Thanks for the info, Kirk! very disappointed with Crown but $43k with no parking sensor, the interior is impressive but loud noise inside the car. SORRY!!! Take it off my list too.
Kirk, you pointed out the main reason I struck the Signia from my shopping list, front parking sensors. Don’t want the glass roof or the 21” wheels. That’s a huge premium to pay for mostly a basic feature in $40k plus vehicles.
Not one as nice, less cramped or form factor you wouldn't. I would agree it gets particularly pricey when you start adding on expected items and niceties.
The strategy is basically picking a high end Toyota with all the features or a base Lexus with a bit less features. There’s always an upsell Also don’t think the crown signia has a Lexus equivalent unlike rav4 to nx, highlander to RX etc
Kirk, I hope Toyota takes the pause in Crown Signia production to come out with a LE trim featuring cloth seats, 16 inch rims, spare tire and 40/20/40 rear seat. 🤩🤩 In regard to your September driving event, I expect it is a 4Runner and Fielder test drive. 🤞🤞
Yeah. 16” wheels on one of the Camry models but not on this new wagon ? Makes no sense. The wagon should have a nice soft ride. Toyota stock has been sucking wind. No surprise
ppl be complaining bout toyota not including features. they've always been like that. hyundai/kia do a much better job if you want features. but with toyota, you're paying for reliability instead. imo, both are expensive in their own ways.
I would say it’s better to have JBL audio system as a standard equipment on the XLE and an optional parking sensors at least for the starting price point. Some tall people need the extra headroom.
We all need a FWD Toyota Camry wagon and a Corolla FWD wagon. *We don't need no stinking AWD SUVs". LOL. SAVE YOUR MONEY. Stop buying gas hogs, especially pickups.
Even on the Rav4, you have to purchase above a mid grade tier to even get basic parking sensors (XLE premium, TRD Off-road). That doesn't even include the 360 camera.

Hi Kirk Thanks for the videos today! I was looking on consumer reports and they rank the Lexus NX all versions less reliable than a BMW X3.. yikes 😳 There’s also some videos on RU-vid about Lexus and Toyota being less reliable nowadays that they switched all their engines out .. as consumers, where do we go? Other than Mazda and Subaru ? I am thinking the best option is a used Lexus /Toyota, when the cars were more reliable? I know for myself I prefer a new car because I know the history.. however, I went with a used Lexus to get the Japanese made last year model. Thoughts ?

The parking sensors being excluded from all but the Limited model is the same thing they did for final gen of Avalon. I don’t have that on my $$$$ vehicle bc I wasn’t “lucky” enough to get the Limited model 🙄. Toyota is so silly to exclude things like this from their non-Limited trims for their flagship vehicle

Same here after I made the mistake of buying a 2007 Lexus ES the first year of that generation in horrible automatic transmission problems. They got it worked out by the second year 2008
Man I love the Crown Signia. It has such a cool design. 🙂 What I would love to see, is a stronger engine version as well which can produce like 300 hp because this is not a small car.
I feel like when Toyota and BMW worked on the Supra/Z4 they took notes on how BMW nickel and dimes you with these expensive packages to get basic options easily turning a 40k car into a upper 50’s to even a 60k car by just making a couple ticks in the options list. Mercedes is super guilty of this-the Mercedes CLA is wildly overpriced and then you just add a few options and you are at 60k. Toyota is starting to feel like that esp with the Tacoma.

I'm interrested in the AWD systems provided by electric motors instead of a driveshaft. Driveshaft based AWD requires stringent tire rotation schedules and all 4 tire replacement even if only one tire blows out. If my analysis is correct, a hybrid system with AWD that isn't mechanically connected with a driveshaft wouldn't care if the front tires were not exactly as worn down as the front tires, since the front and back are independent of the main transmission. Sales people avoid these questions for whatever reason, but am I right? And if I'm right, and this is my main hurdle to AWD (because I hate rotating tires all the time if I don't have to), is the only question that I need to ask is if there is a driveshaft to the rear or not?
The world has 2 giants, Toyota and Boeing, whose reliability, and over all reputation taking a total beat down! Arguably, Toyota is doing right by taking proactive actions. I love both companies and hope they pull through. Although, once reputation takes a hit, it’s hard to regain trust.
Toyota is asking way too much for the Crown Signia. Should have started at the mid-$30K price range. Anyway, the recent scandals at Toyota are nothing short of concerning. Toyota's main selling point is QDR. With that in question, what else is the brand even worth for?

@@rightlanehog3151 Aren't mainstream compact crossovers already at the top end at $40K up? I just believe the two-row Crown Signia should have been priced lower than the Highlander and has been more targeted at the Santa Fe hybrid, which starts at a little less than $37K.
i was so excited for the new models bc im in the market. maybe ill continue to wait since i wfh and its not end all for me to have a new car right now. or look into a used previous gen. idk if its just the us/canada market affected or its global w the issues. wonder if the us govt push for ev just rushed r&d for these new engines?
Toyota needs to do a "stand down" like the US Navy would do after they have multiple naval or aircraft incidences. Toyota is in disarray releasing too many products with too many new features and technologies with shared or common parts that clearly have engineering or manufacturing issues. Every product using the new 3.5TT V6 (3.4TT for those who prefer that nomenclature) is suspect. The Grand Highlander with its front driver airbag issue is probably also impacting the Crown Signia. The new Tacoma has had issues. The Tundra has had other issues besides the most recent engine issue going back to the Turbo wastegate problem. I just bought a new '24 Tundra in early May just before news broke about the engine issues. I can tell you this 3rd year Tundra in the new body style is still buggy - this is crazy. Toyota is living off its reputation at this point and is in freefall.
Honda isn’t any better than Toyota with the new stuff. They have their own sets of problems with Turbos and transmissions. Just get a late 90’s 1997-2001 old Camry or Accord.
