Honestly the worst part about the Blades of Athena to me is that the damage doesnt scale, its pretty much just level 1 blade damage with a level 5 blade moveset. Thats the thing for me that holds it back most.
@@AllDayErrDay. of course, but if they add the ability to use them through a bonus item no less, i would have preferred it if they would have actually let them keep parity with the blades of Exile rather than just remaining at their starter damage
@@firedeath1154 understandable. I think the purpose of allowing us to use Athena's blades for bonus playthroughs was for bonus challenge. Kind of like Hera's chalice. The ultimate challenge would be a no upgrade plus blades of Athena plus Hera's chalice run.

I just wish there was at least the option to upgrade it after the river styx part to make it competitive against the blades of exile. after all, i actually infinitely prefer the GOW2 move set to the GOW3 one if im being totally honest. but for challenge runs, i could definitely see the use case for it.
I agree 100%, the video is very good! Just a little correction, Kratos has a move in God of War 1 where he uses the blades without the chains. It's the R1+R1+R1 combo, it's called Hermes Fury and it's acquired at level 4 of Blades of Chaos. Keep up the great work :)
Didn't he also had L1 + O, Lance of the Furies, where Kratos hold his blades in the air and depending on how much you hold a bigger shockwave hit the ground
I almost agree. Personally I would switch places with the Nemean cestus and the Nemesis whip. I love the Nemesis whip so much and it let me bully zeus in the last fight.
The nemean cestus are my favorite and it's because of how fucking raw it is to see kratos put on a pair of giant metal LION heads on his fists and start beating the shit out of everything not to mention how much they fuck with damage output
Something very underrated about the Nemean Cestus is their hitstun. You can straight up infinite most solo enemies with it if you time it right and they’re near a wall, including Zeus in the 2D phase (arguably his most challenging phase).

I know this isn't in gow3, but the leviathan are is way up on the list overall. that monster can stop mjolnir dead in the air and all the other stuff including the combos not to mention runic and throwing the beast. severely underrated
Blade of Chaos is actually in the very low tier in Greek but it is as mighty as mjolnir and axe the high tier weapon in Nord so in reality the axe isn't as powerful as mid-high tier Greek weapons
@@master_of_glaives it about equal in power but blade is just a bit stronger than axe but less powerful than hammer. If I have to rate the power by number it'll look like this. 1.hammer 10/10 2.blade 8.5/10 3.axe 8/10 Just by a reference all other Greek weapons that Kratos once used are above 10 in rating
Nice vid, bro. However you're wrong on one thing, Kratos actually used only the blades before Gow3's holding square attack, (aside grabs) in GoW1 with the R1 combo and counterattack and the R1+O explosive attack.

My rich friend who let me play this on his PS4 called the blade of exile "patake" meaning exploding crackers was his favourite. mine was Blade of Athena or Bulade ouf Authena .
Agree except the glows of Hades nr 2 no weapon can make your enemy dye in 3 hits except the Medusa but no weapon in God of war can compete to the blades of Exile maibe only the Blade of Olimpus because it's the blade of olimpus what killed 2 armis in 1 hit Only Scorpions Spear idk why it's called spear but that thing distrois everything they hit they even copy his spear in the 4 game because Kratos doesn't have fire powers Scorpion does and he sends fire on his chain and it explodes at the end
Great. There was still the shade of yellow in his boots, hence why I assumed it was the boots. Your way of showcasing the weapons is quite compelling. If possible do one about the Nemesis Whip in which you show all possible combos and extending each square attacks (Hold square for 4 seconds, then tap and hold it again for 4, etc. To show all extended square attacks where he keeps the blades spinning@@ExtremeGameplays1
Amazing video 👍🏻 your list is so good but in my opinion the best weapons is 1 : blades of exile 2 : blades of Athena 3 : claws of hades 4 : Nemean cestus 5 : nemesis whip . But in my opinion the air version of Athena’s blades Tartarus rage or L1 with triangle (air) is much better than the air version of blades of exile Tartarus rage because it’s fast but the rest of the blades of exile is better than Athena’s blades .
