My wife left feminism behind when they started promoting aborting male babies. She thought it was only an extremist viewpoint until one of her huge feminist facebook groups gave widespread support for it.
My niece called me once to come and change the tire on her friends car. I was busy but dropped what I was doing to go help. As I was changing the tire the two of them were standing behind me complaining about their love lives and let loose the utterance “men are useless”. On that note I pulled my jack, gathered my tools and got back in my truck. They had the audacity to look confused. Edit: to answer a lot of people’s question- no they were not on the side of the road. They were in a church parking lot, and my niece had her car there. They weren’t stranded at all, but it was mid summer and hot as hell on a freshly paved lot, and I was already pretty beat when she called me. I was always the one everyone in the family called for everything and usually happy to do whatever was needed, but that day it just hit me wrong as they were just standing there offering no help at all. It was a lesson sorely needed.

I get this, but then also find myself falling into that trap when speaking of the exact women that this girl is talking about. I mean, when you're an unattractive male with a speech flaw, that most (maybe all?) women don't even look at as human in the realm of dating; it can be real difficult to not tag all women with the trait of being heartless slags that only want men for their bodies/wallets. I strongly want to believe that's not the case, but I just haven't seen any evidence to the contrary in my lifetime. Or if there has been any, it's one in a million scenarios (like winning the lottery), and things are only getting so much worse with the internet and social media.

@@jackiereber5056 it could but the numbers are pretty bleak for men. 97 percent of alimony is paid by men even though about 40% of households have women being the breadwinner and divorces are initiated about 60% by women. Those numbers don’t happen by accident, it takes intent for that to happen.

Finally, somebody said it. For a minute these women had me out here thinking that all men were crazy or something it was honestly depressing because I do want to be married one day. As someone who has never been in a relationship, only ever befriended women, has a father who's at work 90% of the time, and no brothers I honestly don't know men at all, so it was easy for me to fall for what some people on RU-vid were saying. I had to stop and think and realized that there are just as much good men as there are good women my mind is now at ease and I can finally move on from this.

In the end we are all innocent because we don't know what we're doing. Unfortunately I know how hard it is to see toxic behaviours in others and also view those people as innocent. But it helps to know we are mirrors of eachother. Only the manifestations are different but the underlying reasons and motives are the same, and often it's an attempt to avoid loneliness ironically. And since I make innocent mistakes that shouldn't warrant attack, the same naturally is true for others. The pendulum will swing of course as it always does. What she is saying is old news, so I suspect the pendulum swing is moving faster now. In five years we will be talking about something different and "new".
