Sorry, I know this has nothing to do with this video. But I happened to notice an interesting issue with Cataph's Southern Realms (TEB) mod. In the notes, Cataph says "Since 5.0, campaign effects will show units you don’t have access to (e.g., Black Watch as Border Princes). I can’t fix this, CA would need to roll back the change." I don't know what Black Watch is, but I have heard a lot of talk about DOW, and was wondering if this bug is due to something CA is doing for WH3? Just something I picked up in passing, and was wondering what your thoughts were. Thanks in advance!
The fact that the Elven character doesn't speak, doesn't need to be a problem. Makes voice lines that other units speak about him, like "the captain of the Phoenix guard is with us, we shall prevail" or something like that. And leave it in the middle which unit spoke about him. Just a thought 😅
Maybe have some chorus sing his name when you click on him, like some opera. Or maybe some weird magical distorted burning sound representing his magical blessing and brand.
No Nate. I ain't gonna agree with you here. Sehenesmet has rules. He was first mentioned in the 2004 Warhammer Fantasy Battles Chronicles Book and in the 6th ED Tomb Kings army book. Then GW Australia released his own rules page and expanded his lore a bit. Dude is literally a lord choice since he takes both a lord slot (because he counts as a High Liche Priest) as well as a rare slot (due to being inside a Bone Giant). Even his lore says that his title of Vizier makes him the de-facto ruler of Quatar due to the fact of leading the priest that managed the city state due to Quatar being a place of overall worship and thus didn't have any king that ruled it. Not to mention that Sehenesmet also had his own construct-heavy army list. He literally is perfect DLC material to add in High Liche Priests as generic lords choices along with a list of constructs. No more turning obvious cool LL choices into LHs. Apophas and Ramhotep as DLC LHs. Khatep as FLC LH for Settra. Edit: Also the whole has no model argument is kinda moot since there are models and characters who didn't have official models and were implemented either way. I'm looking at the likes of the Hierotitan and Ghoritch. Edit2: And don't get me started with Coeddil who had no rules, no model, and was only part of the lore and background (especially when it came to Athel Loren spirits like Durthu and Drycha). @@DarthEnderX Damn straight. And so is mine. There are a few like Tutankhanut, but while I like the idea of a roster made of both undead and living in the likes of the von Carstein...the Chad Vizier and his army of awesome constructs is cool in every way.
Khatep as LH? Why? Hes already a cool LL in the game, why would he need to be placed from LL to LH. I dont know TK lore so much so if you can explain to me why he should be a LH then I would be grateful!
Ska Bloodtail and Chakax come to mind. Tyrion's squire could be one, Korhil could be one, Cavill might as well become one. Ogg Halfheart is sorely missing for Aranessa, Drekla could be turned from a follower into one for Harkon. There are many more options.
Lycanthropes would actually be an awesome new unit when Norsca finally gets some love. Maybe give them the ability to transform in combat, but they're rampaged the whole time.
Vampire Coast does not need a LH for everyone. Certainly Aranessa (who is not gonna get moved since Sigvald wasn't) does not need an Undead hero. Drekla for Harkon is fine. And Sehenesmet should obviously be a LL, with Apophas as the LH (who is outright forbidden from leading armies and is hated by his fellow people). He can buff constructs just as well as a LL.
They made a comment in one of the recent QAs or maybe it was just on reddit stating they have been working on certain Lords having multiple start options with multiple races (ie Sigvald for Warriors and Slaanesh) they just hadn’t figured it out yet and weren’t sure they would do it. It’s entirely possible they could get added to other races.
Squeel is a pretty interesting choice for Skaven. But the reasoning for Ska being only for Queek as a reason not to doesn't work with how many legendary heroes are Legendary Lord specific. Belegar's ancestor ghosts, Ghorich for Throt(another Skaven LH), Coeddil for Drycha, and so on. Ska Bloodtail can still be brought in, but he can only be acquired by other Skaven factions through confederation like all the other lord specific Legendary Heroes.
Most of those are Unique Heroes, not Legendary Heroes. There's only a couple Legendary Heroes that are locked to a single LL. Pretty much just Ghoritch and Kayzk.
like a character pack? I'm actually down for that, even if it doesn't feature any units. There are a lot of races that has enough units but not enough characters to play with. Of course this should take place after all the races have been nicely balanced out in terms of gameplay and units.
