Thank you for sharing, Dr. Ragsdell. We went over Deming's 14 points recently in my Healthcare Administration course and I enjoyed watching your lecture expanding on the Deming Way.

Thank you for a very nice and informative presentation, Dr Kenneth. Your explanation is easy to understand and you provide many good examples. God bless.

@ITGTheGroup We're glad you agree. Dr. Ragsdell's classes are some of the most cross-educational (made up a word) that we produce. No matter what you're background, you can get a lot of good from his wealth of knowledge and experience. He has some great stories from the field, and we've even found ourselves quoting and referencing his courses during our own departmental staff meetings. We truly appreciate getting to sit in on his classes while we produce them.

Great presentation, all management should be introduced to Dr. Deming principles.

@TheDillard34 We're glad you found the content enlightening. Dr. Ragsdell's courses are some of our favorites. Perhaps we can get one or more of his courses posted soon. Fingers crossed. :)

I took Deming's TQM courses in Houston in the 90's..while I found it a bit on the deep side, there were a few things that I grabbed ahold of & still use. I watched some of my colleagues immerse themselves totally in the theories, and watched them burn themselves to the ground in too much data, too much process & procedure, and they lost common sense & flexibility, taking the human element out of the equation, in most cases. Use with caution!

It's frustrating to listen to people who smack their mouths before almost every point. I can't imagine why any public speaker would not be aware of this habit and break it before recording a video.

Glad to know that anything besides a mechanical engineering degree isn't going to mean anything according to this guy. Hopefully I can at least get some minimum wage job with my crappy accounting degree.

This presentation has a mistake. Dr. Deming, and Shewhart for that matter, never said PDCA- Plan, Do, Check, Act. The correct Shewhart cycle for Learning and Improvement is PDSA. Plan, Do, Study, Act. The difference might look small, but it is different by an order of magnitude. Refer to his book: The New Economics, 2nd Edition, page 132, To locate the correct steps.

@therash09 when you get into the business world you will, sooner or later, find out why you had to learn TQM. I too resisted learning TQM while a member of the US Marine Corps, but I kept an open mind, learned about it, eventually implemented these concepts and immediately saw the fruits of those labors, As a civilian now, managing an 6 million dollar operation, I still rely on the "Deming Way". Good luck to you in your future!

Do you know the difference between an engineer and a Carpenter/Joiner. Engineers work to with thousands of an inch!!!! Carpenters get it right. There are only two people throughout history that have saved the planet, Noah and Jesus!! both Carpenters !!! not engineers :)
