Alex Ferguson won Titles with Smalling, Phil Jones and Cleverly give that to Pep and let's see if he even qualifies for The Europa League... Manchester United dominated the PL but struggled in Europe mainly because of this, his Squads apart from 2007-09 era were not really that Great and he got found out in Europe with teams that had Robben and Ribery like Bayern or Ozil and Di Maria like Real Madrid remember that 2013 Match against Real Madrid, if he had anything close to what Pep has now he would easily win the UCL that year. He walked in at Man UTD which had only 7 Titles to Liverpool's 18 and walked out with 13 PL Titles surpassing Liverpool with 20.

You don’t know football if you put Mourinho and Klopp above Wenger. Every pundit, player, fan, expert say the man revolutionized the game. Today we talk of possessive, attacking and entertaining football by Pep; Playing out from the back; Using centre backs as full backs; False 9s. We forget Arsenal used to building from the back, played possessive and attacking football to the extent that, they would be losing 6 nil and would still want to possess and attack. No one really knew the position of Henry or Berkamp. Who between then was the striker or the supporting striker. Emirates stadium meant he had to stay and make sure the club was financially stable. The likes of Arteta are benefiting off the man’s legacy. He might not have won tons of trophies but you have to put some respect on that man’s name

100%. Wenger stayed to steady the ship when Arsenal had to count the pennies and were losing their best players every summer to be replaced by inferior players. The progressive rot wasn’t Wenger’s fault. He kept Arsenal in the champions League for years and shielded the board. He could have left after 2005/2006 and would have had the pick of clubs such as Real Madrid and may have won a champions league or two but he didn’t and decided to stay and lay the foundations for today.

Theres only 4 managers who changed football, Michels, Cruyff, Sacchi, Guardiola. Arrigo Sacchi was modernising diets in the 80s, popularised high pressing, the offside trap & highline and as a result dominated europe Michels & Cruyff were the pioneers of Total Football with major domestic and european success as a result and Guardiola perfected it with his Barcelona side and dominated england, germany and spain.

I hear this argument a lot about managers who couldn't manage "in this era" due to times changing. Ferguson was a successful trophy winning manager for 39 years... do people think time existed in a vacuum during that period? He managed over eras, four decades and had to change his style over that time in order to remain at the top. Yes he was a disciplinarian but you can achieve that in different ways. Just look at how he dealt with Wayne Rooney in the latter period of his career. If that had been 5-10 years earlier, Rooney would have been gone from the club but he took a softer approach than he may have done in the past. Even Mourinho, whom they touch on as well... his methods which won him things in the past (I agree with a lot of the points regarding him being a manager who burns bright but not long) are still reaching finals and winning trophies (Roma) today. People forget a lot of details about how SAF changed football. Before Wenger even arrived in the UK, SAF clamped down on the drinking culture at Utd. He described it as more of a social club than a football club when he took over as fitness had been a big aspect of his teams in Scotland. Their resulting improved fitness played a big part in why they started dominating and other clubs soon followed suit. Wenger then added diet and scientific measures to this when he came. The genesis of footballs improved fitness in the UK came for Ferguson however. He also helped created the model that not just teams, but whole clubs follow now today. From the importance of a good youth set up to building not just a football club but an international super club (which even without their success Man Utd remain) also all began with SAF in the UK. If he's potentially putting Klopp first due to "everything he's had to fight against" then how on earth does SAF still not end up top having taken over a club who were at the start of his reign, on the cusp of the relegation zone never mind being top of the league! Rebuilt the youth academy and the entire club structure all while building the team and transforming them into the dominant power in the league for what would be over a decade... I'd argue it's not so much the 100 points that was impressive, it's the fact that it meant there was a 19 pt gap between them and second place. Man Utd did a similar thing in 1999/00, where although they didn't get 100 points, they achieved an 18 pt gap between themselves and second place.

Basically, you are saying without the 115 charges Pep would have never been a City manager. Because those charges brought City to life and established a foundation that Pep inherited. Infact, Pep inherited a title winning team with David Silva, Kompany, KDB, Aguero, Fernandinho, Sterling, Otamendi, Zabaleta, Yaya Toure,..Pep used these same players to do wonders going forward. Many of them were part of the centurions and helped built the foundation that went ahead to create a dynasty. Once the dynasty was created, everything followed. The club wouldn't have funded him with enough money to buy Henry if he didn't make that possible. Ferguson spent more money on Rio Ferdinand than Wenger spent on Lehmann, Lauren, Kolo, Campbell, Cole, Vieira, Gilberto, Ljungberg and Pires! Yet Wenger is the one who went invincible! Not to mention building the stadium and guiding the club to safety through the storm of debts and having to work through selling your best players yet still staying in the champions league, playing some of the best football ever and breaking the FA Cup record in your "poor" years against financially doped up sides like Chelsea and City! Arsene Wenger deserves way more respect than he gets.

Pep didn't ruin football. Cristiano Ronaldo ruined football imo. Pep is and was the manager of Messi, Xavi, Iniesta, Busquets, KDB, Robben, etc. some of the most technical players of the last 20 years and the biggest reason why teams like Stoke and Bolton cease to exist.. The reason why I think Cristiano ruined football is because since Cristiano Ronaldo became an icon younger kids started believing football is all about stats. Therefore the kids we have now are nothing like Zidane and Iniesta and Ronaldinho aka players who care about entertaining the crowd too. Cristiano from 2013-2020 didn't give a fuck about dribbling past two three players and doing an outside of the foot through pass. This has made football boring.

People who dont even watch the games think they know alot to say when football matters are being discussed. To fit in, they find the quickest ways to equip their knowledge..thats where stats gets in. CR7 ruined individuals. Pep he ruined teams. Teams are now too much disciplined and following specific systems like they are robots. Argentina played open football at WC and look how the world loved it. They score they concede for 120 minutes.Pure entertainment. Nowadays, provided you can follow a manager like Pep's system, you become a great player. Alot of shit players are making it to the top leagues while talented players are suffering.
