I have a theory about why Dumbledore seems so “omniscient” as Tom calls him. And, it ties into Dumbledore saying he doesn’t want to be removed from the chocolate frog cards. I think he put a kind of protean charm on them so that he can be informed anywhere his card is. Him disappearing from Harry’s card on the train is to tell himself that Harry made it safely on the train as an example.

so... House elves are low key the most useful magical beings in the HP universe. Never mind the cooking and cleaning, there are spells for that sorta things. but their ability to perform advanced magic without wands, and apparate in and out of places where witches and wizards cannot, and bring people along when they do. The stories would ahve been significantly different if House Elves were just utilised properly. Draco had Dobby. He could have snuck back home, without using broom, floo, apparition, portkeyes or train at any point until Dobby was freed. He could have snuck around the school at will at night and just have dobby apparate him back to his bed if things got sketchy. Sirius had Kreecher. He could have entered Gryffindor tower at any point when hunting Wormtail. He could have called Kreecher while in Azkaban to break out. He could have used Kreecher to comunicate with harry without needing fireplaces... Harry could have asked Dobby to get them to Grimauld place when he saw the vision of Sirius. They could have used Dobby to get Harry safely from the Dursleys. Thus saving Moody and an ear. They could ahve used Dobby/kreecher to infiltrate the Ministry. They could have used Dobby/Kreecher to escape from the Ministry. They could probably have used Dobby/kreecher to get into Gringotts. They could have used House Elves at Hogwarts during the battle to quicker get from one position to another, carrying the Elves as backpacks with apparition capabilities, something non-Elf-equipped fighters wouldnt be able to do. House Elves are OP.
@sanatprasad1594
@sanatprasad1594 Год назад

@@sanatprasad1594 I mean, sure. They wont be overthrowing the social order on their own. But under the right circumstances, they are like a cheat. Apparate into the middle of Voldemorts Army, blast off a Peter Pettigrew Special (the spell that "blew up an entire street") in different directions, and then apparating back out in about a second, before anyone have time to react. They could have turned the whole battle around in 4-5 jumps, breaking the Deatheaters' morale and causing them to rout.
@sanatprasad1594
@sanatprasad1594 Год назад
@@w0t3rdog yeah that makes a lot of sense. I did wonder if there is some enchantment that prevents house elves apparating into and out of hogwarts, as we mainly only see them apparating around within the castle, but then I remembered Dobby entered the castle from outside to visit Harry in the hospital wing, then wasn't so sure. I'm sure Gringotts would have had protection against house elves, since they are very particular about security, and goblins are a lot less likely to overlook them

So theoretically Harry could die by one of their hands still, it would just be his own. My favorite theory is that the wizard (with all the access to magic implied, such as the ability to have flying vehicles and/or travel via fireplaces) who is really rich (with the ability to get elves, and lots of things that he could just give away) and old (so not visibly aging anymore, and possibly combined with rich able to get around various laws against dangerous magic), named Nicholas… is the same as some other character in other works named Nicholas who gives lots of presents via flying vehicle and fireplace travel, with the help of elves, in an amount of time that should not be possible, and who hasnʼt visibly aged since 1823 and has probably been around a lot longer. The only thing that doesnʼt fit is that the St. Nicholas Iʼm thinking of is thought to have been born in 270, over a thousand years before Flamel, but he might have gotten the Stone earlier than advertised and only decided to actually settle down back then.

I posted this the other day, but it ties in with number two on your list and why the Harry Horcrux didn't mess with the Dursleys the way that the locket messed with our Trio. Each time Voldemort split his soul the new Horcrux was less powerful than the previous ones. The diary was the first one and most powerful. It spawned a new Tom (yes I watched your video on that) and was able to fully take Ginny over. After this one 1/2 of the soul was in the book and 1/2 was in Voldemort. When he goes to make the ring he only has half of the soul normal people have so after that split it is 1/4 in him and 1/4 in the ring. Not as powerful as the dairy, but still does some good damage to Dumbledore. We don't see much interaction with the cup (1/8 of a "full soul") but we do see how much the locket (1/16 of a "full soul") impacts the Trio. It isn't able to physically control them, because it isn't as powerful as the diary, but it can still control their emotions. If all soul pieces were of equal strength then the Harry piece would be impacting the Dursleys and everyone Harry interacts with at school making them just as miserable as the locket. But if you follow that each time Voldemort split his soul he was splitting what was left in half then the Harry slice is only 1/64 of a "full soul." Also the intent to make each slice 1/7 from the start wouldn't work because then dairy through Harry would all have 1/7. Then when Voldemort goes to make what he thinks is the sixth (thus the seventh part) Horcrux he would only have 1/7 of a soul left to split between himself and Nagini. It helps if you picture pizza/pie/cake. Enjoy! 🥞🦡
@Digitize27
@Digitize27 Год назад
I feel like trying to contextualise something as immaterial as a soul as splitting into traditional fractions is something of a fools errand. Nothing in the books indicated that each horcrux was weaker than the last, or somehow 'less', only that Voldemort become more unhinged with each fragmentation (which given the circumstances for creating a horcrux in the first place, is hardly surprising, even without the spiritual self-mutilation). The diary appeared the most powerful because it had unrestricted access to Ginny for almost an entire school year while she was willingly pouring herself into it. The only other horcrux we see interacting with people long enough to be notable (other than Harry who is protected by his mother's sacrifice, keeping the fragment dormant) is the locket, which is only ever surrounded by people who know precisely what it is and at least know to guard themselves as best they can from its influence (and even then it insidiously manages to slip into their psyche). Mundungus and Delores didn't have it long enough to make a notable effect, and it may have contributed to the decline of Kreacher's sanity in the interim. The Diadem, ring, and cup were destroyed immediately after being found, and Nagini is only ever around Death Eaters. There's no reason to believe every single Horcrux wasn't exactly as potentially dangerous and powerful as the diary, given the right circumstances (Or moreso, given they would have contained the memories of older, more powerful versions of Tom)

