Townsville to become new home of Australian Army in major shakeup 

Townsville is set to become the new unofficial home of the Australian Army.
Defence Minister Richard Marles is unveiling a major shakeup after the Defence Strategic Review.
The report found troops weren’t positioned well enough to tackle future strategic challenges.
The overhaul will see soldiers permanently relocated from south of the country to the north.
Adelaide will see 800 troops deployed over coming years where they will be split between Townsville, Brisbane and Darwin.
