Toyota Tacoma PowerStop Z36 Brake Upgrade and Being a Good Neighbor!

Howdy everyone! Today on a very special episode of AutoEdits... we will meet the owner of that red Toyota Tacoma in the background of many of my videos and teach him how to do a long overdue brake installation on his truck.
Garret has no mechanical experience at all so I'll walk him through the process and explain why I chose the #PowerStopBrakes Z36 Extreme pads and cross drilled and slotted rotors for the front of his cool 2000 Tacoma TRD 4x4.
I'm lucky to live on a street with some very nice people as neighbors and happy to be able to share my passion for mechanical stuff with them... and lucky they don't mind all my junk parked all over the place...LOL
This is a fun one for me because Garret has accomplished some pretty great goals as a young dude and I wanted to share his story while we did something his truck has needed for a while.
Garret has conquered the three major hiking trails in the United States... the Pacific Crest Trail, the Continental Divide Trail and the Appalachian Trail. He's only 22 and I've watched as he set his sights, started saving money and training to accomplish these tasks. It's been inspirational to me and that's why I wanted to share this with you guys!
So please give this a watch and meet my neighbor and maybe you can get inspired to accomplish something good... even if it's just being nice to somebody that needs it.
Here's a link to the AutoEdits Amazon Store to check out the brake kit we installed in this video and you'll find a listing of great Lucas Oil products
www.amazon.com...
Please give me and Garret a follow on Instagram

Thanks so much for watching!

This was a great video! My brother was a mechanic who taught me a lot about working on my own cars. Recently I’ve met some younger (than me, I’m only 30) guys who are into cars but don’t know how to work on them and I’ve been teaching them the basics. How to change oil, change a flat tire, things like that. In fact just this morning I sent one of them your quarantine battery maintenance video because he called me with a dead battery 😆. It is a much more rewarding experience than I thought seeing a young person go from being intimidated about anything on their car to being confident in their abilities to do their own work. Plus it’s awesome not having to do it myself! 😆 Keep up the great work and videos Jason!

Very cool Jason! I was in high school back in the late 70's & early 80's when my Dad's regular mechanic would let me go to his garage to work on Dad's 1973 Dodge Power Wagon 3/4 ton 4X4. Getty would watch over my should just like you did with Garret. I admire Garret for following through with his actual hikes. I graduated there in So Cal (WCHS class of 81), and in my senior year I read the book "A Walk Across America" by Peter Jenkins. In the mid 70's, Peter started from his home in upstate New York and walked all the way to New Orleans, LA. Where he met and fell in love with his wife, Barbara. Peter's 2nd book was "The Walk West" as he and Barbara walked from New Orleans to New Port Beach, OR. Their 3rd and final book was titled, "The Road Unseen" Their story inspired me to check out America before writing it off and turning my back on Her. Well I didn't hike America like Peter or Garrett; however, I did drive all over America and got to know Her better than what I saw on TV. I joined the US Air Force and proudly served our great county and am still very proud to be one of Her sons. Your story has reminded me of some great men who tutored and mentored me. Your teaching will help Garret be open to more and new teachings. Great job to you both! PS: Would have liked to have seen some side by side comparisons of the old parts compared with the upgraded newer parts.
