Thanks for this video! I have decided to return next year at the prime age if 26, and I'm scared. Your video helped with some of my worries.

You are very welcome :). You will be two years less ripe than I was when I turned up haha. Best of luck, and if you have any questions fire away and I will make a video to answer whatever I can. Thank you for the comment!

I am starting uni next year at the age of 34. Your second point addressed my greatest fear (other than finances - covering living expenses moreso than tuition). Very, very good point! Cheers!

Another drawback are the Professors, who doesn’t take you seriously, and think that you will drop out by the next semester.

I found as a BIG drawback going back to school, compared to 25 years ago.. is the difficulty of online learning. Especially, when you have no support from any staff that put this program in place..in the first place.

Another drawback is there is lack of support for the “mature” student.

you will find other mature age students for support.

If you complain to upper management within the college regarding your concerns, they WILL brush you off...saying.. “We will NOT change the curriculum for ONE student.”... TRUE story.

I'm from the US and uni is just too expensive, so I decided to move to Europe to become a physiotherapist at age 28. this video helped, defiantly understand what you mean at 18-20 you're not willing to do the work as much as when you're older because of your drive, was a bartender for 6 years and hated working as one every since covid hit. thanks for the video!

Youre hella silly. College in USA isnt that bad. Pellgrant (given to all citizens) literally pays 100% of community college for 2 years and you pay like 20k to finish at a 4 year.

Sad to say I quit uni today. With the covid and being dyslexic it was becoming too stressful for me and I wasn't getting on with others. I also felt that I was the joke of the course and wasn't listened to.

I have dyslexia and was able to get a master's in mathematics. I believe in you. Find something that works with your dylseixa and just do it. You have loads of time, you can even go into insiderty for a few years and go back.

Also...half my teachers are younger than I am... which can be difficult, especially if you have a specific learning style you expect from experience. Face to face teaching compared to 100% online learning.

I was confused being among yestarday- school-pupils and youth first time, but now get used to all of it. It's just a question of time

Hi man I'm planning on going to uni for the first time at 26 turning 27 next April to do biomedical science and was just wondering how you went about applying since you said on your old channel you didn't have A levels. I'm in the same situation I do have a BTEC level 3 but didn't do too great in it and that was 8 years ago. Did you do an access to he course or foundation year etc just confused about the whole ucas process tbh as it's not so cut and dry for us mature students. Thanks for the content mate and good luck with your course.

Thanks for your video. I am thinking of returning to university as a VERY mature student. I am in my 40s and have been a musician all my life but would now like to study music production as I have a lot of experience in this field... any thoughts?

Hi, and thanks for watching and commenting! I wouldn't call yourself a VERY mature student as I have met several Undergrad students in their 60s and one in his 70s! You are only as mature as you feel my friend ;). That aside, it sounds like you have a ton of experience and are likely to be snapped up. I would just make sure you research the universities you are interested in and apply to ones who value 'non traditional students'. Good luck!

Great video! You don't see much insight about studying as a 'mature student.' The term makes me cringe as I'm 26! haha. Have you completed your studies now? :)

Helpful insights, thank you. 37 here, never been to uni. Does student finance pay for living costs as well as tuition fees? Do they loan the money for living costs or just give it to you? Thank you

you will get all the same entitlements as a 18 year old that's course fees to the uni and up to 9k maintenance loan paid to you to help with rent/ mortgage ect

In Canada, college and university is a totally different mentality. You, my friend are still quite young, at 28, compared to us older folks who are in their mid 40’s and up. I found the older you are, the harder you fit in. Also, it depends on the program you are in. The attraction to younger participants compared to older ones.
@rvpstudioscanada3991
@rvpstudioscanada3991 5 лет назад
When I say, “attraction”...I am referring to the course attraction..from the view of the older student compared to the younger student.
