maybe you could've also talked about whiffing m1s, now that parry cooldown is bigger missing some m1s (like turning your camera away from your enemy as you're about to hit them) can throw some people off since your m1 sound will play but they'll miss their parry, effectively working as a feint
right! Perhaps I could’ve added that to the feinting mechanic section of the video, but I wanted to keep a balance of how much info I gave about each mechanic. If I make a more dedicated video on feinting, will mention intentionally whiffing m1s for sure
You’d think that the recent changes to m1 feinting would change anything, but man, feels like it barely affects combat. If only feinting had a similar system to parrying where it can detect successful feints and removes endlag entirely as a reward.
@@Phantom-qv8gl you mean lightspeed reflexes? The point of saying feinting is useless is because it’s easy to react to due to the endlag; now softfeint an m1 into strong left, and now you have a hard to react to guardbreak and you can feint strong left on top of that as a mixup.
@@kirito-78 I wasn’t super knowledgeable about PvP when m1 feinting was meta, but I do remember seeing like a demo where the time to react to m1 feinting was super tough and like borderline unreactable, must’ve been crazy to play against
@@kirito-78tbh if they feint a lot they’re kind of easy to read especially if they’re heavy however many heavy users back then actually were really good at reading and planning ahead with their super armor sadly super armor is still kinda buggy and can still get cancelled by “multi hits” such as bleed ticks for some reason
verse 1 was so unbalanced i remember a compilation of many attacks and mantras having less than 150ms activation time which is by literal means unreactable unless you live next to the servers and you are on drugs
yoo this is the best guide ive seen so far any tips for players with higher ping? (I have 70 ping in my best servers I don't like ever get these servers but usually around 120+ for other servers 😭)
hi can you also explain dodge canceling and when is the best time to use it? i just started playing like a few days ago and i notice everyone in pvp doing it
oh yeah for sure, good on you for asking when you're this new to the game. The main problem with rolling normally and not roll cancelling by right clicking in the middle of the roll, is that rolling normally has huge amounts of endlag. What I mean by this, is near the end of the rolling animation, theres a period where you can't do anything, like parrying or attacking etc. This kills the momentum of whatever you may be trying to do, and your opponent can punish you for this endlag by movestacking a mantra (using a mantra in the middle of an m1 so that the mantra comes out very quickly after the m1 i.e. right after your dodge frames are gone and you're in the endlag part of your dodge). So, in order to remove this endlag you *usually* want to dodge cancel instead of just doing a full dodge in PvP. hope this clarifies it for you.
@@SpidersDW thank you for the reply :) so i should use it when i want to dodge basically? like dodging a mantra except i just cancel it to avoid endlag?
you can def make curved blade work, but most high elo players agree that the scaling and extra stat points from a hero blade due to not having to invest in medium make the heroblade a better choice. all crits are not viable at all really against good players, and the innate aftercut from curved is useless since the aftercut does less damage than inhale's aftercut, and you should be inhaling a lot on gale anyway
@@SpidersDW say i use rising shadow while m1ing right and i wanna wait for them to land so i can crit or whatever, sometimes ill use a mantra and it'll do an m1 right after i do it which can mess up my combos
@@zmuknukz5051 ik this is 3 weeks ago but i dont know if you know they added a new setting in options called input buffering which you could disable and it fixes it
I like most of these but I refuse to animation mask, that's some fatherless activity. Same thing with these inf combo builds people make with massive aoe, I'd rather lose then become that fatherless
yes, and despite some people say I still think it’s really good to have in your kit. in current meta high posture f holders are so cancer to play against, without champions it’s 🪦
You forgot running a crazy build which can drop you 100-0 in one combo! Because people only care bout winning it's build Vs build rn so why even make a vid like this.
I’m telling you, this is the wrong mindset to have. There’s a reason that not everybody who runs a cheese build is top 250, and a reason why none of the comp PvP RU-vidrs run a typical cheese build. That’s because fights are NOT build vs build, and skill prevails
honestly id say as long as you're not lagging and getting consistent 60+ fps you'll most likely be fine. I actually don't really know if having higher than 60fps is important since that's the limit on my monitor, so you'd have to ask someone else.
@@SpidersDW it's pretty good, I have played on both 60(my pc) and 240(friend), the game just feels smoother, also it's easier to see animations, nothing more than that That and well for some reason network requests are tied to fps so a tiny advantage there compared to having low fps
