The most underrated franrance from this house in my opinion is Opus Kore! It may seem simple at first but I find it so unique. Especially with the acai berry in the start! Dear Polly is also such a lovely realistic tea scent.
I was really curious about this house since I've heard good things about their fragrances and also because the perfumer is the one who created Bal d'Afrique and Unnamed for Byredo, fragrances that I simply love. I've only sampled Morning chess, but I am quite interested in Chicago high, Dear Polly, Do not disturb, Poets of Berlin, Smoke show and 125th & bloom, so maybe I will order a discovery set to try out these perfumes. I first discovered Vilhelm Parfumerie in Antwerp, Belgium, in 2016, it must have been. Went back there on a day trip from Germany just to buy Morning Chess (which I feel is much crisper in the drydown than Aventus - that one I don't like as I find it to smell moldy and stuffy). Only a few months later, Vilhelm could also be found in several stores in my home country and even city. They are pretty much everywhere now in upscale department stores or perfumeries. It was a nice day trip none the less. I've also come to like and own Basilico & Fellini and, especially, Black Citrus.
I'm so pleased you made this video. This house has been difficult for me. I just cannot put my finger on what it is that has made me so unable to fall for their fragrances. Whenever I'm at their counter I just pick them up one after another, thinking 'meh' as I sniff. Then I smile, say, 'thank you very much' to the lovely consultant behind the counter and move on. I'm as puzzled as anybody about why I'm so indifferent to Vilhelm. I will order a handful of samples and really spend some time with them. Poets of Berlin is an interesting gourmand though: lemon blueberry pancakes. What fun! Cheers for this encouraging video. Much chastened.
I really like Morning Chess, is what I wish Aventus got in quality and performance, I couldn't care less for Aventus OG anymore, this one is my perfect go to when I've got Aventus cravings. Need to try the others. Thanks for the video Sebastian!!!
I really like your reviews. But I really wish if you could mention where they lean in-terms of gender. I live in a country where smelling niche fragrances is almost impossible. So blind buying is the only way forward and I would like all the details possible to make an informed decision.
I love this house … have the sample pack but I really want to try them all. Unfortunately they aren’t easy to find in stores. Poets is my favorite so far as well! Love your channel so much!

Vilhelm is my favorite fragrance house right now. I absolutely love and own Mango skin (love), Out Affair (favorite), Chicago High (another favorite), Dear Polly (obsessed), Morning Chess and Room Service.
You dont have your hat on for a change! 😁 I just ordered 3 samples from this house weeks ago. I was curious to try Poets of Berlin after hearing a description but also ordered Mango Skin and Morning Chess. Morning Chess is a masculine smell in my opinion and Ive never smeled Creed Aventus. Poets of Berlin is definitely sweet but in a subdued kind of way....kind of like dry fruit (think blueberries) instead of fresh fruit. The Mango Skin was the star for me. It smells like a fresh, alive Mango with a citrus note that kind of kicks you in the nostril upon first sniff (in a good way 😇) The Mango Skin really lasts a long time too! Im considering getting a bottle of that one. Its exquisite!
I just got a sample of Poets of Berlin and it's really good! I keep smelling it on my hand and it's really unique in a great way. I also love David Bowie so I may need a full bottle eventually.
I recently picked up the Discovery Set from Vilhelm, and I’m trying out the first one today, Poets of Berlin. I also immediately loved the way it smells, and it immediately reminded me of La Vie Est Belle and Sofia-I wonder if it’s similar to JPG La Belle, as the structure seems similar with the fruit, vanilla, and vetiver. Curious about others’ experience, I found your video, and it was so very helpful. I was mostly curious about your experience of Poets, but your video is so comprehensive, once I get through these samples, I’m now curious about others from Vilhelm that were not included in the set. Many directions to go now, thank you!
Saw these bottles in mecca here in Australia and I loved the sturdy bright look of them then I saw mango skin, then smelled it and I was in. Just ordered the discovery set online from America because it's not available her in Oz unfortunately, can't wait to get it. I'm feeling ill love the basil one.

It's funny because poets of berlin is beast mode with me with literally two sprays I get compliments and asked about my fragrance everywhere every time I put it on and it last on my skin for 3 days solid until I wash it off and if it's on my wrists and I wash them it still lingers I have to read soap up and scrub to get it off and wash about two or three times so it's definitely beast mode on me it's funny how differently perfumes act on and with everyone's body chemistry
Tried a few of Vilhelm parfumeries fragrances (alongside a myriad of other niche houses) at a cute little fragrance shop in Parma. Loved purple fig and especially Basilico & Felini. Ended up taking the latter back home with me to Norway as it was one of the only fragrances i tried that wasnt something that resembled a fragrance i had at home.
DEAR POLLY is my most favourite from this house, its smell so so good and I found It's exactly the same as NEST INDIGO and likely the same as MIXED EMOTIONS BYREDO
I adore the bottles, beautiful design from legendary designer Pierre Dinand. I expected more from the house though, Chicao High is incredible and I enjoy Dear Polly a lot and Body Paint is an interesting creation by Marc-Antoine Corticchiato but lot of disappointments, Poets and Mango I had high expectations for but they fell flat.
I didn't have a good first impression with this house since i bought Basillico & Fellini and realized that it is very similar to Marc Jacobs Men that I blind bought from TjMaxx for a fraction of the price.
first of all, i love Morning Chess.. I agree that they are not overwhelming fragrances, but really great scents... i have yet to try the others from the house... but from the ones i tried, Morning Chess and A Poet of Berlin are my faves..
Most of Vilhelm Parfumerie fragrances are too much for me, like too sharp for my nose or something but I appreciated Basilico&Fellini and Dear Polly is my totaltotal love from this house 😍
On my skin, Poets of Berlin smells like sweet pipe tobacco. Not my style but very well done, if you like that style. It reminded me a little of Chergui from Serge Lutens.
I've tried Poets of Berlin multiple times and I feel like I'm the only person who doesn't get the hype. I like vanilla, but that's mostly all I get from it besides a faint powdery musk, I didn't smell lemon or blueberry at all, just a faint green smell in the open that disappeared pretty quickly. If all people are going to smell is vanilla when I walk by I might as well have just slapped vanilla extract on my skin instead of spending 250 dollars on a perfume.
You are missing Mango Skin and Chicago High both excellent and solid options from this house. Out of the ones you spoke about I don't know A Lilac A Day and Flour Burlesque. They sound too floral?

The only ones I have from the house are B&F, the oud affair, morning chess and Chicago high. I think the oud affair and Chicago high are my 2 favorites but morning chess is a easy wear

I have Morning Chess lots of compliment s when I wear and I have the Back Door so wearable at work soothing and makes me feel so relaxed . Would like to try more .

Morning chess is great Aventus alternative. I prefer it over Aventus. Aventus is so overrated. This seems a bit more leather and smoke on me. A great win from VP.
I always layer Aventus and Virgin Island Water, when I sampled Morning Chess, I was amazed on how similar it is. Wondering about duration, I think Creed’s performance is a little better.
