Toyota Corolla Chevrolet Prizm Door Panel Removal 

Thanks for this video; I went to my local Pick'n'Pull and was able to remove the front passenger window and replace mine which was broken out on Christmas day. All the cars were power windows but they were rolled up all the way so I was able to remove the window with a 10mm wrench. Videos like yours empower me to do my own car repair! Thank you! :)

A 1998 Chevy Prizm was my first car. I bought a new Ford Fusion a couple of years back, but I kept my lil Prizm and gave it to my little brother. Great little car. Happy to say it never left me stranded nor my brother.

Fantastic. Now i get to try my hand at it. Those inside door handles like to break. So i will be trying to replace them today.

I have not worked on that year but i bet most things would be similar.

LOL last winter the little tabs that hold the panel to the door broke in the cod weather. I couldn't get out of my car! Finally just hammered my shoulder into the door and it opened... and off came the window crank handle too. Drilled it out and put a threaded rod in there. glued it together with red thread lock or lock tight. Good as new. Should break the other crank and show you

Thanks for the excellent tutorial :-) Ive been there quite a few times, oh if i could have got hold of the designer of those barbed studs i would have strangled him ha ha :-) Dont the right tools make life easyer lol :-)

Self tapping screws work great for replacing those broken clips :) Yes, those clips are always broken before we get in there. You were far more gentle then I am. Normally do car work for family and they always show up unannounced so out of spite I have to take my aggression out of the car. Door panels get ripped off by hand and those clips are so brittle... and most of the time they don't stick right even when they don't break Thank you for the laughs. Use your air ratchet on the screws ;)

Rich: Would panel removal for a '91 Prizm/Corolla be essentially the same task? Removal of the various parts of the panel (window handle, door handle, side mirror) appear basically the same except for the plastic push pin - the '91 doesn't seem to have those. I need to remove mine in order lube or replace the manual crank window regulator mechanism -- mine is so hard to crank that it breaks the window handle knob off every few months and I have to replace it. Thanks Rich....

Google "pull rod set" you should find them.