Even though I don’t play skaven It’d be really cool to have that as a thing, or at least have boneripper work like a mount which different versions of him unlock as Thanquol levels. Like maybe at level one he is like Gobbla for as Skaranik and just is attached, then at a later level he works like Krell and can move independently. And lastly he becomes a monster mount like in the End Times.
Hmm I think ska would be more impactful as he would buff infantry and Queek which needs buffing more than rat ogres and such needs buffing. God I need storm fiends though. Mutant rat ogres get nuked by t-3 garrisons in autoresolve. Ammunition would fix that.
They need to spice up Shadow Blade with some magical powers. Maybe he can deploy an illusionary decoy like Aliyah Anar. They should also make him look like he has living shadow coming off of him, take inspiration from the Khainite Shadowstalkers of Warcry
I’d honestly like Shadowblade to be elevated to lord, like many other heroes have been. Like death master sniktch, could be a unique campaign that has a good reason to be out east. I just don’t think think remaining options for LL slots offer much variety from what we already have. Edit: and they DEF will not add Vangheist, as awesome as that would be. During the whole Cylostra debacle, the community was trashing Vangheist hard. Idk why, but everyone seems to hate him for no reason.
What would be cool to see for Vampire Coast, would be a unit that is somewhere between a Marienburg Land Ship and Mortis Engine - a Ghost Ship if you will. I still think CA should do Stromfels cultists as a unit, perhaps with an ogre style shark man unit for some extra melee punch and Stromfels Harbinger as a LL (from the audiobook Slayer of the Storm God).
I love Skweel Gnawtooth because he’s basically a Skaven version of Fluttershy. It would be so weird (in a cool way) to have a Skaven that actually acts nice - at least to his animal minions. But it would feel very strange to have him in the game without a Giant Rat pack unit. Also he would need some crazy whip attack animations.
After seeing some of the nice things that CA came up with and got approved by GW I would love to see Moonclaw, son of Morshlieb make his way into the beastmen roster. Seeing as TWWarhammer alows for a lot more specialization of power in their hereos and units you could make some amazing things with this guy. Hell just his mount Umbralock in itself could make for a nice fun grizzly beast. Start him off akin to a Juggernaut or Demigryf, slap Moonclaw on top, give him some rad stuff and making him into the hellspawn made manifest he was always meant to be (at least according to lore). You could even give him the demon prince ascension mechanic, where he wouldnt really became a DP, but rather Umbralock would turn into full sized monster mount and Moonclaw would properly manifest as warp and bestial magic given form by unlocking some extra lvl up upgrades and power boost to his magic, comet skill and combat power. Just make him awesome, the poor sod has short and unique lore that could put him in almost same field as greater deamons simply due to WHAT he is, but never got a chance to shine. Kinda like the whole 7th Ed Beastmen codex haha...
side note: i think vampire coast should get a DLC with a "cathay vampire theme" like a unique subfaction showing cathay vampires + sea theme perhaps against yinyin "normal cathay / big warjunk" style ?
I hope Norsca gets the spotlight, the desperately need new lords and heroes. them being an evil faction is just bad as there's good vikings in fantasy.
I don't see a problem with Captain Vangheist. Gaze of Nagash is a spell and nobody's saying therefore Nagash can't be in the game. A good buddy of mine believes Thanquol will be a legendary hero, because he's always working for or with someone else in the lore. I'm not buying it myself. Sure, Gotrek and Felix are both not lords (anymore), but Thanquol is a villain-he's proactive, not reactive. Plus, it would be a damn shame if he didn't get his own faction. Incidentally, maybe Lurk Snitchtongue would be a possible choice for a legendary hero..?
What if no one starts with Sartosa? It's a neutral location after all and could be interesting if it was held by a minor faction with a really strong army + garrison similar to the skavens at Nagashizzar or the Tomb Kings at the Black Pyramid. As she is of Norscan descent and has beef with them she could start anywhere in the northern ports. Of course Aranessa could be "reimbursed" by being given a stronger starting army and a better landmark for her starting location.
