And this is why i love Eirika on Framme. Mag boosts Arts dmg, Arts are easy to quad with, quadding with Lunar Brace and Bavery does excellent dmg, and as noted quadding quickly refills Engage meter so you can easily have the benefits of both most of the time. I also started a new run where i'm thinking about putting Gentility on Warrior Ike!Boucheron. I had Def+ on him before but Gentility also works against magic so that's already better, but then Bravery could also boost his dmg on Great Aether. I think he'll end up being a super bruiser.
Something else to consider is Eirika's equip bonus is +3 mag at bond 14. So for tome users using Ephraim that's +8 damage. Enemies need about 27 def for Lunar brace to meet/exceed that damage and I don't think most enemies have that much def until the late game. so you can totally justify using Ephraim as your main emblem on a tome user and inherit gentility on other units
On the flipside, you don't get to use Eirika until late meaning that by the time you get her, Ephraim will have only a handful of maps to be useful before Lunar Brace completely invalidates his existence because LB is mathematically superior to Bravery at a rather low def threshold.
@priestessii lunar brace requires that you initiate, but it's still in my opinion better than Bravery is. Although when you engage it doesn't matter since you gain the benefits of both
@adamdavey1261 the threshold where Lunar Brace matches the damage boost from Bravery is 15 def, and Lunar Brace+ matches Bravery+ at 17 def, both of which are a really low for when you aquire Eirika. Even taking into consideration that Lunar Brace only works on physical attacks, the only thing Ephraim has over Eirika is a little bit of healing, Eirika is tankier and will do more damage against the average late game enemy. There are surprisingly few scenarios where Ephraim is better than Eirika. I'm not even an Ephraim fan, and I don't really like how hard Ephraim got shafted in Engage
@@conorb.1901Sorry, I thought the comparison Or_ange was making was Ephraim as a damage fixing tool on Magic users to Eirika as a damage fixing tool on Physicial users, so I included the +3 Magic bonus from the ring as they did, which makes 30def the point at which Lunar Brace gives more damage. I agree with their point, Ephraim didn’t really get done all that dirty, he’s tied for the best magic damage fixing emblem in base game, a lot of people just don’t seem to use him that way.
Erika is very potent on bow user because of the armor ignore/bravery boost. I often build bow /knives users with lunar brace and they can effectively dish out the damage (which is often the problem since bow hardly double fliers while they have very high def/res). Maybe what you didn't realise is that the switch affect all units and not just the Erika user. It is so broken that by the time I clear the dark emblem, my Alcryst has already chipped away 1 HP bar of sombron (at max reduction)

Yeah, I happened to discover this while doing Soren’s paralogue as postgame content. Seeing my Louis with Tiki’s bracelet proc Bravery was a surprise. I would probably assume this works for people with Lunar Brace, making it Solar Brace. But Lunar Brace is mostly better. Really, I think it was all the enemies having this skill in Eirika’s paralogue was how it gave my inexperienced self hell, lol.

