Everything changes, including how companies want to view themselves. This may mean our favorite mascots get changed, whether we like it or not. No need to fear, though. It's still the same mascot, only with an extreme makeover. Let's take a look at some of the more notable product mascot redesigns from over the years, shall we?

I like the original Chuck E Cheese from the 1970s better. That version was a rat who cussed, smoked, drank, made risqué jokes (like Animaniacs and Rocko's Modern Life) and sold Atari arcade games like Pong and Gotcha

As a side note, Chuck is actually a rat! The working title for Pizza Time Theatre (which would later become Chuck E. Cheese's) was 'Rick Rat's Pizza' but parent company Atari was... less than pleased that a rat would be their restaurant mascot, thus his name was changed to something less obviously rat-like :)

Fun Fact: Mr. Peanut is officially the second mascot to have died in a commercial, after Jack Box, but he is the first to have been reborn into a baby form of themselves (and yes this was during the 2020 super bowl commercial)
