Ive been wanting to get an MR2 to do a full build that more on my budget. Literally want APR kit and 2zz turbo were my goals. Your car just solidified that. This thing is clean
What a wild build! You should search for how to fix the soft top ears, they’re sticking out on yours and not allowing the soft top to sit down fully flush. It’s a strap or two that tugs those ears in so they don’t stick out like that anymore.
Nice looking spyder man. I'm a aw11 enthusiast and owner for the last 26 years, still own the one I first bought in april 1995. Picking up a spyder for a play with soon, want to see if they handle as wellas they say. Best of luck with your health man. Spent 3 months in a coma 99/00 with kidney failure, pneumonia and legioneres disease. They were going to turn the life support machne off twice. I made it out somehow, have had a kidney transplant for the last 19 1/2 years and still love my aw11's and racing them.
Looks like he did a good job on the car. A little too flashy for my taste but definitely put a lot of time in to this project and it shows. Well done sir, glad you are in better health now too.
That’s a beautiful little yota. Tip for you, and other modders, install your lights on a dry hot day. If that does not happen where you reside, hot glue some silica packets in the headlamps but away from the bulbs. Take them in a few months. Should absorb the moisture.
What's not to like about this beautiful built MR2......I have a 99 Porsche boxster and I like it a lot but I have also always wanted to build me a nice 3rd gen MR2 Spyder with a 1ZZ turbo setup.

Totally agree....Where he said he wanted it would not look as good as where it is now.....Being on the side of the license plate is the perfect location to me.

Dang dude! I hope you are doing well. I've got a 2001 Spyder that I'd like to have someone do a swap for me because I'm not qualified. I just don't know what kind of money I'd be looking at and would it actually be worth it.

Thanks, I am sure that one day I will want more, may do rods and go to 350hp but it smokes moat cars I have lined it up with so far and can get a little scary as is.
Nice, did you lower the compression or sleeve it? Also what psi of boost your running? 93 octane or E85? Also any quarter mile or 0-60 times yet? I'm thinking of getting the same body kit and going all back, do you think 16x8.5" with meaty tires would sit near flush? (I know that question is hard to answer, who knows till you try it right lol.) I love it, love the paint scheme I've honestly debated building mine to look just like that but finally settled on all black. Also that roll bar looks almost factory the way it's integrated into the plastic, is that custom or can you find them? Lot of questions sorry, just answer whatever you feel like answering and kudos on the car you did a bang up job. I'm looking forward to turboing mine but I recently realized I'll be swapping lower compression pistons and I can't put those in from the bottom because the piston rings need to be compressed and I think I'll have to take the intake off to get the head off and that means dropping the engine again....something I wanted to avoid since I cross threaded the top right engine mount and just barely got it on after thread restoration. I doubt it'll go back on again and that means grinding out and welding in a new engine mount, and welding sheet metal is not my thing lol.
I havent timed my 0-60 yet, its not sleeved though. Monkey wrench is a great resource, I am on the MR2 Spyder facebook group if you want to message me on there it will be easier to go over things :)
im 17 trying to find one with work done already can anybody help me find one with a wide body type style price doesnt matter just the only car i want rn if anybody can help