@@hyena3028 I think that’s a great idea! If there was a dlc later for norsca it would be cool if they changed arnesa’s start. An update with baersonling wearbear guy from dogs of war would be cool bc maybe they add pirates or coastal units idk but having saltspite able to recruit norscans would be dope
@@hyena3028 if more pirates were added it could be a variety of different factions. Norscan, Greenskin, Dwarf, High Elf, Empire, Skaven, undead, etc. would love to see another coast like dlc too, that could even introduce the mortal units for Arnessa. A bunch of pirate themed units and lords for factions that sail the seas.
@@oxmor well, we already have the slayer pirates checked out. If we get a Dogs of War DLC i reckon some of their units would also land in Vampirates roster. They could even be renamed to fit with the vampirates!
Your talk about the skaven hero made me think, a DLC after the Chaos God ones are done could focus on swarms and give every race a swarm unit, along with a bunch of legendary heroes scattered around where they work with swarms.
Caradrian (or however you spell it) could just like the khainite assasin for the dark elves not talk, or maybe make some grunts or sounds but not like speech
If they are gonna add character packs, at some point it would be too many LL and factions on the map, or certain parts of the map. I would more enjoy character packs, with LH of course, that introduce LL that can be acquired by some factions of a race or all factions of the race. That way you can have more fluff with your favourite faction, the map wouldn't be cramped and you don't lose a possible LL if your brother/sister factions die.
Regarding Character Packs. After Emil Valgeir the Ar-Ulric with Cult of Ulric with Middenland units from Storm of Chaos and Toddy as Total War Access I want a character pack “Summon the Elector Counts!”. Valmir von Raukov, Marius Leitdorf and Aldebrand Ludenhof as LL’s with Ludwig Schwarzhelm as a LH.
Beorg Bearstruck could be a LH, but he'd be even better as a LL with a mercenary focused Norscan campaign abroad, plus he's canonically the Chieftain of the Ursfjordings, and as Chieftains are the generic lord of the faction, it'd be weird to demote him to jobber for someone else. I honestly don't know who to give them as LH as all of the candidates I can think of could just as easily be LLs and they simply add more to the game that way. Shadowblade is perfect LH material, approved! Caradryan would make a pretty good LH, as the PG are explicitly guardians of the Flame of Asuryan and the Phoenix King, just hope that the generic variant (cannot recall their name) are heroes as well. Skweel Gnawtooth is also a fantastic choice for LH. Hopefully we get Giant Rat Swarms as a unit alongside him, the model is already there in the game, and they'd just have to work as a halfway point between Wolf Rats and Skavenslaves. Chakax, again a perfect LH choice. (Personally I'd like Lord Tenuchli as a LL he comes with so we could get an alternative Slann LL, with Tetto'ekko also coming as LL of course!) Vangheist as LH. I'm in begrudging agreement with this. His ship is a spell for the entire race, and Cylostra Direfin pretty much takes his place as the ghost LL. Sehenesmet is way too awesome to be a LH IMO. Vizier of Quatar, a wizard and a monstrous LL which is insanely different. Ramhotep is much more vanilla while focusing on constructs as well, so I'd hope for the former as the LL and Ramhotep as the LH coming with him. Another poster already put it so much better than I have.
I've given it some thought and I think CA should make the "Hand of the Shadow Crown" a LH character exclusive to Nargarythe. He could buff up your army by increasing their ambush chance and also give stat bonus' to regular Shadow Warriors. It would be a way of adding some Nagarythe themed flavour to an otherwise regular HE army. It would be a nice alternative to running a full Shadow-walker army with Alith Anar.
IMHO I agree that Legendary Heroes that are attached to DLCs should be made for the race as a whole, while FLC Legendary Heroes should be faction specific. It's a shame CA already made their move with the Golden Knight, Garagrim Ironfist, Kayzk the Befouled and Theodore Bruckner. Those LHs would have been better as FLC LHs as these characters would look extremely out of place or weird for working with other factions other than their own. and yet we would feel unsatisfied if we are unable to recruit them when we play other factions of the same race. Pushing for DLC LHs that are available for the race as a whole, while still making sense, like the Blue Scribes, Saytang the Watcher and hopefully Skweel Gnawtooth is the way to go.
