I want to say a huge Thank You for info you are providing. I moved to US 6 years ago and I started experiencing skin problems, eczema, allergies, migraines, started gaining weight and more and more. You helped me to choose right products and to solve majority of my health issues without doctors. THANK YOU.
Irina - after seeing the ingredients in US food, I started checking the food I bought in UK - and although some of the ingredients are similar it is so easy to get products without all the vile ingredients Bobby points out. So glad you are getting your problems sorted.
1. Farmed marine animals 2. Personal care and household items with perfumes or fragrance 3. Energy drinks 4. Toothpaste with SLS 5. Artificial Sweeteners or sugar
Before you say, “Eating Healthy Is Too Expensive”, analyze your other expenses and see if you can cut down somewhere else…I bet you can. Also, future expenses related to health issues that can possibly be avoided by eating healthy is a huge savings. Healthy Food For Thought!
Yes!!!!! This comment! People say that are usually the same ones spending so much eating out or going to the bar or drinking all weekend. Or spending ridiculous amounts of money on other random things
@@Alexie24Alexie I witness that a lot! Good point you bring up. I have friends that say they can’t spend money on healthy foods but they’re in the Starbucks lane every morning buying ridiculously expensive drinks.
I agree with you guys so much. They are literally the type of people who complain about cost of living but are more than happy to spend money on junk food like chocolates and chips and other unnecessary stuff.
I used to pack healthy lunches for work at my old job and the other girls would make fun of me saying I was rich and they couldn’t afford it. Yet, they all had new fake nails, eyelashes done, and designer bags. I have non of these things. I guess it just depends where your priorities are. Neither are wrong are wrong i guess, you do want you want but don’t act like you couldn’t do the same thing because you can.
@@shellz_2135 yes, I had a coworker who always cried about not having money but then she would have expensive brand name clothing and accessories delivered to the office often. Another coworker said, “Wow, those are expensive brands she is buying.” I just kept quiet but it’s frustrating how people operate sometimes.
Really am so grateful to have found your channel. I've been following your recommendations since being diagnosed w diabetes & high cholestrol last year Dec. Eating your keto-friendly recipes & clean grocery shopping since then has turned my bad health report so drastic, that my doctor has half my cholestrol dosage & is trialling me to go off diabetes medication for a period. On top of all these healthy diet, I lost 12kg, my hubs lost 10kg over the same period. Awesome job, Bobby!
I came across Bobby's channel a few weeks ago. While I've studied health/nutrition for years and don't put chemicals in my body, have avoided dryer sheets for years, etc., I still sometimes learn from Bobby's videos, so thank you Bobby. Health is a never ending issue.
Cutting out processed carbohydrates and frozen foods has saved us so much on groceries. I only buy meat, eggs, fruit, veggies, and dairy products. In fact we quit buying meat at Walmart. It's actually cheaper and tastes better from a local butcher who buys locally farmed meat.
Since moving to Las Vegas, Nevada from Ohio, I cannot find a good butcher or Meat Market anywhere does anybody on here? Have any suggestions for a place in Las Vegas, Nevada?
In response to the "eating healthy is expensive" comment(s), I say this: I can be satisfied all day on $15 or less, whereas my husband can spend $20 at McDonald's and be hungry again later that day. I believe the reason is because healthier foods that sustain the body naturally fill us up due to the nutrients. If you eat a bunch of junk, your body will constantly be searching for more food in order to obtain those nutrients it needs. Give it what it needs in the first place, and avoid this cycle.
Also be cautious and double check items labeled 'wild caught'. I looked at the back of the packaging it said (product of China)! A couple of those grocery stores was Aldi and Safeway. I'm sure many other markets are selling this to fool the public. NO thank you. THANK YOU Bobby! My family and I ❤️ you and your family for helping us greatly in the last few years. Awaiting on FlavCity sales.
I noticed this too!!! I got what was marketed as “wild caught” but when I peeled off a little white sticker underneath it said product of China. My husband used to have to travel to China quite a bit. Trust me when I say you don’t want anything edible from China. It’s so polluted and filthy! Deplorable!
