Tower Knight and Penetrator Old to New Battle Theme - Demon Souls 

I wish they would allow us to choose the original soundtrack in the remake. Those visuals with that weird as hell music would be quite the experience

So what I have gathered: Original players: hate the new music New Players: enjoys the new music

It would be great to get a patch with the option to switch to the old themes. Both soundtracks are good in the sense that the old ones are more unique and memorable, while the new ones are wonderfully oppressive and bombastic.

People nowadays always have to either love or hate one thing over the other. I personally like each version of the themes as IMO. It's like, you have to hate the new and love the old or hate the old and love the new. It sucks that people can't just enjoy things. I like both and even you don't like one, then don't hate on people that like the other.

The new one keeps the rhythm of "Dun, dun dun dun, dun!" but change the rest to give them a unique sound. The Tower Knight's is more bombastic to reflect his size. The Penetrator's is a mix of dread and heroic, that reflects the knight as he was and the monster he is now.

Gotta give it to the og themes, although the new ones are certainly well made, they just dont feel distinct, I feel like I've heard songs like this from countless other properties before.

Original theme: Very classic to the hardcore fans as choir saying "HA HA HAHAHA!" is very fitting given the lore of Demon's Souls. In a way, it reflects the fat officials laughing at your efforts and would enjoying seeing you being squashed by the Tower Knight. But then comes in Penetrator stabs the Fat Official like a Kobob and is ready to show how it's done in Boleteria. Tower Knight's new theme: I love how dramatic it is and how it gives The Tower Knight such overwhelming presences compare to the player. Literally making you feel you're fighting against a giant that can't be beaten from his size. And orchestra and choir help it by building the tension. Penetrator's new theme: Again I just love how dramatic it feels and I feel like if walked in through the fog wall that would have been a perfect opportunity for his theme to kick in. And it honestly fits well with his lore as well from an honorable knight that he once was now fallen from grace and now he's a monster on the hunt for new souls. Overall I really like all three of them. Original will always be a classic for the OG fans but I really like how bluepoint made their own boss theme very distinct from one another yet they also kept most of the core rhythm from the original. I know a lot of people don't like the remake versions of the soundtrack because it doesn't feel the same as the original which I respect their opinion about it.

Is it bad I prefer tower knight's remake theme? Both are great, but the new theme just feels like I'm about to enter a huge battle and I'm one hit away from an instant death. My favorite part is 5:00 - 6:00.

1:33 It clearly is noting a presence that is demonic, the dissonance created by the choir gives a chaotic atmosphere that exudes uncertainty and eeireness in a more folkloric way. Is still conveying a grand fight, but in a more sorrowful way. 7:35 It sounds like if blood was flowing in the air. The choir adds another otherwordly dimension, as if the entity faced was deatg itself, the disturbing nature lf the chords that build up tension, that could also be interpreted as the soul of the demon dancing a sort of "Dance macabre" with the player with yet again the eeire supernatural feeling. I think this example can pretty much sum up the messages both versions convey. I don't think any of the two are intrinsically superior, both just convey different things. Even Tower Knight's theme is altered this way: The initial choir in the Original soudtrack sounds eerie but misterious, as if the force behind the demon was of an uncertain nature, and there is an atmosphere of unease surrounding it. The very staccato voices could also hint about the clumsy yet earth shattering steps the Tower Knight makes, giving it a narrative dimension. On the other hand the remake version focused more on the scale of the demon: the arrangement is heavily accentuated and it gives the impression what the player faces is a mountain of steel. At the end of the day everyone has a different opinion, but I believe both convey their message through, and both serve their respective version of the game nicely.

New ones sound like Bloodborne and God of War (before 4).

Holy shit this makes me love the remake even more! Absolutely loved this game and god damn is the music impactful

Why did they need make the Fat Official so gross looking, like there's so much other grotesque looking enemies why they make him? But in saying that they did perfect for Tower Knight and Penetrator

I feel like the new tower knight theme was trying to be more like Dark Souls when Demon's Souls is not Dark Souls.

Penetrator new theme is a must since originally he shared theme with tower knight seem very weird while TK old theme feel like you enter in a battle against bunch of archers aiming at you and massive enemy in front of you. the laugh choir is more fitting due to "only the stupid one would go in against all odd" while the new Theme is more fitting as 1v1 in "David vs Goliath" feel

I really warmed up to Remake's soundtrack as time came by... But the thing that buggs me is that it's a "Dark Fantasy Epic Battle Music" and no longer *the* Demon's Souls soundtrack. Remake's soundtrack can be implemented into any dark fantasy ARPG and wouldn't feel out of place, but Demon's Souls soundtrack was it's own... Guess you really can't replicate uniqueness

I genuinly think the new demon souls ost’s sound great and like a lot of them more then the original ones. The old tower knights theme has a memorable type of laughing chant all be it repetitive but, the new tower knight theme gives him a more powerful immense feeling like you are going up against a towering giant.

I wish the game gave you the option to use the old soundtrack

Lots of people will hate me but I like the two new themes over the old one. The old tower knight theme was basically like "let's make the theme repeat the same tune for almost the entire song." It was repetive. The two new ones are imposing

The new one sounds good, but the thing about demons and dark souls games is the atmosphere the music creates. The original created a much better atmosphere while in the boss fight, and is a *better boss music for that fight.* the new one certainly would be better to listen to for enjoyment, but it can never match the feeling the old one creates during the fight.

What "accommodating to a modern audience" does to a great classic.

In the description, this is exactly why I prefer the old soundtrack, it was unique, no way near the same as others Souls games, now with the choir and all that, it's too similar to Bloodborne or Dark Souls III

They should've let us choose between the new and the original soundtrack, but it's ok I guess, sounds like a new game.

Some are better in the remake like the beginning, flamelurker, and the one who craves soul... Some are better in the original like tower knight, maiden astraea, and Demon's souls(main theme) Some are good in both but has a different vibes, like the Old king Allant theme. The OG old king allant sounds terrifying and intimidating while the new one sounds more climactic and emotional. But some are shits in both such as the maneater and old monk

The original sound quite silly considering what you're up against.

I love both, but prefer the new ost over the old ones. I just don't get the hate here. It's more dramatic, the old music was just great, but repetitive also

I think the original soundtrack was better than the new one. The soundtrack in the original Demon Souls series had a way more intense to it for each boss especially for the flame lurker his was epic

Not saying the new osts are bad, but the original one is better.

If you like the original it's OK if you like the remake it's OK but if hate the remake remember it's a remake and I like both themes.

A lot of people want to be negative at the new remake ost.. But the remake did quite remarkable. I guess a lot of people like the taste of icecream flavored pizza and acid too :/
