Clearance sales are definitely the place to find solid GoPro mount deals! REI often has some sweet deals tucked away too in the US in the clearance bins at certain times of the year.

Just got my first GoPro and picked up the knock off Shorty mount by Ulanzi and so far its been a decent little mount for $20. Glad there is good quality non-GoPro branded accessories out there. Wish that bag was still available.

I have a full charge go pro(new 2018). didn't use it for 3 days and i somehow found the battery drained knowing I didn't used it. is this normal? this is the 3rd time this has happened

Question: for the GoPro Quik adapter (lightning version) do you see weird artifacts in the videos after transferring directly to iPhone? I tried one and saw them, but when transferring to PC, no issues in the same files.

Hi there. I enjoy your videos and recommendations and have brought some after watching this video. I have a question on the powerextra battery pack? So I brought a set and charged it fully. But when I put it in to the Go pro it goes from 100% to 69% instantly. I thought it might be one but both batteries seem to do the same. I know you don't work for the company but I was wondering if you've come across this before? Would it be because I am running the new firmware 2.60 on my hero 5?

I bought my 1st GoPro (Hero 6) last month. I was really surprised how fast the battery goes (4k 30fps = 1hr ish) . So def need extra batteries. I bought the float grip thinking i could double it as a grip, and while it does work, I’d like something more compact. I liked the shorty size but didn’t like the smooth plastic. So took that back. I want something wearable but the chesty looks like overkill with all the straps . So I’m looking for a minimal chest strap 🤔

Ray, Do you have any tips for getting the Quik Adapter to load videos to the phone's external sd card (android specifically)? I have limited space on my internal storage, but a ton of space on the external sd card, but I can't seem to figure out how to load to the external sd.

hey i saw the sd card links but theyre only for 1080p reso vids what sd card do you recommend for go pro 6 bec i wanna save 4k 60fps vids any 128gb-200-256gb sd cards that saves 4k reso that you recommend?

That mini tripod that comes with the 3 way actually doubles as the shorty tripod. You just have to pull off the adapter part that is used to attach it to the 3 way arm. Hence why it snapped off the 3 way when you pulled on it :)

Hoping you can help! I have the GoPro handlebar mount for my Hero 5 and try to shoot POV video for which I eventually want to load to Rouvy or similar apps. Since my bike has a very rigid frame, whenever I hit imperfections in the road I get a wavy sort of blippy jitter that ruins a second of video. In a section of road with a lot of cracking it really ruins the video. Any suggestions for a device that would dampen this a smidge?

Hi, I am brand new to GoPro and was so excited to purchase the micro SD reader for GoPro however they don’t sell it anymore. I only found it at Target for the price you mentioned. I also found forums with complaints that it doesn’t work for them. Would you still recommend it at this time? Have you tried the Apple SD reader?

Does it make a 'Squeky' sounds afterward? When you used like the 'GoPro 3 Ways' and 'GoPro Shorty'? I've used similar handles like this in the past and even when I filmed it it didn't feel anything, but after I play the videos it keeps having that lound Squeky' sounds.....which it ruined all videos audio.

Btw for the Go Pro quick adapter, you could just use a usb-c (what ever port your phone uses) to female usb and the put a SD card reader into that. Yes, it is a lot more bulky but It's about £5 (or $6.50) which is way cheaper that the Go Pro quick adapter that Go Pro sell.

Heads up, if you are overseas or away from next day delivery, ALWAYS bring two GoPro Quik Adapters! Mine died on the Camino Frances in Spain on about day 10 and I found a cheap micro-sd USB reader several days later, but it's not the same. Better safe than sorry!

Hi DC Rainmaker ! Very nice and inspirational video! I've heard that non-original batteries don't work after some gopro update -is that true? Batteries in gopro, are small and weak, it would be nice to have more of them, but not in this prices...

If you removed the tripod section on the folding stick, removed the cap at the top ( the bit you screw in) and there is a mini tripod in there too.

That Hero 5 firmware has been out since last October. Nobody has had issues that I'm aware of (at least with these batteries).

Yup! No issues on latest GoPro Hero6 firmware (HERO6 Black v02.01) with them, used them yesterday with that. The company (battery company) notes they can update the firmware on the batteries if GoPro breaks it, but I don't see an obvious way to do that on their site. But I haven't had to update them at all and I've used them since Day 1 with the Hero5 and Hero 6. I suspect there are some 3rd party batteries they did block, but these ones specifically are all good!

Yup, most. 1) 3-Way: Yes 2) Shorty: Yes 3) Backpack: Yes 4) SD Cards: Yes 5) Battery charger: No, though, my understanding is that they have a Garmin battery variant out there that I saw somewhere. 6) Adapter: No, though, you can use the stock Apple one to accomplish the same thing...albeit for more.

A DJI drone. Realistically there's no drone that can carry a GoPro that's worth buying these days. I'd look at something like the DJI Mavic Air as a good 4K starting point.

It'll actually do that no matter the card size. It's a individual file size limit that drives that.

Zero issues with the linked aftermarket batteries. I continue to use them in Hero7 as well. Work great.

I understand the largest card is 128 GB, but then why are you referncing 200 GB cards? What are they used for?

I use 200GB (256GB mostly these days) for situations where I'm going to create much larger files like selecting the hit bitrate option on the Hero 8/9 or while shooting in 5K.

Sorry Maker....Sandisk Ultra 128GB cards do not work in hero 7 Black.... I have tried 4 brand new cards, they seem to overheat almost immediately or after maybe 30 seconds of filming in 4K. Truly a bummer, will purchase either the Samsung EVO cards or the Sandisk Extreme from here on out.... if you have any other thoughts on the cards in question please let me know, 7 is awesome but a bit card touchy

I suggest going to the official gopro website and check their list of compatible SD cards. Made the same mistake and bought a "good" sd card that sadly didn't co-op with my gopro. Using a wrong sd card can lead to overheating and file corruption overtime.

Sorta. You have to use the GoPro 3.5mm mic adapter (no other adapter works), but once you do that your world is the oyster. It's just a lot of clunkyness to use.

I use it (shorty) constantly for running, mainly on runs where I know I want to take some photos but also know I'm unlikely to have good spots to stick a camera. For example, in a city you can usually find little ledges and such to plop a camera, but in the woods or along a beach it can be tougher to find spots that aren't just stuck in a bush. Alternatively, same goes if I know I want to do some sort of talking to the camera while running, because that helps ensure my hands aren't rubbing against the mic.

It's listed in the description for this video - click "Show More". Having said that, the Powerextra batteries are getting some mixed reviews online, I think I will play it a bit safer and get the third-party Wasabi batteries and charger. Seems a lot more satisfied customers with that.

Hard to say. My guess is that GoPro went to Amazon and basically said 'Yo, these folks are violating XYZ trademarks/patents/fight club rules, and we want you to pull it or else'. Not sure. :( At this point the $499 price is basically some random 3rd party seller that's put it there. I can't find DeKasi at all anymore on Amazon. My other guess is that the backpack is probably somewhere on Amazon under some different name and brand. The trick is finding it.
