Nah it ain’t that, they test singers but the Mic’s and the sound for this performance was lacking but that’s not their fault. The engineers should’ve sorted all that out already
@@dimeclipent Yo my bad. I thought I was replying to another video that I was watching right before this one. It was Total when they was performing on Video Soul. But you’re absolutely right, it was the Apollo. 💪🏾
Didn't know Aliyaah and Fantasia were in total tho lol jk ......they didn't have great voices but that swag was always on 1,000!!!! Specially Pam she was the energy in the group ... Miss the 90's ...
Kima was always my favorite cause of her hair though but they never let her sing ad libs, even on the cd version of this song, its all of them singing the part Kima sung live.
I just seen Destiny child, Xcape, SWV live apollo stuff and i still take Total over all of them. Kima can sing her ass off but they was young and nervous but Total was hot 🔥
Madam Noire (10 artist that blew up...but shouldn't have) brought me here. and WOW...the article was right!...however, i still rock with total forever.
There was a version I used to spin on wax, where toward the end she'd do this long "ohhhhhhhh, oh yeah, baby what you're doing to me" anyone have that version?
I feel like they can sing! It’s just that they be breaking it down dancing @ the beginning on the song, they be outta breath by time their part comes to sing
I was commenting on the comments below and they were all disputing on what puff's position was! I think he's a brilliant man, there is nothing wrong with being a hypeman....Although that's not all he was! I understand he was their boss, but on stage, he sometimes was the person who livened up the stage before the artist came out, which is what a hypeman does! As I listed above,he is/was also a teacher, teaching them how to entertain and be interesting artist!
you mean the receipts from aretha franklin, lauryn hill, anita baker, gwen mccrae, etta james, bb king, staple singers, frankie beverly and maze chaka khan, jill scott, Dionne, tamia faith evans, carl Thomas, and etc. glad too :)
and Keisha. She can project her voice alot more than the other two. I mean shit if I would of been Puffy I would of cut out Keisha's parts, and replaced them with Kima's. That is just my opinion on the matter, sorry for the essay long response lol
They don't sound bad to me either. They sound like the record. Are they the best singers in the world, no. But they... sound.. like... the... record. LOL.
I remember when this episode aired when I was a kid I prob was 11. Me and my friend was laughing because they sounded so bad 😂😂, but now looking back at this clip they really don't sound bad at all shit they sound better than a lot of mf out now.
from what i've they all could've used alot of work singing live, so no apologies needed. thing with Kima though...watch her performances closely. alot of times i could SWEAR that they have her lipsync her parts. that might be why she sounds so close to recordings, but maybe you've seen performances i haven't
Anytime you have a live recording vs a studio recording, you are going to have differences, be it minor or major. My point is that because they don't sound all that great on the studio recording, this live show is not very much off from the studio recording. Everything you mentioned would definitely be a factor for someone who sounds great on the studio recording, i.e. Kelly Rowland, but whenever she sings live, she sounds horrible. So no diss taken, just my opinion.
@Machelle3200 yeah yo hey came to Baltimore back in 97' and all over the radio stations the dj's and callers were saying how much of a hot mess they sounded in person and how they got booed off the stage down at The Baltimore Convention Center. But still think Keisha is as fine as all outdoors though.
