Very necessary take, I feel like most pros dont even dare to go to these levels of tomfoolery and trash talk and its kinda sad, everyone is pretending that they have never did any form of toxicity in their lives while shittalking is such an integral part of gaming. I do definitely agree that EG are overhated, they´re on of my fav teams thx to their controversy and personalities.

As a PRX fan ( I only watch PRX matches ).... EG deserve to talk as much smack as they want to. They are world champs. I do like humble people more, but Demon1 dont need to be humble, he's the best

I love when people have a fued or banter between eachother makes for better content imo. Also there was a situation in apex legends when a player got banned for t-bagging his own fucking teammate. Not even a enemy, pro scenes need harmelss banter to be allowed otherwise we go down the wrong path and eventually nothing will be allowed.

Some of it is definitely overblown but i personally think that if you want to trash talk and be toxic, you better be ready to be hated and to back it up. To their credit, EG did that, since they've only lost to PRX and Fnatic in internationals this year. Cases like NRG being arrogant and "guaranteeing" Bilibili would go home (a team which, mind you, won 2-0 against them) and Sentinels taunting Fnatic for losing to Loud is a bit much because you have no basis to back that shit up. I think what makes it worse in a way (though maybe not either) is that this is coming from specifically NA teams, a region infamous for big talk and not backing it up on the big stage. It makes the NA scene look petty and overconfident, some might say toxic (i dont necessarily agree). Plus, even if NA has a champion, theres no reason to be this arrogant. If anything Fnatic have earned the right to shittalk anyone and their mother and you dont see them do it at all. Loud are world champions and you dont see them shittalk.

i love how people like you always forget to add the most important part of the context behind everything. in commend's responses to other people under his orignal comment, it was made clear that he didnt like it coz it was EG (prev tournament #2 team) doing this against fucking FPX (bottom seeded team of champs #16). there was no reason for him to do this, and still. again, i myself like trash talk players, like stax is (him waving bye bye to c9 at lock in and calling bcj as "Who is that guy, i thought it was a fried chicken brand" after bcj called stax overrated). all along these there is a story and reason behind trash talk. ronaldo wont go to the fucking 18 year old newbie in the opposite team and call him trash. again, i dont mind trash talk, and i like mostly what demon1 does, its just that specifc case where he forced some sort of beef against the irrelevant team.

It's insane because in other e-sport communities (e.g. smash) the trash talk becomes part of the nature, the disrespect is part of the art that makes the gameplay so beautiful and entertaining. But here it's looked down upon as if they're attacking the human rather than the player. Crouching on somebody's body isn't going to scar them for life so why act like it?

I agree with some of the things you said but that Boostio clip was just borderline racist. And also I don't like how you compare trashtalking in ranked vs. trashtalking in pro scene. They are called "professionals" for a reason. You don't talk in professional environments the same way you talk in the streets, that's unprofessionalism.