Thanks Bobby. I’ve found best prices for quality foods. Even gone as far as finding organic farms and whole sale fish markets. Now onto cleaning supplies and other things I use. It’s been a journey. Well worth it for me. I do find most people scared off by cost. But medical cost on the other side will be more. ❤❤
thank you for changing for the better. now its your job to spread the word. when you see people at the grocery store tell them about all of this. people might think "oh your just an organic freak" or a "smart ass" when in reality your saving their life and their family's life. cant trust most people. gordon ramsey especially. he says never buy frozen meats.... meanwhile you buy his cookware and its all made with cancer causing Teflon
Have learned more from Bobby in 3 weeks than I have in over 30 years. Thank you Bobby for sharing all this information to help identify ingredients to stay away from. My body is already feeling better.
Not to be that guy, but for your body to actually get results sadly takes several months to honestly feel and see the results. I have Crohn's disease. I know this being in a difficult situation. I do truly respect this comment tho I really hope you keep it up ppl are obviously rooting for you!

Most of the wild shrimp I buy comes from Argentina, and the remainder comes from the Gulf of Mexico. I do like the taste of the Argentinian shrimp best, however. Red Argentinian shrimp are a bright, attractive red color, even when they're raw, because they live in nutrient-rich all-natural, cold-water habitat. They don't have a fishy smell, but have a fresh, sweet flavor. They live up to their reputation as sweetest shrimp in the world. I also only buy wild salmon caught in the cold Pacific waters off the coast of Alaska. I would never buy salmon from the North Atlantic, as it is grown in filthy ocean pens and fed a diet of pellets made of who knows what.
Thank you for teaching me so much about grocery items and personal items, even cleaning items. I have almost eliminated cleaning products, even natural by using Norwex cleaning cloths & mop system. These use only water to clean because of their unique microfiber system.
When my brother-in-law was a baby, my mother-in-law said she used to use the plug is for nice smells. He started having asthma like symptoms and realized it was from the plug-ins. She discarded them.
Absolutely correct on the farm raised, they also feed them antibiotics. My Costco and Sam's Club has fresh and frozen wild Pacific Salmon, not to say Costco/Sam's Club doesn't have farm raised fish and shell fish items, one has to read the packaging/labels, its def a mixed bag at the stores. Another great video Bobby, thank you! 👏👏I had to laugh the other day at the grocery store, this couple was racing around fast trying to shop and one says to the other one, is that Bobby approved, OMGolly I couldn't quit silently laughing with joy! 😍😍
Oysters are one food that is BETTER farmed. I have an oyster business and people’s justified worry over farms is a constant issue for me. High-quality farmed oysters and clams are far superior in every way to most wild oysters and clams and generally from better, more pristine waters! Edit: I’m speaking of US and Canadian regulated farms only 😅
@@CrypticCocktails Where is your oyster & clam farm? I would like to purchase from you? Clean waters are better than wild caught cuz like wild catfish you don't know what they're eating?
Farmed shrimp in SE Asia raised in ponds where they also raise chickens above on perforated platforms then the poop is dropped into the ponds so the shrimp are raised on poop. Enjoy.
I just started using branch basics about two weeks ago and I bought the bottles that are all in glass. I’m excited!! I never have understood all these fragrances that they put all over peoples houses. I’m like just clean your house people it shouldn’t stink that bad and fragrances in things like pet products litter Febreze no way!! We use pine pellets for litter! I used to use Shaklee and am so excited about Branch Basics!!
how do the stores even allow him to film and talk about this?? hes literally showing you stuff that you should NOT buy! the store only looks bad for trying to sell us this terrible stuff, its amazing
There was actually one store and I can't remember which one that actually would not allow him to film in the store. I believe it was a Trader Joe's that he was in at that time. But he does get away with filming a lot in the stores and Advising what is good and what isn't.
Thank you so MUCH for taking the time to make this video . your App has extremely been such a help, it's been awesome using it at Wal-Mart and Kroger. Thank you very much.
