Before you changed the battery 🔋, how many kilometers per liter the estima doing? After changing the battery did the performance increase? Did you change the battery just for performance or did you have any other problem?
I received the battery warning code. It is my understanding that age has a greater effect on these batteries than mileage but it was at 139,000kms (17 years old). What made it more likely to fail was its long journey from Japan in which it spent an extra month in Vancouver sitting after port employees lost the keys. It didn't move more than once in 4.5 months. 3 months from Japan, 1 month in Vancouver then 2.5 weeks on the train. The fuel efficiency improved a bit compared to the when we drove it for a couple months before the failure code.
I know how does it feel. I’ve changed my prius c battery cells twice and still got the code. And I am like okay I can ignore it, I won’t replace again 😅
The estima has 2 battery packs. If my memory serves me right, the 9.6v cells are common with the highlander/kluger/rx hybrid but the 14.4v cells on the top are not.
Yes. You can also search the highlander cells as "kluger" cells as those are the JDM/austrailian equivalent. The highlander cells don't have the right vent caps on the ends of the cells so you'll have to cut the tape and swap the existing ones off the estima cells if you use those. Not a big deal. 2 min per cell to do that. I did it in this video because the cell they sent me was a highlander cell

I'm from BC and also imported various JDM like yourself with a GRS184 previously an Alphard hybrids and currently an Estima AWD 2GR. If I ever decide to get an Estima hybrid again these videos will be utlra useful! but it sounds like you wouldn't go thru with these Ennocar chinese battery again if you had a choice? I might just stick with my 2GR one.
Their warranty was a little annoying to deal with for sure and I was at peak frustration when filming this for obvious reasons. It's been a year now trouble free with these new cells though so it could be worse I suppose.
Hello. is it possible for a faulty fuel pump to damage the hybrid battery? I have a Ford Mondeo Hybrid 2018, which stops while driving, the message stops safely. for 2 minutes it doesn't respond to any commands, it stays stuck on the contact then after 2 minutes it recovers. errors appear on the hybrid battery I will change the ev battery but I want to know if there is a connection between a faulty fuel pump and the hybrid battery. I don't know for sure if my fuel pump is defective, but I read about something like that on the forums is it possible that because of the fuel pump the car runs longer than it should in electric mode? while destroying the battery? Thanks
I feel like if there was a fuel pump issue, the gas engine wouldn't recieve adequate fuel pressure and run very lean. That would cause other error codes, either a fuel pressure code, a misfire code, or one related to o2 sensors if there isn't ! Fuel pressure sensor.

@SelCarz-AutoMarket that's awfully young for an ev battery to have issues. Typically its age that gets them more than mileage. Has the car spent long periods of time sitting? If I was in your position to be sure I would disassemble and check if it's a faulty cell or if all of them are weak.
@@gearheadsyndrome I bought the car 2 months ago and I think it sat for a long time before it was sold. I mention that the car is from Italy, where it is very hot, if that has any influence. when the car arrived at me, it had a dead 12v battery and was loaded with cables, probably with too much amperage something could be damaged? something else I discovered was that the fan vent was blocked by a piece of rubber, maybe it got too hot? the symptoms started worse since the heat came
@@gearheadsyndrome I haven't checked the battery yet because no one could help me do that. the advice of everyone who repairs hybrids was to buy another battery... that's what I did and tomorrow I want to change it
