Thank you for walking the right way when edging lol. Battery has come a long way. They only thing I see with battery is the how long the battery last. I think in the next five years we will see many great changes to battery lines across this great country.

Battery-powered tools have come so far in the last few years. When they first came out, there was a huuuge difference vs. gas. Nowadays, hardly noticeable. Pros: Long life, no refilling, super quiet for the early/late mow jobs. Cons: Relatively slow to charge if you forget and run out of juice in the middle of a job. I like to keep a spare battery charged at all times to avoid this. Great review.

Awesome comment! Thanks! I agree with you! They have really come a long way. I’m curious to see how the toro all electric grand stand holds up for some of these commercial landscapers. It’s like a Prius haha! Mowers need a lot more power than hand tools.

I’m personally a fan of gas powered but I can see how many people would enjoy and find the battery products useful. Good video! 👍🏻

If I were still in the lawn business I would just carry 4 charged batteries to make sure you could work none stop all day. Its worth it not to mess with the fumes, mix, carbs, sound, etc.....

Got a battery powered recycler when we moved into our house 7 years ago. I got rid of it only for the fact that it would bog down cutting my zoysia out back. Really regretting getting rid of it now that I’ve smoked the zoysia and have PRG/KGB mix. I’ve had my eye on this 60V trimmer and the blower. Battery has come a long way!

We just bought the newer 60v Attachment Capable Power Head with the string trimmer and hedge trimmer attachments. I absolutely love this system. The power head now comes with a battery guard and an attachment point for a shoulder sling to help accommodate the weight. Would definitely recommend Toro's electric line-up!

Well you helped me make a decision to buy it’s just more convenient for home use and it’s better to be battery powered for me since I don’t have a car to go back and forth to the gas station. I use to be in the lawn care business all we ever used was toro best in the business to use in my experience at least. I also worked for another company for lawn care but we didn’t use toro but with what they had they really messed yards up I don’t know how customers tolerated it.

Got a Toro electric trimmer similar to yours but without of two speed mine is all in the trigger But I can honestly say I will never go back to a Gas trimmer , even went out and bought the Toro Chainsaw , all well built

Thanks for the review. I have always been a fan of gas powered lawn equipment, but since I now have a small home with a small yard, I am leaning toward battery. I don't mind the gas powered walk behind mower, but I currently have a 4 stroke gas powered string trimmer and a corded blower (both work fine, but cumbersome). Literally... my trimming takes 10 minutes and my blowing tasks are short as well. I just hate replacing trusty tools that I have gotten use to and work perfectly, but I guess I could use them as backups. Thanks again for giving me some insight into this tool.

Yeah, battery string trimmers and blowers are super convenient! I really like using them. Gas has its use for longer/bugger jobs though.

I’m a fan of battery powered equipment. My property isn’t big enough to require super long run time on my equipment, plus you can always have a 2nd battery ready to go if needed. No need to winterize and has enough power to get the job done for me. Nice video!

I honestly have never used a battery powered lawn equipment before, however between watching some videos and podcasts, I have been looking into the battery powered equipment (blowers, weed wackers, etc) for the lawn next year! I’m excited to try out battery powered to see the difference

I’ve been a fan of electric trimmers. I’ve pretty much only used the Worx GT electric trimmer since building my house. The battery doesn’t last very long though so I’ve been looking at something else. Blowers and mowers I think I would rather use gas. My electric blower will only clean up the front yard before I have to change the battery which gets frustrating because my front yard isn’t very big. Great video!
@RootedLawnCo
@RootedLawnCo 2 года назад
Thanks for watching and commenting! I think the biggest kicker like you said was battery life. Having a spare is key. I have yet to try any e powered mowers. I have a gas backpack blower that I love, but would like a battery blower for small quick post most blow jobs to get the grass off the patio. The backpack blows the mulch everywhere lol.

@@RootedLawnCo The biggest issue I’ve seen with battery powered equipment is the replacement batteries are super expensive! Might as well a whole other tool to get a second battery and make sure they are compatible. Which is what I’ve done is the past. So now I have an extra trimmer that I don’t use. 🤷‍♂️

Why don't Toro make that battery a back pack and have a cord running from it to the trimmer to make the trimmer lighter and less straining to use? I've suggested this to Dewalt and have yet to see them come up with it. Is that battery pack as big as the one used on Toro Mowers? I have the mower so I know how heavy that battery pack would be. It's one reason why I'm still hessitant to buy these trimmers--because of the weight and range limitation.

Several questions: I see this same trimmer online and they have a 2ah and 2.5ah, how long does it take to charge he battery and how long do you think each battery would last until it dies

For around the home battery is the way to go. The blowers and string trimmers are game changers with plug and play. Toro or Greenworks are great.

You’d be surprised at how well battery powered handhelds are. I use a Milwaukee hedge trimmer instead of the gas model I used to have for several years. I got to the point of having to service it every year because I didn’t use it that much. That Milwaukee has made some money as well. I bought the Milwaukee handheld blower for small quick jobs when I don’t wanna use my Echo 770 BP blower. They work,…and do a nice job. You should check out Johny on the Blades of Grass channel. Half of his setup is battery-powered. And he makes a killing with it.

Battery: Increased weight for the operator to carry. 2 hour runtime? NOT. 2 speeds? NOT. String loading is funky. Bump feed is useless. Another poorly designed tool.
@LL-mt2nz
@LL-mt2nz 4 месяца назад
The battery size will dictate the weight. It could run 2 hours or more or less. Depending on the conditions. This has a variable throttle and it does have two speeds. Low and high depending on what your task is. The bump feed works reliably. I have this trimmer and it is works great.