Thank you so much for opening my eyes! I have revamped all our foods and some personal items. Your app is FABULOUS!!! I also appreciate all of your videos!❤
I love your videos, thanks to you and you’re Bobby approved app me and my family have been making healthier choices when it comes to food. My mom is diabetic and my dad has hypertension, my mom has been making strides when it comes to her health, her doctor even was surprised because he said instead of my moms diabetes worsening it’s actually reverted somewhat.
I’ve been following you for years and 😊love all your information. The non tonic Basic package is a great gift for a new wedding couple . Have a great week 🤗
I appreciate this video message. The information is very helpful. You genuinely care about people. I’m thankful for the time and energy you put into educating us. God bless you!😇
Can use orange peels, vanilla n cinnamon stick in some water on the stove on low, for smell. Don't need to buy any airfreshners. Also vinegar diluted with water in spray bottle, simple cleaner for stove n counters. Thanx for video, really enjoy the info n tips
My son’s great grandmother lived to be 104 years old. She started suffering from dementia at around 96 years old. She drank coffee with equal every morning. 😆 She also had all of her original adult teeth when she passed away. The mysteries of the human body.
Bobby, what do you mean when you say, “…can break your DNA”? Thank you for these videos. I have now stopped eating shrimp (the precooked with cocktail sauce in Costco’s refrigerated foods section) because it is probably farm raised; a bummer for me b/c it’s an easy-to-prepare meal for me as I am disabled-I could easily reach it from the fridge and take it to my dining table while in my wheelchair. As for toothpaste, laundry detergents, personal care products, air fresheners, etc., I don’t purchase these from the grocery, big box or pharmacy stores due to all the toxic chemicals they contain. Personally, I use Doterra products (an EO company), but I have heard Branch Basics is a great brand, so is Grove. Thanks again for your very helpful videos.
Obviously I'm not Bobby but I do non-human genetics work. Sucralose breaks down to something called sucralose-6-acetate where you do see genotoxicity aka DNA breaking. When intestinal cells are exposed that damage could kill cells lead to errors which can lead to cancer. Keep in mind that your body has the ability to recognize and deal with damage. The fear is cells not able to function properly can leave holes which may lead to leaky gut, markers associated with inflammation and oxidative stress. This is what that study early in the year showed and there are older studies showing similar occurances in mouse cells.
@marinashear3818 Obviously I'm not Bobby nor do I do non-human genetics work. While it may break the DNA, you should know that, as mentioned by a comment earlier, cells do have functions, both intracellularly and extracellularly (inside the cell and outside the cell), that recognizes damages to the DNA and can initiate processes to repair these lesions in the DNA by removing the damaged part and insert a new sequence OR repair the damaged sequence by direct reversal. If all else fails, the cell can undergo apoptosis, essentially suicide to not lead to cancer. If the apoptotic mechanism fails too, there are other cells, notably NK cells (Natural Killer cells) that can recognize stressed and damaged cells and directly kill these cells. Although he lays it out dramatic by saying that sucralose "breaks your DNA" it is mostly just a scare tactic, as there are a lot that can cause damage to the DNA, most commonly and notably alcohol (ethanol) and sunlight, but hey, who care about that right as he can't profit from people by stopping them from going in the sun and enjoy a glass of wine. I suggest that you take what Bobby says with a grain of salt and relax a little.
You should really continue eating that shrimp. Farm raised or not farm raised, it is actually a very good source of protein that's low in calories, fats, and carbs. There may be slightly more nutritional value from animals that have natural diets. But that doesn't mean that they are unhealthy for you. It's like taking a meal that would be a 8 out of 10 and making it a 9. The 8 still isn't bad for you. As for Breaks your DNA, it's fear mongering. I laughed a bit at it. Aspartane for example the research on it has shown that it's possible that it's carcinogenic. But they have no proof of it as of now. And that's only if taken in excess over long periods of time. The daily safe amount is 75-100 packets, or 7 to 12 diet sodas daily for a 165lb adult. So unless you are drinking a 12 pack every day, don't even worry about it.
