The Vegan base is fantastic. In my top3. The lather it produces is so rich and thirsty that I couldn't start the shave because I had to give the soap a ton of water.

Great list. I’ve tried these all except Omnibus so far. All very good. I would say First Line Shave has a note worthy base with their 3.0 base

First Line is excellent! Have you tried Nordost, Brian? A great naturalistic orange scent that’s available in Omnibus, in case you looking for a scent to try it in!

You can always buy from the individual artisan, otherwise there's a bunch of online vendors like The Razor Company, Maggard Razors, West Coast Shaving, Pasteur's Pharmacy and others.

I would say it's gotten a bit more blurred since 2021 in that my Top 5-10 shaving soaps as far as performance go can be interchangeable. A&E and B&M are still in my Top 5.

I didn't know Chicago Grooming was making Mammoth. She is an outstanding artisan on her own merits and her duck fat base is one of the best.

Yes, I think it was a good solution to the supply problem! Chicago Grooming in currently working on an update to their duckfat base, so be on the lookout for that in the next few months!

Super list though personally I would never use M&M Kodiak base; I think we ought to leave the darn bears alone and not support use of bear tallow. Cheers Jon.

@@Latherhog I don't mind tallow from cattle which some may find inconsistent but cattle are raised domestically for food and using the fat is just about using the whole animal when it is going to be taken for food in any event; taking a wild animal that lives in nature is something different. @@POOKIE5592 Ok got it. So this list focused primarily on shave soap performance, and despite base funk issues in the past, I had counted among the top performers. That's why it was in my top list.