Never heard of that tomb king character at the end, seems really cool. By the way to the people wanting Nagash, you get tall hat boy or nothing, keep age of smegmar away from my beautiful game :P
It would be so cool to give the Tomb Kings a character who is a sculpture and architect, rather than a warrior or assassin. Tomb Kings just don’t do the “lone wondering badass” thing.
Character packs with 2-3 LL's and 4-6 LH's or something like that do need to become a thing. LH's in particular besides a few that might need quite unique models seem like they would be fairly easy so they really could add many with not a ton of extra effort.
I wanted "werebears"/lycanthropy being reintroduced through the "new" kislev. I think mother O having access to werebears for example would have fit the kislev and mother O themes really well. That being said, ill take bjorg bearstruck for norsca. They likely would change his lore to be more associated to skinwolves, or at least allow him bonuses to buff them(unless they add werebears to norscas roster).
I like your videos, these characters are cool and hope they come in. But I would have liked one more DLC for each race. Why is because there may be new units that can lift up certain factions. I like vampire coast but it feels like it lacks stuff there like units, characters and some mechanics that lift them up. Granted they are in a good position but would have liked to have something more than just lots of pirate zombies.
I disagree, I think the Vampire Coast needs, if not another DLC, then an update/rework. They're fun to play as is, but I really want Aranessa to get more Sartosan/Dogs of War love, Direfin could use more Bretonnian themed units, and I want to see at least one more LL for them (something Cathayan would be cool). They're game mechanics could probably be improved upon (I haven't played them in awhile so I can't remember) but I certainly want to see more visual differences in the undead (including Vampire Counts as well) where there's different variations of undead units for Bretonnian and Cathayan zombies, skeletons/wights, and generic lords/heroes, to really give more flavor to the faction which is all they really need.
Shouldn't one of the named verminlords be a LH(skreech verminking)? Ska bloodtail could be another good one, or Veskit(assasin with skryre augments is unique/cool).
You have to own both Pharaoh and Troy to have the access to the new update Dynasties? Or if you own one of them you will automatically have the full game anyway?
I agree with everything but the statement:"vampire coast is fine just needs some tweaks and doesn´t need a dlc" the faction is so bad that even 2 fullstacks of their only doomstackable unit, struggle against 4 endgame crisis armies (as legend showed). They got a ton of bad units and some mediocre ones. What they need are some decent mount options and a whole rework of their mechanics. I don´t see a massive rework happening if not combined with a dlc. Like they are based around gunner units but in comparision to dwarfs, chaos dwarfs, empire and archer based factions like cathay and highelves they are the worst at what they should do best.
If voice work for the High Elf guy is really an issue, you could have someone else talk about him in the third person, reacting to whatever actions the player assigns him and that still keeps him silent.
The themes along ALL of these heroes seem to be "They must be able to integrate seamlessly in every subfaction in order to be a legendary hero. And I think this is why legendary heroes aren't necessarily something all factions should have. There's a lot of flavor in letting units be unique, even if they don't fit into every faction. Hell, I'd argue that Ulrika doesn't fit well into the Empire when you're playing Volkmar or Wulfhart
we don't have them in game yet, because players are continously crying over getting LH instead of LL. Beorg Bearstruck is not a legendary hero, he is a regiment champion.
i dont see why you woul dbe bothered by not having voice on one character => we never had any voices for khainite assassin since WH2 launch (which is normal)
I have always wondered, is this community like in the closet as it pertains to loving mods? Because most of these legendary heroes spoken of here have been modded in by talented individuals since game 1 or 2. Hell, there's a huge mod that includes custom voice work on top of assets for like 100+ lords and heroes. I get wanting official support, I gobble that shit up too, but in the mean time these legendary heroes exist in game.
I think a single lorefully unvoiced character is a good idea. It’d make him stand out, and the community memes would be lovely. Like Khezu from monster Hunter has a completely silent theme. Every other monster has a unique theme song while Khezu has a completely silent 3ish minute track. Khezu is considered one of the (if not THE) creepiest monsters in the franchise, in no small part due to the effect of its theme song.