Hi Bobby, great video ! I love the arm reaching up and getting the sweetener as you're talking about it, and the out of control toothbrush was too funny! We have the Whole Earth sweetener just behind you, monkfruit and stevia hope it's Bobby approved! 😀
Oh WOW Bobby an update review on Celsius! BRAVO! I always felt it was gimmicky marketed and I'm happy I never opened and returned it at Costco. THANK YOU again. 🌞
Thank-you. I can rarely afford wild-caught, grass-fed, etc. I try to eat as healthy as possible with frozen, canned, dried legumes and fresh fruit and veggies as I can budget in.
I had no idea that they even screw with toothpaste and feel like an idiot for not checking it out. Thank you Bobby! It almost seems that if a product has been around for decades and in the middle of the store, its freaking bad for you!
I love where your heart’s at , and I follow a lot of these guidelines as is , but things are SOOOOO expensive. And people Can’t always buy these items, Wild caught etc . I’d love to be able to afford all these things but we don’t all have that luxury (or $ 😕) Life is so freaking expensive, best u can do is be aware , and do what u can
I remember reading that SLS contributes to canker sores in the mouth. The toothpastes that I use now don't contain SLS and I haven't had a canker sore in years, when I used to get them so so bad - especially when my stress levels got high. My stress levels remain unchanged.
Thanks Bobby, you have such good advice, ordered my branch basics while you were talking lol. I have sensitivity issues with my teeth, been using sensodine for years but I will see if one of the brands you recommend has what I need for that
It's really crazy with significant grocers. 95% of everything in the store is terrible. It's all about profit. But the major grocers should be demanding better stuff from the suppliers. There is a growing movement to just leave that stuff on the shelf to rott. Fingers crossed.
Thanks for the great information on what not to buy. I’ve started buying what you recommend. I’m having problems finding good, hygiene items & other items that you recommend, we only have two grocery stores in our area, Walmart & Albertsons. Keep’m coming
I was watching you on RU-vid and my roommates were walking by, they ended up sitting down and watching it, and they were like "this is actually really interesting." I'm like "I know, isn't Bobby the best? He breaks it down so simple." It doesn't make me more confused and overwhelmed, ready to give up my efforts in consuming the least amount of chemicals and poisions as possible. Bobby is so encouraging and down to earth. His family is beyond lucky to have him. ❤❤❤
Any visit to a salmon hatchery you’ll learn how farm raised salmon are not raised in a pen. While it is true they initially start their lives in a farm, they are released out to sea for their migratory patterns for several years and then return back to the farm for spawning and processing.
I live in the Pacific NW. I know all the facts about farm raised salmon so I have never bought it for that. But, also, our local salmon is so good. I can't imagine anything else. It actually frustrates me to even see the farm raised in our stores.
Yeah, my wife always asks me if what I'm picking up is "Bobby approved". LOL!! Gotta love it but you've changed our lives in regards to what we look for in ingredients and we can both tell the difference already even though it has only been about 3 weeks since joining your channel. Please keep the videos coming Bobby! Also, love your app!
I never use artificial fragrance, candles, air freshners or any type in my household. Can’t stand the smell. Our laundry soap, dish soap must be always fragrance free.
6:16 Taurine is an amino acid. Your body makes some taurine on it's own. Most natural sources of taurine are in animal products, like beef and dark meat poultry, shellfish, and dairy. The kind you get in energy drinks and supplements are MADE in a LAB. Go natural and get your taurine. 😅
I was totally going to to make this comment for a disabled person who has not been approved for Disability and lives on Basically nothing. I have a lot of medical problems and I want to learn how to eat better so badly. I’ve been watching these videos and trying to learn, however, I cannot find these products anywhere, especially I have to order them to be delivered because I can't walk. I was approved for EBT due to the fact that I can’t work because of my disabilities and trying to eat with the amount of Ebt that they give it’s very hard to eat healthy because of the prices not to mention not being able to walk and prepare my own meals, I don’t have anybody to prepare meals so things have to be easy and fast and that means it almost everything is preserved which means it’s processed Help. what can I do Bobby tell me.
Well said, Salmon starts on trays, in fridges, given antibiotics, and toxic dye for it's colour in New Zealand, it's terrible, there are so many people getting allergies, that law makers are looking into this and that's only the beginning.
