I went through 2 of the old ones , the battery is a failure point and is super sensitive to undercharging and overcharging. Hopefully the new one is more robust.
Yes. But you need to take it apart, let it dry out and relubricate the driveline. The ball bearings are not sealed against the universal solvent (water) and will eventually seize when the water washes the lubricant out of them, they might rust too. You can always enhance the water resistance of the electronics by conformal coating or using Plastidip to seal them as well as the servos.
