A little context: the male singer (Shiren) is actually the band founder with vocal (Fuki). He is the lead guitarist and main composer. Due to his medical condition on his arm/wrist, he has to rest often and sings. Many of his lead parts are now played by Jill (violin) or the other guitarist, Jinya. This is a super band (they started as a project band). Every single member is a stellar musician, including Fuki who is the best female metal singer from Japan bar none. The bassist only played Jazz before joining this band. Their music started as an offshoot on the video game genre called Tohou project. Yes, the band started as a cover band for a fantasy video game genre. Yes, they are nerds. They are the best metal band from Japan. They often incorporate a lot of neo-classic touches and classical music colors as you can see from the bridge section here with all the classical scales played by Jinya and Jill. (You will thank me when you watch that video)

The song is about someone that had past over, and has re-awoken as a vampire, Fuki is singing from the humanity side still trying to hold on and Shiren (growls) is the vampire side trying to get the person to feed for the 1st time. The song is from an EP which was released in 2015, but they had never done a video for it, but as it was popular they released this live recording. Unlucky Morpheus (UM) were started in 2008, as a side project, by the 2 you see singing in this video, Shiren and Fuki. They were in another band that was also a side project that did covers of video game songs, after the band stopped Fuki told Shiren that she had enjoyed working with him and wanted to do it again, so UM was started.It was just the 2 of them for a number of years. They did Touhou (a video game series in Japan) arrangement albums. After a few years the fans wanted to see them live, so they asked some friends to help them play live. In 2013 they added another member, who is also a singer who Shiren also had a side project with, then they slowly added other members, with Jill violin being the last in 2016, at this point it was still a side project, as all the members were in other bands, 1 or 2 still are. It asn't untill about 2017/18 that they started to make it more full time, as they started to release that they had become popular, not only in Japan, but around the world. So it's not suprising that you had never heard of them. They did there 1st tour of Japan in 2017 and played out side Japan for the 1st time in Oct 2019 in London, were I saw them. Shiren (growls) is normaly the lead guitarist, but he has tenosynovitis of the arm, so has to rest it, now and again, so Jill takes over his part playing violin, like in this video, they also do it in another song, Black Pentagram. Fuki is just a workaholic, in 15 years she has been involved in over 90 releases, mostly full albums. Appart from being in UM she is also in Doll$boxx, a side project between her and Gacharic Spin (pop rock), she also has her own solo act, plus many other things she is part of inc guest appearences. She is also a designer and occasionaly does modeling work. She is also untrained as a singer, it's all natural talnet, as Fuki said, she sang like it at school, it's something she pick up from her mother, who sings the same way. The reason for the short break at the end, is that they are setting up the keyboards for Fumiya, drummer, as they are about to do an accustic song without drums. At the time they were 55 min's in to a 2+ hour show. UM just don't do heavy they can do smooth/jazz. For smooth try "Hyakki Hikou (Acoustic LIVE)". If you want what maybe the best bass intro to a song try "Dead Leafes Rising" Some other Japanese bands for you. Unlucky Morpheus is so underrated for some reason, i guess they might be a bit overwhelming for some people. But they are top class musicians, all of them.

Every member in unlucky morpheus comes from a different band. The lead singer Fuki is a legendary singer. She has many side projects and is also a solo singer. Also the male singer is a great guitarist too👍

At the end they just run through a bit of MC because the next song is acoustic...giving the rest of the band time to set up for that....I think the song was Violet....amazing if you can find it... The Screamer is lead guitar (yes, that was the 2nd guitar on that solo...lol He's lead in another band...of course he is!), but is battling some neurological injury, so they expand Jill's role on the violin to help fill in the gap... I think he's back playing now, but has to use a custom stand for his guitar... Not sure why your reaction is popping up in my feed a yar after the fact...better late than never...lol Hopefully you ent on to hear Jill and the band covering Malmsteen and Eddie Van Halen...lol

Devil went to Georgia was when I was in the 5th, 6th grade that I listened to but it didn't popped out but Sultans of Swing did popped out tho. Does anyone heard of Psycho Chicken BTW?
