I've been playing Floyd Rose equipped guitars since the 90's. And seriously, no.lies were detected in this video. Floyds can be a pain in the ass, but once you know what's what, and how to properly maintain it, Floyd Rose bridges are awesome!!
I suggest a 6th reason that I rarely see discussed: Posts/studs. If your trem system has coarse threaded posts commonly found on cheaper Floyds, they will contribute to less tuning accuracy. If you take the trem off and can wiggle the posts, that's an indication you should upgrade to finer threaded posts and studs. In theory, the only thing you want to have the ability to move or pivot is the tremolo unit itself.
I have a similar TRS-101 trem for my 1996 Jackson KV2. The 6th string saddle is beaten up. Did you replace that bridge for that Jackson? If so. What did you get? Did you have to re-route the Jackson because of the polygonal shape of the original trem? Thanks.
Those are pretty standard floyd rose shenanigans, just tune the strings, wait till the bridge gets sort of "pulled up", tune them again, wait, rince and repeat until they stay in tune
It's a floating trem. That's what they do. Completely normal behaviour. If you don't like it, block the trem, set the sprung tension a little higher and it will be dive only. Perfect tuning stability, no shenanigans. Eddie Van Halen never used a floating trem, always decked.
Ibanez tremolos MADE IN JAPAN ONLY are also very high quality. Kahler made at least THREE knife edge Floyd type tremolos that are NOT the Kahler Flyer cam action tremolo, also superb quality! The Killer and the Steeler are Kahler made Floyds, excellent!!!. Gotoh JAPAN made are very very good. Real Floyd Rose trems are made by Schaller, so Schaller or top of the line Floyds are almost the same thing and very very good! That TKL stuff was trash. I like the Ibanez locking studs.
I have the standard. Dreadful guitar with a floyd special. Utter garbage, tempted to pick up a harley benton fusion. Has a 1000 floyd on it and stainless steel frets for very little
got a Kramer Stryker with a Rose on it I took it apart to clean and now cant get the saddles correct, bottom 3 (G,B,E) strings are higher than the than top strings everything I tried comes out the same, what is the trick?
5 reasons your guitar won't tune because of its Floyd Rose. Other reasons your Floyd Rose equiped guitar won't stay in tune. 1. Action ? 2. Nut is not tight. 3. Nut is binding. 4. Nut blocks are worn or groves are larger than string gauge causing slippage. 5. Guitar string break angle is shallow. 6. String tension is lower than minimum spring tension.
