For anyone considering the Instapump Fury shoes: after a while mine started to develop air leaks and the left one can barely hold pressure for more than half an hour, so I basically have no lockdown on my feet by the end of the day. Just something to be aware of.
One underrated thing about Antwon's videos is that I can play my fav music playlist in the background while watching his videos bc he doesn't put background music.
Don’t let your association of an item with an individual or group of individuals put you off getting something, If you look at some models of salomons objectively removed from all the other stuff they are pretty suitable for Techwear
I was looking at an upcoming Nike x Undercover shoe that would probably fit in this video. It has a bunch of tech-like features and a military inspired look, but it’s priced at $350. I don’t see myself paying quite that much for a Nike.
To this day, I'm glad I got to watch this video. It gave me my top 1 sneaker of all time, had a hard time getting a pair them but it was worth it. Huarache Gripp are 🔥🔥
The newer batch of ACR prestos don’t go for much nowadays, so if you want the silhouette with different colors, that’s definitely an option. But for an entirely different shoe, higher top running or trail shoes really get the job done! Examples like Flyknit Mercurials, Magistas, Footscape Mids (Ant, definitely try these ones out), KMYTRs, etc.
the Li Ning Essence 2 Ace shoe are pretty dope. Been wanting to pick up a pair myself, I think they have a pretty darn futuristic vibe that would work well with a lot of fits. They also come in lots of colors which is nice, and seem to be very breathable because of the net upper
Just copped a pair of Reebok Zig Kinetica II Edge Gore-Tex before I left for a trip. I've been eyeing them for about a year now and they seem pretty neat.
I literally bought a pair of Grey Nike GRIPPs after watching this video like over a year ago. I still have them and wear them with a LOT of fits. I LOVE those shoes, they're honestly my most favorite pair I own, other than the Nike ISPA Drifter Envelopes.
Check out the "winterized" mid Prestos if you can! Completely slept on! Got my mid Prestos in dark brown, tan, and OD green-ish for less than retail. They're great. Not too warm either, although I do live in the PNW.
Great recomandations, I also own a pair of vapormax plus (full black) and Terrex. I would also want to hint you a few sneakers that will do a great job in your outfit: Puma ignite evoknit 2 are great. It's a super affordable shoe and they feel nice on feet. Check it out. Nike airmax 90 winter edition triple black / ultra winter edition. They are super clean and do wonders in your outfit. Adidas NMD XR1 tripple black also worth a look.
I got myself a pair of Dynamic Yellows version. And tbh, I feel like it's the best of them all. Not a lot of people use these ones and they are not too boring like the black and whites or the camo colored ones. They are not too flashy like the other two colorful ones mentioned either! :)
So glad you said 720s, the 720-818 triple blacks in particular I feel are a very techwear looking shoe. The writing on the bubble and the embroidery on the top as well as the three-segment pattern i feel really add to the futuristic look. The crosshatch pattern plastic lip would also help with waterproofing as well has the lift from the bubble. The bubble creates great comfortability as well. it also validates my weird desire to purchase these franken-shoes...
I realise I’m late to this party, but I’m really down with DC E.Tribeka Winterised in battleship grey with lime accents. They aren’t the most “out there” futuristic, techware looking shoe, but they are made with goretex, are super comfy, warm, practical and strong enough to wear daily without murdering your bank account.
I'm surprised you didn't have the Nike React Runner Mid WR ISPA and even the lows here. Seems like a really good alternative shoe that is water resistant and have the react foam for cushion.
What you think about Adidas 4D run? Triple black version look wery sweet, also i have alphabounce beyond 2M with rubber top, and it actually wery useful. Rain, dust, dirt you can clean all that with wet wipes
I just picked up the 11 bbs x soloman collab and damn they are fire, super comfy too and surprisingly wearable, my non techwear friends really liked them
One that I really like that I feel a lot of people are sleeping on is the Puma Erupt when you're going for that more athletic-tech look. They are a little normie but they have an interesting shape that works well with some outfits, and they are dirt cheap at most outlets. In the same vein, the Puma RS-X Mids work well with the more streetwear-tech looks and is also cheap AF because everyone sleeps on the Pumas
What do you think about the nike hurache utility? Minimal branding nice sihluette shape underrated tech preferably the black sihluette and price is fairly reasonable
I've got the huaraches and they're so uncomfortable cause the sole on the right side has that big chunk of plastic sticking into your foot. Maybe a size up could have helped. I still wear them, just occassionally
debated picking up the gripps a few months back, but they never offered them with the nike shield version (waterproofing) except for in the childrens version. not sure why.. saved my money up and ended up getting some saloman bbs gen 3's
How would New Balance rate on this list? I find them super comfortable and have some really jazzy colour schemes. The only draw back is I'm not a huge logo fan and they could potentially push the boat out more and give us a dyscopian trainer. Or have they?
thoughts on the air edge 270s? They got a really futuristic vibe w/ a somewhat techy aesthetic. Retail being 160 which is pretty reasonable. The colorways are really subtle and neutral. They are under retail on stockx rn.
Lucky you, could wear a kimono with your futuristic outfit, and no one will stare at you and point the finger at you) I'm not Antwon, but I'd like to give my two cents, if you don't mind. Riot Division 2 Pockets Pants are great for summer, you can find a review on it on this channel. On feet you could pick primeknit Adidas sneakers (NMD or another futuristic model) or good old sandals with socks.
I want some insta pumps bad. Did get some nike air max 90 utility’s last week. Always thought they would be well in with the tech crowd, with there little zip up jacket. There is a new model coming out soon some collab orsumshit that look good but love the old version. But if anyone reads this make sure you go a size up they are real hard to get on
The Huarache City is called 'unisex' but be careful when you buy, you have to use the woman's size to determine which shoe to pick if you're a guy... 10 mens in the City is actually 10.5 mens but the shoe box says 10... I would size a half down and make sure you realize that the stores (online or brick) have them all organized by the woman's size. Also there are now a lot of diff color ways for the Nike Vapormax Utility, I just picked up a pair with bright orange on the heel 'bubble' and orange ties... awaiting the arrival now.
Acronym Prestos are $13 on weidian, got all 3 myself, racer pinks are my fav but the grey one is missing the freakin snap button on the back of the shoe! Kinda sucks!
Got into the techwear hype a bit late, and being 16 and not having a job, everything looks very pricey (although this summer i should be able invest in some pieces), and so I was wondering if you could do a video similiar to this one but for the Nikelab ACG Alpine jacket? Seeing as it is perhaps one of the most iconic techwear pieces (and looks fucking sick), and also impossible to get. The only one i found online was a size M - too big for me - going for 900 quid :(
Several years ago at the beginning of my dive into techwear, I first took noticed of Huaraches. Saw some appeal initially, but that rapidly wore off once I realized they were being worn by every fuckboi in town. Never saw those GRIPPS before this channel - a Huarache version that's like, 100Xs cooler than the basic ones! So OF COURSE they would be much harder to get! Thankfully, found a seller on eBay with a brand new b&w pair for just under $120, and I love 'em! Thank you for letting me know that GRIPPS exist!
There is also the Nike ISPA shoes that are quite good looking, not very expensive and waterproof. I'm rocking the Nike React WR ISPA Black Metallic Silver.
