the first cafes in Shillong and it is freakin awesome! It is also the first cafe in Meghalaya to have a smoking section and non-smoking section. It's in Laitmukhrah. All the cafes you went to are pretty new.

Very good idea Tanya! Your choice of restaurants and cafes have always been pocket-friendly, as I have seen in your previous videos. If possible please add the approx cost of the dishes/the total bill amount. It can be helpful. :)

There are a few more Cafes in Mawlai Mawroh area & still some more even on the outskirts of shilong... Some of these cafes serves Boiled potatoes with fresh cabbages (or/& with some other green leafy veg), and you can munch these with dried meat and Tungtab(a Khasi chutney).... Worth a try... Anyway thnx a lot for visiting Shillong... Youre always most welcome again...

Great editing skills for a starter! Kudos on your leave the job and let me travel attitude 🤗😉 Shillong is indeed so welcoming and I'm glad you had a great time. There are a few cafes you missed! Pardon me if you have been there and I didn't see them in your other vlogs, cafes like you and I arts cafe (mawroh), ML05 cafe (upper Shillong) Open up cafe (mawroh) and the ones I forgot to mention maybe. Anyways do visit again. I can't really quit my job but I'm beginning to travel on my vacation time. Way to go gurl, all the best

For vegetarian North East may somehow disappointed you. But for Non Veg people, north east is a heaven. Only if you wish to try beyond chicken tandoori or chicken masala or Butter chicken. You will find every non veg edible stuff over here in North East from snails to Pork.

one suggestion please don't call shillong as scotland of east. You can call scotland as "shilliong of west" . Because indian culture and civilization is way acncient than western culture. When india was civilize all those western countries used to live nomadic life in cave and used to consume raw meat.

Thanks Ma'am for this very good video. I was born and spent my childhood here, and while I've long left Shillong, it still remains a part of me. Even though you seem to have traveled the NE quite extensively, one essential aspect remains neglected so far. And that is music. Quite Surprising in fact, for watching the videos I got the sense that you do have a taste for Western music. I hope you'll cover this in a future video.
