This version in my opinion is the BEST version of MP-36. It mixes the nostalgia that people like me have with the G1 toy and the nostalgia of how Megatron looked like in the cartoon. It is really the best of both worlds at least for me. I chose this over the regular MP-36 and I am so glad that I did. That chrome is outstanding in a lighted shelving unit!
Theres no point of making it all is just change the head of mp36 and the eyes and there but it would look cool and what I want is a mp galvatron and g2 megatron masterpiece
I've enjoyed this series from the beginning, but you're really hitting your stride with these past few. The gags and puns really make these so enjoyable!
I’ve always liked the toy version of Megatron. I’ve always wanted one, I managed to get one at a boot sale. But the seller didn’t mention that his arms were completely broken off. When I heard about this version of Megatron, I had to. I still like to get a G1 Megatron, but MP36 + fills that hole perfectly
I like the G1 cartoon-accurate character molds in the Masterpiece line, but with the G1 toy-accurate paint jobs. Facts: the G1 toys came first, not the G1 cartoon, not the '86 G1 movie, not the G1 video games and not the G1 comic books. The G1 TV shows and G1 movie need some G1 toy-accurate reboots (Remakes) and the characters need to be animated by using the G1 toy-accurate paint schemed Masterpiece G1 figures via stop-motion.
I think a Tank is just the perfect mode for Megatron, even if the Walther is iconic. It's a machine of war and violence, which is perfect for a maniacal Despot like Megs.
Love this figure. Need to get one for my collection. I have 2 of the normal version just because I love it so much. One to display in damaged form from the 86 movie and one to go alongside the season 1 Decepticons .
Wanted a g1 Megatron figure more than anything as a 5 or 6 year old in 1985.I never seen one in real life on any shelf back in those days,I was a little let down by the robot mode when I finally seen one years later (most g1 figures looked nothing like their animated versions) but the gun mode more than made up for that.All g1 transformers made the alt mode near perfect and the robot mode crappy but very nostalgic these days
I grew up with Diaclone and Microman, and "Megatron" was supposed to be a good guy! Hence, I like the face that resembles the old 80's toy. I can make "Megatron" a good heroic guy again!
Fantastic video, love the intro and throw backs to the The Man from Uncle - as a 40 something it was a great trip down memory lane. I was recently lucky enough to get the MP 36+, fantastic Transformer and as you said, a great homage to the 80s original (which, again I was lucky enough to own back in the day). Just out of interest how easy did you find to manipulate his gun barrel from the side to sitting vertical up along his back in robot mode? Thanks again for show casing this excellent version of blinged out Megatron in his tampographed glory. Great video.

And yes, getting his barrel to sit flush under his arm in robot mode is basically impossible, I think. It’s definitely not my preferred feature on this guy, which is why I hardly ever use it. I prefer it slung behind his back tbh.
That’s clearly untrue. There are plenty of realistic toy guns in existence. I mean… Tamir Rice is sadly proof of this fact. And also a strong argument as to why Hasbro might _choose_ not to release such a thing.
@@iancawley9777 There're a few KOs with sturdier paint and better voice clips. The Infinite Transformation one is regarded as the best and should be about £85. Check eBay.
Buy the THF version, it has a very nice paint finish, transform it in gun mode and, if you want, buy the original one in the next restock and display him in robot mode ;)

the swirls on the chest ruin it for me. He doesn't have swirls on his chest so why they took the liberty is beyond me. Also, having both chrome and grey is another bad design choice. The red segments look ok but only on the inside panels. Overall the original version of this mold is smarter with its color usage...this one feels unnecessarily over the top.