I legit was using this tech the other day. I was using Eirika on mixed attackers. Like griffin Chloe. If I need her to use a steel sword I would use eirika and if I need her to use a Kevin sword I changed over to my man Ephraim. I was doing the same thing with Fogado when switching between Radiant bow and Silver bow. Very strong skills on this emblem that I enjoy
Swapping to Epharim also gives you solar brace so on a tome user with The ring, you can pair it with Celica’s skill to increase damage by sacrificing your own HP and youll keep healing back the HP (I havent actually tried this but, i know you lose HP on cast and gain HP on hit with the two skills so they should proc one after another)
The issue with this is getting level 18 Erika in multiple units. I found the main issue ever since the well is not having enough bond fragments. I only do the well and animals and I’m always short on bond frags and can’t be asked to do fishing or other activities
@@IcedCoffeeGaming would you still recommend sword and axe power over gentility on melee units? The power ones cost less bond frags and you can get them a lot earlier but after doing a full run using the powers on everyone the -10 avoid kinda feels bad
I've been Shilling Eirika passives for the longest time. I like that inheriting her skills means you can get the fused versions (like Blue Skies and Eclipse Brace) even when you're not engaged
So, Veyle has dark vision maybe? Not sure if this is a bug. Can someone help me with this? I was in a skirmish in the shadowy moor (where the retreat chapter was), where its very dark and there are lots of hidden flyers. I added Veyle to replace one of my units, and suddenly, a very large part of the map was revealed around her. The same thing happens whenever i swap her location with another unit. This allowed me to figure out where lots of things are. So, is this a bug? Why did this happen? And why does this also happen to Jean (but with less reveal radius)? Additional info: veyle was with soren, and jean was with micaiah. Just in case the emblem has something to do with it. I also tried using Nel and her sibling, but it has no effect even though they are fell dragons like veyle. No, i did not google it cause that is less fun.
Jean would be able to use Shine with Micaiah, which would light up a 5 tile radius. It would also allow him to use Illume, which was called a Torch Staff in past FE games. With Veyle, I have no idea. Unless you reclassed her to a Thief, which has enhanced eyesight in Fog of War maps. But then, she would no longer be a fell dragon type, she would become a covert type. You seem to imply you kept her in her default class?
Time travel try Vidame Céline on Celica with Alacrity and Gentility wielding Nova. Resonance++ is +3 damage as well. Using Echo and Gentility’s other half for 5 damage, that’s +8 damage per hit. At 4 hits that’s 28 damage, with Echo that’s 52 damage. (Granted, this is assuming the damage reduction doesn’t affect the true damage of Resonance and Gentility)
But then a massive sadface when you realise she can’t wield Nova on Vidame because it’s S rank, and even if she could she’s have an AS in the early 20s so alacrity would do nothing :( Sage Pandreo with Speedtaker instead of Alacrity though…
@@VangolaGearIvy is tricky, she can wield the tome on Lindwurm and has decent build for it, but her speed is pretty low so you’ve probably got to dedicate both of her skill slots to speed fixing if you’re using a tome that weighs you down by 3-4, and are using Celica and not Lyn. Like I mentioned before Sage Pandreo is probably best for anything Nova related, he’s going to have somewhere in the ballpark of 6-7 more AS than Ivy at end game and the same magic stat, so you can probably get away with just Speedtaker and tonics for speed fixing, leaving a skill slot open for Gentility/Bravery and the emblem slot open for Celica. I think Echo multiplies your damage by 0.6 after all the other calculations, so the damage stacking doesn’t end up being quite so crazy as you mentioned, but it’s still quite good!
Everyone who has Lunar Brace or Gentility will then just get the engaged version. That's part of the reason why Eirika is so good, everyone you give her skills gains the engaged version without actually needing to be equipped with her
Gentility is best used on sword master or martial master according to what I have heard because it lets them do a crit build that does more than 1-3 damage a hit lol. Still doesn't help enough for Wa Dao against certain enemies because that weapon is just horrible in general, Wao Dao is so bad that i started dinking at a point when I used it on normal mode....let that sink in the easiest mode in the game and unless you min max strength wao dao is still the worst weapon ever even on normal.
Or just Draconic Hex and be even more efficient and save passive slots for everyone else. Lunar Brace is where all the damage comes from especially as a brave weapon or flashing fist build.
@@adamdavey1261 Draconic Hex goes on your supportive characters which makes your carries better. The supportive characters are not using a ton of resources and now with draconic hex makes the carries kill the hard to kill units. Plus the damage boost is sun mode, but moon mode is way better to be in for Eirika. And sure you get both modes while engaged on the Eirika character, but if you have to play around engaging to make your strategy work in the first place then your strategy was never very good in the first place because engage mechanic is here to make fire emblem easier for players because fire emblem is a very hard game series. My strategies and team compositions can win Maddening Engage without ever engaging once. I engage because I am lazy and rather brute force through the problem rather than properly figure things out and play things the correct way.

The game is called Fire Emblem Engage and has a bunch of mechanics in the game revolving around this. You might as well just do ringless if this is the case. Hex is great, I also appreciate you mirroring back the exact system I advocated for on my channel multiple times by running Hex units that contribute and hard carries. You can also have your Eirika unit engaged 70-80% of the time if you run this right, I will be doing a video on a team comp that uses this passive.
@@IcedCoffeeGaming No, because the rings have passives and stats that I am utilizing. If you going that extreme then we cannot use weapons or stat increase items either. I still engage, but infrequently and only as an emergency. Engaging is like Gigantimaxing in Pokemon Sword/Shield. Crystals is the worst gimmick ever for Pokemon (Scarlet/Violet), bring back mega evolutions... These are types of mechanics to make the game easier for players to help them actually beat them game, but can still be played baseline just fine with proper strategy. Dare you to do a no engage ever, no warp/rewarp/rescue, no fliers challenge run. Engage rings yes and DLC is fine, but have to be non-optimal for exp gathering to prevent over level.
@@MasterStaconaWeird flex but ok? With the Draconic hex thing I just wonder how useful it actually is in most situations. Like on any support that can use Thoron, you probably do enough chip damage to the enemy that your carries can then secure the kill without hex, if they couldn’t just do it on their own in the first place. Pretty decent on someone like Hortensia though, who typically will have lower chip damage. I guess the flip side is that it’s pretty low investment if you’re using the well, and the opportunity cost for the skill slot is low because there aren’t that many great inheritable support skills. Also I could see the argument for it being pretty good during the first few turns of a chapter for lowering doubling thresholds while your Speedtaker units get rolling. Even then though I can’t imagine you’d need more than a couple, and you get one for free on your Corrin user. Slapping it on a bunch of your supports just seems like overkill to me.
