I’ve noticed the comics code star on comics that predate comics code sometimes by several years. As far as I’ve been able to determine, the Star was a way to calm mothers and make them think that the comic was safe but it was not actually approved by a comics code authority. It was a way for comic publishers to survive
@@ComicCollectorGeek thanks for the info. I haven’t been able to find that answer anywhere. I found the star on several disturbing Atlas PCH covers that I can’t imagine a comics code authority approving. I even searched CGC boards. Where can I go for more info like this?
i read a few miss americas they were fun. she was in the invaders with only flight powers so i was shocked about her other powers especially the x ray vision. was that the first cosplay cover?
wow great books,....underworld crime is ed ashe cover maybe,..... i now need a copy of crime detective 9 ! werthams face almost looks dr nirvana esque on wall behind you, what grade are the diary of horror and mister mystery 5,...? that jack kamen, to me is right up there with baker,... i have the brenda starr cover w/her as a mermaid,...it has kamen art also.... kamen had some memorable covers in the atomic, or late golden age period,... liked the video,...