This is why I don't bad mouth fast food chains like McDonald's. They don't offer you anything worse than what you normally find in grocery stores. And they're not forcing people to buy anything. It's impossible to live in a perfect world where there is no harm. They exist for a reason. It's our responsibility to avoid danger or things that are bad for our health.
The researchers that did the sucralose study stated that sucralose found in splenda was not studied but a different strain of sucralose that the researchers stated is not found in splenda
Bobby, what a blessing you are!!! Too bad we older folks did not have you around many years ago so we could have been living much cleaner lives long before now!!!! But, certainly better late than never! The information you share is invaluable. With sincere appreciation for your dedication to this mission and for all that you do in such an excellent manner!!!
I notice a new trend in marketing or maybe it has been there and I haven’t noticed it. But I am seeing a lot of “organic sugar” in ingredient lists. they know people want organic and are trying to stay away from sugar so now they are trying to make sugar sound good
Imagine the workers in the supermarkets, garden centers, dollar stores, breathing the chemicals all day long. This needs to be addressed. I was a teacher and many of the learning disabled students were children of workers exposed to harmful chemicals in their jobs… cleaners, landscapers, factory workers.
Years ago I walked into one of the big clothing stores with just about everything made in China. The toxic odor was so bad my eyes burned, skin started itching and chest tightened. If the clothes are that bad I am sure the food is too.
Couple years ago I came to realization I wasn't happy with the commercialized minty toothpaste I've been using. It just felt too sugary or sweet tasting (no I don't eat it but it's still very sweet while brushing) so I walked into a health-foods store and bought tea tree based toothpaste and though it was wildly different over the minty one, I feel better and not like I've been scrubbing my teeth with a sugar cube. For the sugar... so far I don't have a substitute for powdered-sugar for frostings but I do try to make my own applesauce over the stove (just skinned, cored apples until soft) and use it in place of sugar in my baking recipes, same with mashed up speckled bananas.
Bobby I’m curious about your take on erythritol , lots of recent studies coming out showing it has numerous health effects on your heart. So far many have been able to establish strong correlation, and a couple have followups that establish high suspicion. Removed it from my diet in favor of just stevia and monk fruit products, though kinda sad some products I loved use it.
@tm-te9mh Not sure which studies you have been looking at that shows the numerous health effects erythritol has on one's heart. In the report from A. Mazi and L. Stanhope's [1] paper (2023), it was mentioned that there were a lack of studies investigating the effects of chronic consumption of erythritol, thus I quote "it is to be expected that clinical dietary intervention studies that have investigated effects of erythritol consumption on risk factors for cardiometabolic diseases are also lacking". However, they marked a pilot study containing 24 patients diagnosed with Type II diabetes who were put on a 26 g/day diet of erythritol for 4 weeks. In the results, the patients exhibited a reduction in arterial stiffness and improved endothelial function. An endothelial dysfunction contributes to cardiovascular disease in Type II diabetes. Additionally, a sub-group of 12 subjects with systolic blood pressure >130 mmHg experienced reduced systolic blood pressure. These observationes have also been found in rodent studies and in vitro tests. In a paper by Boesten et al. [2, 2015], in a study in endothelial cells it was found that erythritol alone had no effect on the endothelial cells. However, under high glucose conditions, erythritol was able to reverse a number of deleterious effects. Ultimately, Bernt et al. [3] Erythritol: A Review of Biological and Toxicological Studies (1996) no acute , sub-acute nor chronic toxicity were found on neither mouse nor dogs when fed on a high erytritol diet. The largest issue found in high erythritol consumption was its laxative effect [1] Mazi, T.A.; Stanhope, K.L. Erythritol: An In-Depth Discussion of Its Potential to Be a Beneficial Dietary Component. Hey Bobby! Question, just curious of your opinion in regards to the wild shrimp from the gulf. I've been leery of Gulf seafood since the BP spill and they not only dumped a load of additional chemicals into the water to "disperse" (aka make it sink) the oil instead of properly cleaning up the spill, but now all that sludge lays at the bottom still exposing the water to those chemicals etc. Is it really that good of a choice to choose from this area? Not trying to trash the Gulf area companies in any way. Just an honest concern and question. Thanks!
