Toyota Rav 4 Rear Differential Coupler Bearing Replacement. (stop loud whining noise) 

You are the man, A few years ago I wrote the company who manufactured these units asking how they came apart but got no response. We changed a couple of these units over the years and they are not cheap-even used. Now we can rebuild them and im sure we will have a few happy customers because of this.

The wood instead of the jack stands is THE SMARTEST THING IVE SEEN EVER. Omg i have so much wood and 2x4 and 4x4s 😂and 2x6 😊 that makes me feel so much safer. Im tackeling this tomorrow. Getting it out and figuring out what tf it actualy is. Right now it WILL NOT MOVE. 5 people cant even push it. I had to tow it with my silverado forward backwards is absolutely NOT HAPPENING. So my electric wrench will be here tomorrow and ill figure it out... something is locked up in there. Im going to go through EVERYTHING.

Hey, I just bought a 2012 rav4 and it was made after the recall but the rear has a noise. It seem to be the worst at around 45mph on mine. Can you make a video showing the noise this bearing makes when bad?

My 2001 king quad 300 wont start. It turns over just fine but won't fire, spark plug sparks good. Oil temp light comes on. Can't figure out what it is. Any suggestions?

What did you do about the missing stud on the coupler? It is actually a bolt at least on my 2012 model.. How do I remove the rotating disc that holds the bolts so I can access the back side to install the replacement bolt. 4"studs" are inserted through the drive shaft flange anda nut and a washer secure the drive shaft flange to the differential coupler.

What does the bad bearing sound like? My wifes Rav4 sounds like it has a bad wheel bearing between 30-60mpg, almost like a second exhaust tone. I checked all the wheels and they are tight and smooth so I'm guessing its something else. Somebody had mentioned to me this part goes bad in Rav4s but I have not heard what a bad one sounds like.

If i dont have a press how can i get it pressed or get it out without one? Can i use a jack between some shit? I have a welding table that bolted to the ground..? Also can you put the bearing you gots site on your transcript? Im certain i have to do this before even pulling it out 😢 my baby is in my drive way( thank god i got her home and off the rd) lookin oh so sad. Im just so upset. Absolutely hands down the single most work ive ever put into anyrhing. Ive rebuilt this thing. I litterally just out in a newvl valve body the weekend before this happened and new breaks and rotors the weekend before. All kids of shit. You name it ive taking alot of money and time to do it. 😪 also those spider webs behind thst pess look very concerning. Especially if your on your back working on a vehicle and one of those bitches want to come for dinner.

Just yesterday I seen a Tundra guy reaming a 2021 Ford for surface rust on a cast steering knuckle saying how you can hear a ford rust and I thought you just don't know bud. This video proves it. Toyota does not use the best steel evidently. Looks like Chinese steel.
