Respect for you Charlie. That was a difficult job to do without a ramp. I remember a neighbour doing this on his car. The gearbox was stuck quite firmly and his attention went for just a couple of seconds. The box slipped suddenly and hit him in the mouth ! He broke two of his teeth! You explained the safety needed very well.I think this Video is helpful to any one who wants to save a bit of money and do it themselves.

Beautiful work and fantastic editing. You are such a mechanic with loads of technical tricks in getting things done as per automobile works. Well done Charlie. Going forward please be mindful of these pieces of advice: 1, please cover your nose, wear googles and ear plugs when working on clutches, especially with impact wrenches. There was no need to smell an old friction plate, it’s a health hazard. 2, you may just remove the ball joints/ stabilizer bar links to get the drive shafts out instead of having to take off the brake calipers and the strut suspension arms. 3, you may also want to invest in a transmission floor jack for gearboxes easy removal and installation instead of making use of your knee and strength. That technique, I believe it’s meant for younger ones, not for people of our age. And finally, may I know how many days it took you to complete this job, and also if I were to do this kind of job for a customer at their place, how much should my labour cost be? Changing the clutch myself, on my 2013 Yaris; I got as far as pulling the gearbox off the engine... only to be stopped by the steel locating pin, seen on the far left of picture, at 1:13:49, having corroded and expanded itself into the aluminium housing of the engine block. Otherwise a very informative and VERY useful video!
@sanumotorswithcharlie thanks, going to attempt to do my Auris mk2 1.6 petrol 2013 model. Although 10 year old car, it appears to be a lot more rust than my old 18 corolla, couple of the sub frame bots and and the axle nuts are worst....will see.