Take Ron and Hermione for instance. Ron in particular shared a dorm (and from Chamber of Secrets his room at home) with Harry for years and the three of them spent most of their time together. We see the effect the locket has on Ron but nothing similar in the years beforehand. And yeah, maybe the locket has a stronger effect because of the closer proximity as they are wearing it, but it HAS been six years, more than enough time.

On one hand, I agree that the Dursleys are already intolerant to wizards, but, on the other hand, it would be a pretty big plot hole for the horcrux to affect Ron but not the Dursleys (especially given how long they lived with it). So, while it was always going to happen that they were going to try their best to stomp any magical "nonsense" out of him, I don't know that they would have always treated him quite as badly as they did. I mean, if they hated him that much from the get go, why take him in at all? If they were, for instance, scared to refuse him because a powerful wizard demanded they care for him, why would they suddenly no longer fear the powerful wizard when it came to quality of care?

One thing I would say is that different Horcruxes seem to have different effects on those around them (the diary, for example, is very different from the locket). Because the books were written for children, some of what happens (particularly in The Philosopher's Stone) feels disconnected from the rest of the series. The Dursleys keeping Harry in a cupboard under the stairs feels(for most of us) like cartoon levels of villainous parental behaviour and so we look for ways to explain it. The books are told from Harry's perspective, we are meant to empathise with and like Harry, yet many people outside of Gryffindor don't and so we look to understand that too. This theory could explain some of the unrealistic narrative.

The relationship between Dumbledore and Fawkes, and how and why Fawkes gave two feathers to Ollivander to makes wands out off, is explained by the fanfic I love the most: Shiny and Blue by der Mondstrahl. It’s completely canon compliant and gives loads of background to everything. :)

My theory on the whole "Immortal Harry" thing is a little different. I like to think that Harry is immortal to some extent. Specifically because of the line in the story of the Three Brothers "And he greeted Death as an old friend." In my mind that meant that the Master of Death, in thus case Harry, will gain the ability to live until they choose to die, at which point the MoD will/must greet Death as an old friend. I also like the theory that not just anyone can be the MoD, but only those from the Peverell Family.

The other issue with the theory of the Dursleys being cruel because of the Horcrux in Harry, particularly the part about Ron being most impacted because he's used to comfort...is Hermione. She's also there, she's also around it, and she's also used to comfort. Arguably more than Ron, considering that while, yes, she did have to go through the culture shock of evening the wizarding world at 11, she's never shown to have financial hardship and seems to have perfectly lovely parents and general stability in her life. By that logic she should also be grossly changed by the locket.

What about the theory that there was a big war between muggles and wizards which cause the wizard population to be so small? This one is souly based on the big size of the Weasley family and ignoring that all other families in the HP universes have a max of 2 - 3 children.

I think Dumbledore knew that Ron was loyal and sees the opposite of himself in him.. I think Dumbledore had regrets and didn’t want Ron to have those same regrets and gave him the deluminator so he can return to his friends (family); the thing Dumbledore never could do after Ariana’s death

I kind of like the "the drsleys are mean bc harrys a horcrux' theory but its also disproven by the 7 books themselves. Why would the dursleys be corrupted by that stuff but hermione and ron arent? They spent a lot more time and were a lot closer to him than the durselys were.

7:50 Like the peach in Milo Murphy's Law? If i can remember correctly: There are two sets of two time travelers, one set is 15 minutes behind the other. Team one come up to some unseen yet danger and a peach is thrown at them to warn them, Cavendish is confused about it, but Dakota picks it up to possibly eat later. They continue and 15 minutes later they see their past selves (team two) coming towards the same unseen danger. Wanting to warn them, Cavendish looks for something to signal to them and Dakota gives him the peach which he uses. 'Wait? Where did you get that peach from?' 'Someone threw it at you and i picked it up' 'But that someone was me.' 'I know, i just gave it to you' 'But where did you get it from?' 'Someone threw it at you and I picked it up' 'but that someone was me.' 'I know i just gave it to you.'

For the last theory, I personally feel that Harry is the master of death and is immortal only when it comes to non-natural forms of death. However, if he was to fall from a broomstick or get dragonpox he is as mortal as any other wizard. Similarly, how the DA and the Order became immortal (resisting harmful spells) after Harry sacrificed himself for them. Yet, they can still die from natural causes.
