As a 20-year owner of dc5's(owned 7 throughout those years), the top 5 are as follows(in my opinion)... 1. Kpro.. if you plan on doing mods to your car and making it faster, engine managment is a MUST and should be the first mod.. 2. LSD.. adding a limited slip is a must on these cars especially with its wonky suspension geometry, makes a huge difference.. 3. Shifter/Shifting upgrades.. The Dc5 has terrible OEM cmc and shifting. clutching and shifting gears is delayed and the shifter is sloppy.. The upgrades are as follows.. OEM em1 cmc upgrade(doesnt have the OEM dc5 cmc delay valve for better, faster and more crisp shifts and feel), shift cable bushings, stiffer detents, and stiffer shift selector springs... 4. Air/Exhaust mods.. RBC manifold, Intake upgrade, and header. 5. Better clutch. For basic bolt ons, the Exedy Stage 1 is a great OEM-like option that grabs better.... Now I will lastly mention suspension. Most know the dc5 has really rough suspension geometry. This CAN be fixed to some extent, but know, if you switch to coilovers on these cars, and think u can just lower the dc5 without problems and the car driving like crap, think again. It will not be a pleasant experience unless u know what you are doing. For me, if u absolutely need lowering and this is a daily driver car, I would honestly try to avoid coilovers. BC's are OKAY as are the higher grade Tien's, but pretty much all of the coilovers under $1k are not worth it. I would look at spring options like H&R's(a good quality spring), or look at non-coilover options like stock shock upgrades like the dc5 Type R or Aspec Shocks, which provide about an inch drop and slightly stiffer springs. That, or try to track down some Mugen SS shocks or Bilstein B6 shocks for the ep3 that will fit on the dc5 with slight modification needed. These are just my opinions from my own experience for entry level mods when first stepping into the dc5 scene.

@@SEEmenSniper thanks man, I do wish there were better mod tutorials for the dc5 that went into more detail on the cars pitfalls and why things need changing. Like I stated, the dc5's main issues are sloppy shifting and clutch pedal due to crappy OEM parts that are not good for performance, then the suspension geometry. You dont know how many kids and people I know have bought an RSX, lowered it, drove it for a few months, then sold it cuz the car was terrible to drive LOL.. The suspension geometry just does not like lowering. The steering rack being located higher up causes terrible angles on the tie rods and causes tons of problems. Like I mentioned, there are aftermarket solutions and fixes, but its not a simple thing.

The intake next to the exhaust manifold is bad design. Sucking in heat source.

100% agree but my everyday commute has deep puddles and when it rains having a cold air intake would suck up all the water from those puddles and seize my engine.
