I miss the old days when the camera zoomed in on the digit being guessed, and that evil looking "NO" popped up on the screen if the guess was incorrect.
Wow, it shows you how little I follow game shows any more when I thought that 3 Strikes had been retired due to that infamous episode where Drew Carey bitches about how slow-paced the game is, thereby making the game longer. >.> I'm glad it's back, though.
The first time since Drew been on there somebody won 3 strikes when they put all 3 strikes in the basket. I think it's was better when they put only one strike in the basket.
wow! that was an amazing three strikes win. i did not think jalice was going to win that cadillac. congratulations jalice. remember, drive carefully, and obey all the traffic safety rules.
@thegameshowguy1, I agree I think Burton is being anouncer for other shows cause of that his schedule is busy he could not do it. Now he did do a good job subing in for Rod. So you can he is a good anouncer but, due to schedule conflict he can not do it.
it's about time someone finally won 3 STRIKES under the 3 strikes in the bag sucks, but hey at least the "5" we see is back where it belongs. I LOVE THAT "5"
8:10 Release the doves!!!! I surprised they didn't have a shot of the Blue Angels flight squad flying in the sky, confetti, balloons, a choir singing "Hallejulah". I guess that won't happen until someone wins Temptation. LOL
notice how there is actually 3 strikes in there, they changed the game a long time ago so that, there is only 1 strike in there, and if you drew the strike, Bob would just put the strike back in there, but apparently they changed it back, I wonder why
Well, don't feel too bad about her not making it to the showcases. Another contestant who won a car won his showcase which also had a car. Drew really should've made like Barker and come through the audience when 3 Strikes was the first game. That or Golden Road or Plinko.
@WayoshiM I had no idea. No wonder he didn't the job. If not Burton, then I'd call up Randy West or Paul Boland, Roger Rose, Bob Hilton, all the announcers that have been great on TPiR except Daniel Rosen. He's just horrific.
When there were only 2 slots left and the 8 wasn't in the 5th, she has to look at the audience to make sure that she should put it n the last possible option lol
the jitters are real. I mean that has to be a little overwhelming being on TV, trying to win a 45k car, having an audience screaming for you, and Drew Carey standing next to you. I'm always surprised people don't just faint all the time
+Robi_CK I was saying the exact same thing! You lose all sense of thinking when you get up on stage. Man, I said the same thing. But you know her male cousins are thinking how they can get their hands on that "Caddie"
So happy that she won the most gruesomely unlucky odds-stacked-against-your-favor game on the PIR! I would rather do Hole in One or Two game for a car any day than 3 Strikes!
nwjazz When she pulls her hand out of the bag, you see there's a flap she has to reach through. So, it appears the bag is actually covered to prevent contestants from seeing the numbers when looking down at the bag. Whether Drew mixed the bag up or not, she could move her hand around and feel both of the disks and decide which one to pull out. That being said, I don't think his mixing the bag up on the last try would have changed the outcome.
sharkheadism I think this guy was one of several who they had auditioning for the position. The same thing happened when Rod Roddy died: they had several different announcers (including Burton Richardson) narrate a few episodes, before finally deciding on a new announcer.
+sharkheadism The show was going in a different direction, and it was deemed that rich was not the best announcer for what they had in mind. Sad to say they canned rich right before drew got back from his African vacation around the time the soccer world cup was going on. Cause iirc drew said, he would've defended rich from termination like barker did years ago.
But what does the winner do , if they can't afford to pay the " taxes " that you have to pay in America ??? sell it and pay and buy a cheaper car ?? sort of makes winning a bit sour though ...
Yup, it's better here in Canada, we don't pay taxes on prizes or lotto wins. We win it, we get it. A girl from here in Canada won a Jeep on Price is Right, & she got to take the cash. (about $25,000)
Nah you can't even do that. The way the Price is Right works is that they ship the car to a dealership within 200 driving miles of your house. The Price is Right is required to make arrangements within 90 days to ship the vehicle. The winner is then notified and given 10 days and 10 days only to pick up the vehicle after notification of availability. If the winner fails to pick it up within the 10 days you forfeit the prize. When you drive to dealership to pick it up, you must bring the tax money with you. If you cannot afford the taxes you DO NOT get the car. This includes paying federal AND state income tax since the prize is considered a cash prize and as such income for you.
I still love the Price is Right, I like the rotation announcers but I still say they should've kept Rich Fields on the show, they wrong for getting rid of Rich like that, the show ain't the same without Rich Fields, Phire Dawson, Lanisha Cole, Shane Stirling and Brandi Sherwood, they were awesome and I can't believe they gone.
the fact that she had to continue looking out to the audience even when it was obvious where certain numbers should go after being narrowed down is absolutely pathetic. She didn't deserve to win this car.
