It's funny! Back in the day we didn't have half of the technology that we have today and they built good cars. Today they can build the best quality cars and parts with a technology we have but yet everything seems to gone backwards. It absolutely makes no sense. Everybody's so infatuated with gas mileage when it comes to these trucks and truck people who've been truck people all their lives don't care about gas mileage. The people who do complain about that are not real car people anyways. Who cares. If you're concerned about gas mileage then buy a commuter car but don't put those restrictions on trucks they should not have to fall in the same category. Also if they removed half of the tech that's in cars nowadays which most of us really don't need anyways the cars would be more reliable. The only thing it needs to run on computer modules is the engine and transmission and that's it. For example heating and air conditioning a standard manual module will work just fine it doesn't need to be hooked up to the computer system. They're more reliable and they'll work for years as long as you own the car and don't abuse it. I have a 2011 Chevy Silverado and the blower in that truck is a lot better than my 2017 Silverado 2500 HD that runs with the computer module system in the car. Blower in that truck sucks compared to the 2011

Yup, westcoastronnie, you're dead on. This push for gas mileage is because of CAFE regulations on gas mileage. Less reliable cars are worse for the environment, though. I did modify it to suit me better like a true car guy, lol.

I suspect legacy is optimizing profits. They have jacked up prices while cutting manufacturing corners. They see the rapid move to EVs and they are making money while they can. The people making the decisions are grabbing what they can, while they can. They know that it's going to be very difficult for legacy ICEV companies to transition to EV companies and that many are likely to fail.

It was so loud due to road noise, vibration, and who knows what, that I was going to return it if I needed to keep it for more than a day. I informed the rental car agent about the noise and he said it's a common complaint because to cut manufacturing costs, Toyota has stopped putting sound deadening insulation in the Camry (at least the base model). WTF? The car was so loud, especially on rough pavement, that it was unbearable. Toyota's new philosophy seems to be "cut costs, screw the customer". Very disappointing.

On the plus side for Toyota, I have a 2010 Prius and last year they admitted a defect in the paint process and covered under warranty completely repainting my car. On the minus side, the process was a mess since we waited nine months to get the car in for the work, were told it would take 2 to 4 weeks and the dealer didn't have enough inventory to give us a loaner, it actually took eight weeks and when I went to pick the car up, they handed me the key fob and told me to go look for the car with it probably being out the door and to the right. Despite there being almost no new cars on the lot and tons of open spaces, I had to go halfway around the dealership to find the car parked in the back (good thing I was on a bicycle). We haven't bought anything other than Toyotas in the last 30 years and my next car will probably be a plug-in hybrid. I really am hoping I can find a good non-Toyota plug-in hybrid that meets my needs but right now the two best ones are still the Prius and Rav4 primes. Inventory of Prius Primes within 100 miles of my house (Chicagoland so lots of dealers) consists of one new car in transit and five used ones with the dealership asking for more than the original MSRP for a four year old car.

Lmao just don’t be an idiot and get first model year products of a new generation if you aren’t leasing. Doesn’t matter what brand, you’re actively deciding to be a beta tester for the platform. Almost every commodity engine platform goes through multiple iterations throughout their lifecycle. It’s unfortunate Toyota out of everyone is having issues, but being Toyota they’ll nail their TTV6 reliability issues in the next update within the next year or two.

Any car manufacturer can win right now by going back to metal parts and stop planned obsolescence, Toyota could literally seize the entire market by letting you build your own car with your own interior own features, and let you customize it from stock to production line to sales floor, I know 90% of people don't need half the crap they put in these cars, if anyone company does this they will seize the market for themselves and win Make it easier for people to buy let people get what they want with the features they want that way nothing gets wasted but asking a company / corporation to do the right thing is a joke😂😂😂

The problem is more likely due to people who preceded Farley. Ford, and other legacy companies, waited too long before taking EVs seriously. Now they are looking at eroding market share without having good, affordable EVs to replace their lost ICEV sales. The previous Ford CEO bragged that he had never ridden in an EV. Like a buggy maker who ignored the Model T.

I wish you luck. The biggest potential issue with the CX90 is once the warranty is up. The engine bay is so jammed full, even the smallest repair or maintenance jobs will require the entire engine to be removed and reinstalled, because you just can't get at anything. The labor costs would be eye popping. That's why I opted for a new Traverse instead or a CX90.

IMHO it seems serious. From my understanding there's two main bearings that are failing that could indicate a design flaw of the bearing size, clearance, or even the oil weight. It seems to me that 0w-20 is pretty thin for a motor that puts out as much torque/load as the Tundra's motor. Thin oil helps a little with MPGs and works well in lower output motors like the A25 that uses 0w-16, but it leaves little margin for error in higher output applications.
