Story 1: OP isn't a jerk and not at fault for any of this, but i definitely wouldn't have let this go on for as long as it did. I would've put a stop to this almost right away, not several months. Also, if you move to Germany, wouldn't you think you'd be able to speak some German, let alone fluent German? The in-laws here just suck and too bad the OP and Peter can't limit or cut contact with them. If they want to blame the OP for all of this, then it shows how awful they really are. Story 2: OP is not a jerk at all here. The OP already did move the wedding date and doing a lot to accomodate Ellie for many things, so why is Ellie getting so bent out of shape over this? This isnt about her. Ellie is either being a major drama queen here, or has extremely pregnancy hormones. Story 3: OP is not a jerk at all... the cousin is, and his parents definitely are. They are clearly raising a demon and just don't care. I'm surprised that anyone in the family is putting up with this brat and his parents. OP wasnt out of line at all with her comment back either... i'm surprised no one else has done or said something like that. I think the OP and the rest of the family need to limit contact with this kid and his parents. They all suck. Story 4: OP didnt nearly hit that old bag at all.... and if she screamed at me, i would've parked the car and then revved up the engine a time or two. Also, if i were the OP, i wouldnt have backed down here. Its good she called the police, but i wouldn't have let it get this far. I would've fought back and told her off. I hate people like that in public. People just want to cause drama and issues. I definitely agree that a dashcam would've been handy here... hopefully the OP gets one after this incident. Story 5: OP is not a jerk here.. the neighbour is. This is also a good reason why you shouldn't make "surprises" like this, because life always has some kind of way of messing them up. The neighbour knew that you had this surprise trip planned, and still went ahead and asked the gf to babysit the cats, knowing full well that she would watch them. I would've shouted at these neighbours too... it was 100% justified here. No way was this an over-reaction.
Honestly, I’m on her side. That kid had it coming and was never going to learn. Still probably won’t. Yes, it was very insensitive to say that to him but what he was saying to her was also insensitive and he had been doing it repeatedly for long enough to justify the petty, insensitive response. I know I’m a bit controversial, especially with my pettiness, but sometimes you have to fight fire with fire. Especially if you’ve tried your other options and fighting back is the most humane of your not so moral options
Imagine being these a holes that were talking crap in German telling their side of this story to their friends and people actually taking their side. That would be wild
story 3 am going to called wrong but i dont are op is the jerk that is to far is not the kids fault he is like this is the parents they need to raise the kid better he's 9 i get if he was older but give him a break he's still a kid so no op is the jerk i dont care what others think the narrator is dumb
The kid is a jerk too. I blame a lot on the parents too for not doing anything about the bad behvaiour, but the kid knows full well that what he is doing is wrong and just does it anyways. If he didn't know any better or was never asked/told to stop, then i would cut him some slack, but this stuff seems to happen all the time. 9 is more then old enough to know the difference between right and wrong.
Yeah as an adult you can think of other ways to handle this then going so low. I've seen adults do things like get all the kids ice creams except for that bad kid and let him know why, etc. Since it's family then they probably have plenty of opportunities
No. The kid is nine. That is old enough to differentiate between right and wrong. He had been told to stop spreading lies about the OP being pregnant and yet wouldn’t stop. Reality will hit that kid hard, especially as an adult. OP did the brat a favor in letting him know the world doesn’t revolve around him. The kid needed discipline. It’s not as if OP had utilized physical force.
Story 3: Not the jerk. The little brat and his two dads are, as well as that pinhead of a bartender. OP told the truth, and the little monster couldn’t handle it. Don’t dish what you can’t take. Nine years old is old enough to know right from wrong. The kid needs to learn early and often that the world won’t tolerate his entitled, bratty, antisocial behavior.
That kid who kept spreading that pregnancy rumor, that is just karma. She straight up gave him AND his dumbass dads chances and yet they just shrugged it off so the kid ended up fucking around too much and he found out
Last story: In a way. Let me explain: I do agree that them taking advantage of your gf is a dickhead move, but the oart where its "kinda" is the conversation that followed. I feel lost ke a little more context about what was said and stuff luke that would probably sway my opinion, but just saying "and i ended up yelling at them" makes you kinda look like a dick in my opinion.
Last story- OP is NTAH - the neighbors are! You told them about the weekend and they still asked you GF to care for their cats ! If it’s a weekend - cats are incredible self sufficient animals! Get a feeder that has a timer on it and plenty of water, maybe an extra liter box. I know cat people are going to go crazy on me but it’s true. They can get a pet sitter !! Not your fault !! GF is now a little suspect…..once she knew the whole story!
First story, OP ironically I dated a girl her parents weren't fond of me and when they found out that I could speak the language they really hated me. It's not your fault. It just means they need to grow up and stop trying to Gaslight you.
Story 3: ESH ...... Wtf are this kids parents doing?? You can see psychopathic behavior early on like as soon as age 3.... So the parents know how this kid is and are ignoring it
Story 1: OP isn't a jerk, but I wouldn't have allowed this go on as long as it did. I would've stopped this immediately, not months later. Story 2: OP is NOT a jerk. Story 3: The cousin and dad are jerks, not OP. Story 4: OP barely hit that old bag, and if she screamed at me, I would have parked and cranked the engine. Story 5: The neighbor is a jerk, not OP.
Story 1: NTJ. Being fluent in any language is a gift, especially when you overhear your SO's family or anyone else talking shit about you, and it's absolutely good that she stood up for herself against her douchebag in-laws.
I want to say there is no justifying what day original poster said to the kid I get the parents aren’t doing anything but you know what what she said was 10 times worse and then to sit there and lie and go. I never said that that’s absolutely disgusting. So far the narrator is the say it might be a hot take note it might isn’t a mate. It is there’s no justifying that this is a child and a grown woman. What if someone said that to one of her kids? she will probably go full mama bear. And you know what does sit there and call the kids stupid and not say that the original poster and not make the original poster take a little responsibility mixed in there raider a crappy person in the city of being outgoing. Oh he’s stupid. No, he’s not the narrator acknowledges that the parents aren’t doing their job and I said it once and I’m already pissed that he’s like no you’re not a jerk no the tower kid it’s no wonder your parents didn’t want you over being called fat or Pregnant. That is so wrong and so inappropriate not only to do original poster of that story, but to the narrator.

OP in the story with the 9 year old is ABSOLUTELY a jerk. Narrator, your comments are not a “hot take,” they’re just plain wrong. The kid is 9. His parents are jerks, but if they just let him do whatever he wants, of course he acts like that.
The kid is a jerk too. I blame a lot on the parents too for not doing anything about the bad behvaiour, but the kid knows full well that what he is doing is wrong and just does it anyways. Well, since the parents are just ignoring the kid's behavior and getting defensive when someone complains about it, someone needs to tell the kid that there will be consequences. And OP told him politely, told his parents but apparently nothing came out of it so, OP had to do something. What OP did is still out of the line and could have handled it better. For a 9 yo that is a bit too harsh. But what that kid did is inexcusable.
@@Pecific_guy “Too harsh” would be giving the kid a bare bottom 🍑👋👋👋👋👋 OP handled it properly. Actions have consequences. The kid will become a problem for the state if someone doesn’t put him in his place.
